This place is beautifully located, rooms are spacious and wonderfully warm in winter, the gardens and outdoor eating areas really lovely and requests for adapters and softer pillows were happily sorted. Plenty of towels and toiletries and a good shower. The staff is super friendly, apart for the one who indicated, by hand, to her colleague that a member of our party was loony - because she insisted that the food tray for a child be delivered to the room at a specific time, the third time she had tried to arrange this. But oh, the service, it is appalling. We waited three hours for dinner on one night. Fortunately the company was great, or this could have turned out really badly. And this was the rule. We had to keep asking where our orders were, trays were delivered too late or too early. Baby sitters did not pitch up and had to be hunted down. And the mountain bike trail? A disaster, with route makers not much in evidence, so we never did get to do the 35km or so promised trail. Food ranged from pretty good to just average.
It is really hard to rate such a place. Will we go back or recommend it? I don't really know.More
