Owner description: Though damaged through shortsighted tourism schemes in the 1960s, these caves are still worth a visit for their eerie dark tunnels and stunning limestone formations.

“Go for the adventure”

We tried the adventure tour, and although it was quite scary in some points it was really good fun!
I would suggest to go with light clothes, as it can get very quite hot inside, and also to leave any bags or unecessary stuff in the car as you would have to squeeze in some very thight places!

“Take the time to go into a totally new world!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

The caves are 40 km out of town and it is a short trip worth making. The hour long 'heritage' tour costs 80R for adults and 45R for children. Our small person enjoyed the tour and learnt a few new things along the way. There is also an 'adventure' tour that takes 90 minutes - but check out the diagrams near the entrance to make sure you can fit through the narrow gaps! You'll also need to get on your hands, knees and stomach! The whole operation is totally professional.

“Fabulous Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

These caves are so astonishing that they look like something created for a film set instead of by nature. The tour is very interesting. There is no sense of feeling hemmed in as the caves are vast. You can opt for a more adventurous tour which is a lot more physical

“Even our claustrophobic partner loved it!”

The "non-adventure" tour was excellent. Good guides, appropriate lighting, right length, crowds no problem.

“Good guides”

The surroundings of the caves are beautiful. We did not venture into the small claustrophobic bits, but the rooms we saw were interesting and quite large.
