My family stayed at Thabile Lodge for two nights in March and had a wonderful stay. The rooms are very comfortable, all with beautiful views of the hills. We had great food both nights and excellent breakfasts. The lodge has a very warm and friendly atmosphere and our 7 year old son loved playing with the very friendly dogs and Garfield the fat cat! The lodge is well located for visiting the impressive Cango caves and ostrich farms.

This is a do not miss place with lots of things to do and see close by. Really nice rooms, excellent food it's worth going just for the food. There is a pool and jacuzzi. And it is located in a beautiful place, looks like Sedona Arizona.

My family stayed at Thabile Lodge from 21 - 24 March 2014 whilst simultaneously supporting our daughter in a swimming gala and spending my birthday in Oudschoorn. We were close enough to the town and all sightseeing excursions. Len our friendly, witty and accommodating host made sure we felt relaxed and welcome from the moment we arrived in the Klein Karoo. We loved meeting the pets and felt like part of the family. The facilities were excellent, air conditioners in our rooms were a treat and our breakfast and dinners were superb and our hosts entertaining. My birthday dinner was so special! We were fortunate enough to share it with old friends who stayed at the same lodge with us and Len went to the trouble of creating a beautiful table. Nothing seemed like to much trouble. The garden is a little oasis with a variety of beautiful birds feasting and chirping at the birdfeeder. The views of the Swartberg mountains especially at sunset are just sublime. Definitely worth a full recommendation and place to revisit.

My family stayed at Thabile Lodge 20-24 March 2014, to be near my sons swimming gala in Oudtshoorn. Thabile is a stylish friendly lodge with everything we could want.
Facilities were excellent, the food was so good we had dinner there every night. And our host Len was friendly and accommodating and flexible to our children's culinary demands.
The pool and jacuzzi kept us busy all day, and the air-conditioned rooms were a welcome retreat on the hot afternoons. The lodge is situated near all the local sites, but tucked away with beautiful views of the Little Karroo mountains and landscape. We will go back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: all rooms have a small bar fridge, very useful in the heat

Thabile lodge- A little paradise in Klien Karoo, where you can experience the dazzling starry night sky, sipping on a nice glass of Karoo wine. The mesmerizing view of Swartberg mountains from anywhere you stand on the property, including the rooms and the serenity where you can just hear birds chirping is worth the little extra mile you drive to reach this place.Nature is in abundance here, a perfect place to unwind. The setting of the farmhouse is also stupendous especially the beautifully landscaped eating area and the music that plays in the backdrop certainly adds to the drama.Len Borman- The guy behind this extraordinary establishment , is such a perfect host, that he would go an extra mile to make his guest feel comfortable and happy. He made a perfect friend to my 7 years old daughter. My daughters loved playing around with Len's pets whom he calls his family. We had a blissful time having him around and guiding us through the town and its sightseeing. His sense of humour and hospitality won our hearts away. So much so that we were actually sad to leave. He and his small team calls for kudos. This farmhouse is a perfect oasis in the dessert region of Karoo. If i ever go back... Len.. please keep one cottage for me!

In the middle of nowhere there is a paradise.
Whoever wants to give his head and heart a short break of the routine is exactly right here.
As soon as you found your way through the entrance and parked your car under the trees you can leave everything where it is.
The most important thing is now the warm welcome from Gertrud, 60 year old intern from Germany, and Len the owner of this little paradise. They serve you fresh made juice, you sit down and just enjoy the silence and the colourful birds next to you.
If you feel like jumping in the pool or hang out at the whirlpool you are also more than welcome to do that. You are getting all the time to just ARRIVE. Exactly the right thing after the last stressful months.
Breakfast and Dinner is a group thing. There are certain times and people are getting mixed at their tables. You do stay with your normal crowd. But if there is still more place at your table why don't you wanna meet new people as well?
For the excellent 3 course dinner you sometimes get cocktails for free. And the vibe throughout the whole evening is amazing!
This place is full of peace, warmth and harmony and perfect to let all your bad feelings go.
I did not sleep that good since half of an year!
All the people at Thabile Lodge have their own beautiful attitude with them and you immediately feel home.
And even if it is in the middle of nowhere there is enough things to do around there.
And you never get bored!
I am definitely coming back and I think this is the most beautiful lodge I was able to spent my holidays yet!
THANK YOU <3

This is not chic Cape Town, but it is a super location from which to bathe in the rugged seclusion of the Klein Karoo. Set some 20 minutes outside Oudtshoorn the Lodge offers that magic blend of comfortable living set in near wilderness. But there are spacious bungalows, very acceptable food and good wine. A bottle of "sundowners" against the backdrop of the magnificent Swartberg Mountains is a daily pleasure. Then there is Len, your host. He is a source of information, help and entertainment. Len, Ma and the whole Thabile team work hard to ensure a most enjoyable experience. The dogs, the wild birds and the swimming pool all contributed to this piece of tranquility in the wild. With a cast of cosmopolitan guests around the breakfast and dinner table, it was no wonder the days passed so quickly, and whet our appetites for a speedy return ! Our two nights was insufficient.
