“Nice layout by the sea.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

Milnerton is the second links inspired course in Cape Town with some of the holes actually next to the ocean. The breath taking view from the second tee with the Table Mountain, Lion's head, Robben Island out at sea and occasional surfing dolphins can make you forget what you came here for. Links golf! 9 holes you play away from the lighthouse and at the turn, after a quick bite at the half way house, you start your journey back towards the lighthouse. Milnerton and Atlantic Ocean GC are the two courses offering you a very exciting yet daunting challenge when the wind picks up and it is beyond impressive to see pros play scores below par on the windiest of tournament days. I love these two courses and after the round you can enjoy your drink of choice and watch the kite surfers do their tricks.

“Nice location”

Good golf course, fairly open playing, not to difficult but the holes along the water are amazing. Club house serves some good food and the staff are friendly

“Friendly, very windy but stunning scenery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 December 2013

I played this course during a recent visit to Cape Town. The members are very friendly - a man and his grandson invited me to play with them as I was playing alone. The views of table mountain and the sea are stunning and it is probably the most beautiful course I have played to date .
However it is not for the fainthearted. The day I played it was very windy particularly on the back nine. My advice would be to definitely take a buggy !

“Nice links style course with great views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 September 2013

Sand based links style course set along the beachfront and around new housing. Plenty of lakes and lagoon in play.
Easy enough to get a tee time ringing the proshop direct a day beforehand. (for a Monday lunchtime tee time).
Staff set me up with three members who were hitting off shrtly after me so played the round in their company and had the benefit of their wisdom about the course. Great company and nice guys.
Even after significant rain in Cape Town, the course was still playable. The fairways were heavy in patches and there was some isolated casual water but it didn't affect the game significantly.
Paid a cheaper rate directly at the golf shop at the course than was available online (330ZAR for 18 holes plus pull buggy).
Great ocean views and the ever present Table Mountain in the background.
Course itself was quite short when played off the white (middle) tees and they were quite a ways forward. Probably more testing when played off the back. Wind was only a club or two and had to be considered but didn't affect the game.

Nice clubhouse for a drink afterwards watching the sun go down over the bay.

“Milnerton Golf Course”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2013

Great views across the bay looking towards the city and mountains. There are some really good golf holes and it is the only true links course in Cape Town
