“A Place Let You Relax....!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2013

We stayed for 1 night only. We asked them to prepare dinner for us at 8:00pm since we got a longer route from Cape Town. They agreed and let us tried the ostrich steak which was very delicious. They also upgraded our room to deluxe one without additional cost. The room is spacious and moody. The decoration was very nice. The breakfast was also very good. It is very convenient to go to Safari Ostrich Farm and Cango Caves.

We initially booked the meerkat tour in early morning. But the guide was no show because it was raining. We were very disappointed and went back to the hotel and told them we had waited a while and rain had stopped later. The hotel manager then arranged us to take the breakfast first and she would arrange another guide to take care us. Fortunately, we could see a lot of meerkat in the farm.

You could tried to stay there since the farm environment is special.

What a special place De Zeekoe is, especially the rustic chalets on the dam. The fire was very cosy in our chalet, after our excellent meal (which included 9 vegetables!) we had in the restaurant. A wonderful place to birdwatch and run/cycle. The meerkat adventure was a dream come true! Thank you for making it possible. A truly special place run by special people! We'll be back to experience more of Oudtshoorn.

We stayed for 1 night in a deluxe room. The room was enormous and well appointed. Im not sure if it's a family-run hotel, but it had that feel about it. The hotel grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed lounging by the small pool in the February heat. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the food was very good. We enjoyed that we were given the option of having an ostrich egg omelette at breakfast. The highlight of our stay at De Zeekoe was the Meerkat experience, which the hotel arranged for us. The guide, Devey, was an interesting guy and we enjoyed listening to his stories about animal rescues that he and his family have helped with. One night was sufficient for us to see a bit of Oudtshoorn and participate in the Meerkat experience.

Had the pleasure of spending a night at this establishment. What a pleasure to see attention to detail like that!! We stayed over for the purpose of seeing the meerkats which in itself is worth experiencing. The resort is really beautiful so take the time to have a look at all the different accommodation options available. We only got back from the excursion at 10.30am and were still offered breakfast with a smile (even though there was a complete power outage!!!) Well worth the visit........

My wife and I had planned to stay for one night (June 9) so we could see the meerkats the following morning. Our son decided to join us on the trip the day before. We arrived late and were greeted very warmly by the wonderful Adri. She could not have been nicer, even though I believe she had to stay late because of our 'late' arrival. The kitchen had closed, but she had made arrangements for us to get a meal in our room, then started a fire in the lounge. We enjoyed refreshments in front of the fire and TV while catching up on email before heading back to our room. The room was very nice. An extra bed had been set up for our son. It was bitterly cold outside, but the electric blankets and duvets kept us very comfortable.

We loved the meerkat adventure! Breakfast was ready when we got back to the farm. Adri was again very helpful as we chose our meercat carvings and planned the rest of our day.

We stayed here 2 nights during our Garden route - Cape Town trip. The grounds and gardens are nice, the rooms are comfortable (a bit over furnished for our taste) and the bathrooms very nice, especially the outdoor shower. The staff were very nice and welcoming, gave us an overview of the area and suggested a number of activities. The food, whether breakfast or dinner were very good.

Not to be missed: the Meerkat tour. I went twice, really the highlight of our stay and will be the reason we visit again some day. The reception will book it for you and guests get a special price.

The drive over the pass to Prince Albert is a beautiful experience not to be missed.

Room Tip: Luxury rooms with a view on the fields
