Great accommodation set in beautiful surroundings. We had a luxury room which was very large with an outdoor shower as well as a large modern bathroom, howerver it was not quite wqrm enough to use the outdoor shower! Room was very comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was a set price menu and the Ostrich Fillet was beautifully tender and melted in the mouth.

We were up very early the next morning to meet Devey the "Meerkat Man" to go off and see these wonderful creatures in their natural habitat. It was well worth the early start. We were ready for our breakfast on our return. There was plenty of choice on the buffet and hot breakfasts were cooked to order.

We had a great time here and were sorry we were only there for one night. A great place to just chill out and relax.

We loved this place from the minuite we got here, it was warm, pictureesque, friendly and our room number 11 was the most perfect room, couldn't have asked for more.
Location
Not bad, it was kind of in the middle of no-where but there were things to do not far away
Room
Perfect, lovely lay out, great bathroom and out balcony-you could sit there for hours its like sitting in an avairy.
Food-erm, well it was ok, a-lot of Ostrich on the menu but to be fair, we were on an African farm, I had Soup and Fish, little limited but you could probably find something
Things we did
Meerkat adventures was fab! Cango Caves, Cango Wildife, lazed by the pool, bike ride but there were lots more to do.
See www.southafricagardenroute.blogspot.com for a full detail of our holiday.

Room Tip: Room 11 I think it was a luxury room, it had a balcony, lovely

We stayed at De Zeekoe Guest Farm from Nov 8th-Nov 10th. The rooms were fantastically decorated and the surroundings are beautiful. We had some terrific food in the restaurant, the ostrich dish is by far the best in the land. The only draw-back would be the fact that it's very commercially-driven and feels more like a hotel than a "guest farm". Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough for a "Meerkat Adventure", which was sad, but perhaps the £45pp is a bit steep! Overall, nice place, but can seem more like a business.

Room Tip: I would go for one of the Deluxe Rooms which are very tastefully decorated.

We booked a cabin at De Zeekoe. When compared to other accomodation in SA, it was expensive. Seeing the 4* rating, our expectations were high. When we arrived we saw that the cabins are 3 km away of the hotel. The welcome is done by putting the lenu card under your nose asking you to already order your expensive main course. These cabins are very old, wind is blowing through it, you do not have a proper bed, shower was old and dirty, toilet did not flush properly, no soaps available, spiders around the windows, your realy need the mosquito net to protect you from the dirty little animals in the cabin, what a disapointment. We talked to the owner about it, she was very unfiriendly and impolite. This was the sadest experience we had during our three weeks honeymoon through SA. Need I say more... The photos on booking.com are not reflecting the reality! Stay away from this place

Room Tip: Do not book the cabins

Only stayed 1 night here, the accommodation was luxurious, with a most devine bath, french doors opening to our own balcony with magic views. The evening meal was served in a stunning dining room and was of an exceptional quality. Highly recommend the ostrich steaks. Hospitality was excellent.

Room Tip: Room with balcony lovley, bath a bonus

Its just a short drive from Oudtshoorn about 20 minutes by car. Stayed for 2 nights, good food both at breakfast and evening meal. Warm welcome outstanding area to visit if you have car to use and travel around . To much to say here as scenery is outstanding we even took car around mountain roads with car, but you have to take care on minor "C " roads. OK when we went as road were not very busy and dry weather.
