Stayed here as part of our garden route tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our hostess Azuze was extremely welcoming and informative. We visited two local eateries - both excellent and also enjoyed a free wine tasting and cheese platter at the nearby winery. You are a fair bit outside the town but that was perfect for us and we enjoyed the tranquil setting.
Lovely room and good breakfasts.

I agree totally with 'Hegiewoo'. I too stayed in the very same room they did. Anzue is the friendliest lady, informative and a wonderful host. A beautifully appointed room, private entrance and attention to detail. Unfortunately we only stayed one night but we will be back for a longer period when next in the area. Thank-you Anzue!

we thought it was the most lovely and unusual place, lovely garden, gracious hostess! We had a lovely bedroom and a gorgeous new bathroom....so relaxing sitting on the stoep with a cup of coffee! Very Handy for the caves, and seeing thousands of ostriches! It is also lovely to visit the waterfall, a nice and cool walk up under the trees....
Delicious breakfast, and we felt so at home!

we would definitely stay again at Die Fonteine!

We spent two nights in Die Fonteine whilst travelling up from Cape Town towards Port Elizabeth. We arrived in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed by the owner Pierre and two lovely, charismatic dogs.

The room we stayed in was beautifully furnished, we loved the air-con (and needed it as it was in the 30's whilst we were there!) and the careful attention to detail, from the piece of lavender on our towels to the rusks and sherry, our hosts had thought of everything!

That evening we really enjoyed sitting on the verandah chatting with Pierre and Anzue (and petting their dogs) whilst the sun went down. The property is next door to an ostrich farm so it was lovely to look out at a mother ostrich and her baby. The gardens at Die Fonteine are beautifully kept and you can't help but feel completely relaxed and thoroughly spoilt here.

The breakfast in the morning was again a wonderful experience, so much thought had gone into the meal from the beautiful breakfast room we ate in with unique and tasteful furnishings to the local butter, home made bread, flapjacks (South African scotch pancakes), choice of cereals, biscuits, yoghurt and of course a cooked option which was divine and a real holiday luxury!

We would highly recommend Die Fonteine, it is in a brilliant location for visiting Cango Wildlife Ranch, Cango Caves, Prince Albert & the Swartberg Pass, we felt thoroughly spoilt whilst staying there and look forward to returning soon!

From the moment we arrived a friendly, beaming Anzue made our stay pure pleasure.
We stepped into our stunning room, which was everything we needed after our long journey. , The view is breathtaking and the breakfast was fit for a famished soul.
All the little extras did not go unnoticed and I recommend this beautiful and affordable accommodation to anyone without hesitation.

We stayed two nights and from the beginning to the end we enjoyed the stay at this quiet, lovely and very nice place. It is around 10 km from Oudtshoorn next to the Cango Ostrich Farm. At this little peradise, we were able to get away from all the stress before. Rooms are very clean, big and very nice furnished. The breakfast was very delicious and the owner was very nice. Her service is more than pleasant ! In the morning our car was washed and her cookies were so good, that we got some for our drive. We had our best time at Die Fonteine during our trip through South Africa.

This B&B is not in Oudtshoorn, but in a small place called Schoemanshoek which is about half way between Oudtshoorn and the Cango Caves (which we can highly recommend!).
We arrived quite late at night, so only a very annoying dog greeted us at first. But the owner was pretty nice, and the rooms were definitely worth the money. Pretty furniture, nice bathrooms, comfortable beds and everything very clean.
The breakfast was disappointing, but it was a very good place to stay at for visiting the Cango Caves early the next morning.

This guest house is situated just outside Oudtshoorn on the way to Cango Caves. This guest house is owned and run by Anzue. There are 6 double rooms each with their own entrance and ensuite bathrooms. Rooms are spacious and new with wonderful finishes. The setting of the guest house is beautiful and we loved eating a delicious breakfast while being surrounded by mountains and watching ostriches nearby.
