We stayed in one of the lake cabins, unfortunately only for one night, but absolutely loved it! This is quite a while ago now, but we still think of this highly romantic place. We loved sitting on the little veranda overlooking the lake, reading or drinking a glass of good wine. The wooden cabins are quite rustic but nicely decorated.
We did not stay in the main house, so I cannot comment on it. Breakfast was nice, although I found that the room lacked character compared to the lovely cabins..
Overall a very pleasant stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at De Zeekoe. Our room was a good size with balcony looking out over open countryside. The outside shower was a great bonus, we didn't use the one inside! Food very good, staff helpful and friendly. Situated a few miles outside Oudtshoorn might be a problem for some but for us the peace and quite was very relaxing. We would definitely recommend doing the meerkat experience, it's well worth getting up early for. We wish we had planned more time here, we didn't want to leave.

This is a great place to stay exploring the Garden Route and Route 62. We were traveling off the coast and were amazed by the mountain scenery that Outdshoorn met us with.
The lodge is an authentic farm but refurbished and redecorated in a very clever and tasteful way - our room had hints of colonial design, was equipped with home dessert wine, huge four-poster bed and an outside shower (as well as a normal one). We had both breakfasts and dinners there, the food was nice but service could be slightly more friendly at times. Music in the restaurant was bad (instrumental mixes) and you really expect something good from a place created in other ways with such a taste.
There can be insects in a room, but the bed is equipped with the mosquito net and there is a spray in the bathroom that one can use to fight them. Due to the sewage system, sometimes the smell in a room is not very nice but this is because it's a remote farm.
De Zeekoe is definitely a very bright place surrounded by amazing scenery which is worth going for.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were upgraded to Room 13, with its own terrace and lovely views, outside shower too. We had been a bit concerned about the mention in some reviews of mosquitoes but there were none. A lovely place, where the staff take a lot of trouble. Our trip to watch the Meerkats meant we were late for breakfast, but the staff happily kept breakfast open later for us. Kristy was particularly helpful. We didn't eat here in the evenings but went each night to Jemima's, an excellent restaurant in the Main Street with a really helpful manager, Frank.

Room Tip: Go for one with a nice view

A great two day stop off on Route 62, after driving a few hundred yards up a dirt track we came across De Zeekoe Farm Lodge, a lovely house and surroundings.
Our room was luxurious with a sumptious bed, the complementary carafe of sherry went down well !
We sat outside and had our breakfast with the sun shining and blue skies, and the restaurant food was of a high standard.
One morning we got up early to see a nearby meerkat family rise, sum great sites. Plus an ostrich safari farm was only about half a mile away.
With wi-fi and free use of a pc was usefull.
Highly recommended.

We had such a nice room at the Zeekoe Guest Farm. Rustic but modern. And the bathroom was great! Everything was clean and in good condition. There was a small balcony with a view at the landscape.
There is a big garden area with swimmingpool and deck chairs where you can lie down and relax.
The food at the restaurant is good, and if the weather is nice you can sit outside on the terrace.
We had cake for dessert - it was delicious!

From the minute that we arrived at this lovely Guest Farm the receptionist made us feel so welcome and the standard of service and the attention to detail was superb. When we were shown to our room we could only say "WOW" the rooms are beautifully accessorized and the beds are incredibly comfortable. We booked to go on the Meerkat Adventure- which is certainly worth getting up at 4.30am for - just incredible!
We wished that we could have stayed for more than one night at this fabulous location where all of the facilities were first class.
