We wanted to see the Caves and the Ostriches and this was the perfect spot to stay. We were upgraded to a beautiful room with an outside shower (and a luxurious bathroom with shower as well). Staff were most helpful and friendly. So much to see and explore at the farm and surrounding areas.

Paula,
We had 3 cabins at your lake, too bad we stayed only 1 night, we loved it so much and wished to stay longer. Firewood for the grill was well prepared, sitting on the little patio with a glass of wine and ostrich fillet made the evening a perfect one. Kitchen, Bedroom, Livingroom all great for a Cabin. Bird watching and sun rise in the morning, with a cup of coffee is so relaxing. Your Breakfast buffet is outstanding, we liked it very much, great variety and nice ambiente. We like your "sentence of the day" on your blackboard.
The rough road to the cabins was not a problem for our minivan.
We appreciate that you support the nearby school project, and encourage you to continue
We wish you the best, God bless you and your family
Harald & Doris, Debora & Markus, Fridl & Rolf

Room Tip: we like the cabins at the little lake very much

Dear Harald & Doris, Debora & Markus, Fridl & Rolf

Was great having you on our farm :-)
Happy that you enjoyed your visit in our cabins. We are privilege to have a lake full of water and birdlife.

Life is only travelled once; today's moment becomes tomorrow's memory. Enjoy every moment, good or bad, because the GIFT of LIFE is LIFE itself. Have a nice day.

Kind regards
Paula

The lodge is situate just outside the town of Outdshoorn, itself on route 62. It's a peaceful oasis of good taste with crisp desert views, great pool area, nice garden area and beautiful rooms. The rooms in the main house are stylishly decorated in colonial style.
There is a lot to do in this little place (caves, waterfalls, ostrich farms, hiking) and the lodge welcomed us back every night to relax and watch the sun set. We travelled as a family with young boys which was fine, breakfast was very good and the evening meals good.
We went for an early morning jog past the dam and saw the cabins and loved the setting.
This place will appeal to families, romantic couples and adventurers who appreciate coming back to a friendly place after a day of discovery.

We only stayed for a single night in one of the lake cabins before driving to Knysna.

The location is a few km from the town though this is not really a drawback. It also requires a bit of dirt road driving though nothing problematic. The breakfast was ok though not a highlight. There's decent WiFi but is a confined area.

The wooden chalets make staying here for a few days worthwhile. Very peaceful and in a great setting. They are a little rustic but nicely decorated and very comfortable.

Suggest arriving early both to enjoy the location and to make finding the farm easier

We booked to stay here purely for the Meerkat Adventure. The hotel is clean and comfortable, however, compared to others on this holiday, it had a lot to live up to. One thing to note is the walls were thin and a couple of times during the night our sleep was disturbed by talking and alarms going off. What I do object to is sharing my dinner experience with the hotel cat and dog.
