This B&B fully deserves it status as the top B&B in Oudtshoorn ( on Trip Advisor ) and in the Top 25 in South Africa .
This was our first visit there and it was amazing to find a place such as this just off a busy , main road in the town.
From the minute you step into the lovely old house the attention to detail is apparent everywhere ,viz we were offered tea or coffee upon arrival ( not done elsewhere ) and our room was very comfortable with everything that we required.
A bonus is the secure , off- street parking .
What is absolutely amazing here is the view when you go out of the back door – the wonderful rolling green lawns down to the river front ( where there are reeds and a bird hide ) and the beautiful , sparkling pool set on the lower terrace where you can really cool off and relax !!
Walking in that area and sitting at the pool transports you far away from the hustle and bustle of any town or city and gives the sense of being out in the countryside, The number of different birds at the river is amazing and if you are very lucky you could see otters in the early morning or late evening !
Breakfast here is something that really sets this B&B apart from any others and Liz is to be complimented for the fantastic spread that she prepares each morning .
This is served to you at your table on the lawn and starts off with a jug of juice for the table plus a wonderful dish of fresh fruit and yoghurt for each table plus your own mini-loaf of home baked bread – delicious !! Then you help yourself to cereals . Coffee or tea is also naturally served to you.
Each day a different cooked meal is prepared and the day we were there it was the most divine omelette ! not a small omelette ( enough for 3 people ) crammed full of onions , mushrooms , bacon and cheese ( really superb ) and this was shared by the 2 of us at our table.
Liz and Des have really established a top class B&B and with the very reasonable rates cannot recommend it more highly . the owners are also very friendly and helpful and you feel as if you are leaving “old friends” when it is time to say good-bye , hopefully to return again !!!!

The Yotclub is right in the middle of town but very quiet. We stayed on room 5, which overlooks the garden and the river. It has it's own outside space and was very comfortable. Des is very welcoming and helpful as was everyone we met. The breakfasts are delicious , even our own loaf of homemade bread. It won't be our only stay here. Come here, you will pleased you did!
No fitness centre or room service but couldn't change the rating....to not used!

Room Tip: Room 5, outside with its own entrance, large bed, air on and mini kitchen overlooking the garden

The fact that we keep coming back, says it all! This B&B is excellent value for money, situation in town, but overlooking lovely gardens and the river. Breakfast is served outside in this perfect setting. Our host Des was very helpful, booking a restaurant and arranging for the return of an item left by my wife!!
Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We had Room 5 and it was excellent!

Des is such a welcoming host. The room (1) was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom is basic but clean. The garden is very pleasant with plenty of seating areas. The location is central and walking distance to restaurants. This is a lovely guest house but much more basic than the others we have stayed in in SA- but this is reflected in the price so it is excellent value for a stop over to explore oudtshoorn.

Clementine, We apologize that the garden room was already reserved. As you were on honeymoon, we gave you our lovely double in the house. Yes these older houses are sometimes basic and rightfully so to keep the character of 150 year old house in tact. The guests really love staying in this Karoo homestead as against a purpose built BnB.

We didn't book, arriving as a 'chance' after driving from PE. What a fantastic find, friendly, superb location, a real gem of the Karoo! Facilities were excellent, hosts so friendly, and the breakfast - wow! That home made bread and the omelette were fantastic. Thanks for a super stay.

Another place that surprised us. The website doesn't do justice to the beauty of the gardens and the idyllic setting of this B&B. We stayed in room 9. The bed was a little small but the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable and we felt totally secure. We even had our own porch and garden. The breakfast was served overlooking the perfect garden and river and we were given a freshly baked loaf of bread all to ourselves. Des and Liz were delightful hosts.

The setting of Yotclub and its tiered garden overlooking the river is as close as I have come to paradise in all my travels! The photos don't do it justice, and it really is a glorious setting. The pool is small but beautifully situated. We arrived early in the afternoon and had the garden and pool to ourselves. There are several restaurants, bars and cafes within easy walking distance - we had a nice dinnner at Nostalgie which is 200m from the house. The rooms were very comfortable and private, and the service was exceptional. Breakfast on the veranda was a perfect end to what was unfortunately too brief a stay. My only regret was that we didn't stay longer.
