What a VERY pleasant surprise to come across Charl & his guesthouse. Professionalism is the key here - not to mention sincere friendliness and a source of accurate, detailed travel/tourist advice. Attention to detail throughout the guesthouse is thorough and of a very high standard from the garden maintenance to the silver serviette rings at breakfast to the complimentary earbuds in one's bathroom!! My congratulations .... if only Charl could "monitor" and advise other guesthouses/B&B's and help others develop their properties to the standard of Yamkela Guesthouse. And all this delivered at a VERY affordable daily rate!!! Would have enjoyed staying more than just one night while passing through Oudtshoorn. Lawrie Wright

We stayed two nights at this guesthouse which we selected after reading reviews about it. It is in a good location near shops, banks and walking distance to a variety of restaurants. Nice clean rooms and comfortable beds. Nice large bathrooms.

Excellent breakfast in a beautiful room. Very nice and helpful hosts. They helped us with restaurant reservations.

Parking is a bit tight for a large vehicle is a bit tricky but we manage.

Good value for the price. Would stay here again.

We stayed here March 2011, and we couldn't have asked for a more friendly, comfortable, clean and secure B&B, in a wonderful setting. It's well within walking distance of local restaurants, but not too close so that you would notice. Its also in a good location for the attractions in the area such as the cango cave and ostrich farms etc.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in what was a very nice and clean room with a great ensuite bathroom looking out onto a very nice garden. The breakfast was plentiful and served when requested and the hosts knew a lot about the restaurants of the area, both of which we visited and found to be very good recommendations.

I stayed here November 22, 2012 while driving through the Karoo on route 62. Really nice guesthouse, quiet and secure. Plenty of restaurants with late night hours within walking distance. Very friendly owners and a great breakfast. Miss the ostrich sausage!
