Thabile Lodge was a great place to stay. It was about 20 min outside of town a short distance down a dirt road. It was the perfect location to stay after several days of travel up the Garden Route. The Rooms were spacious and well equipped, the grounds were well maintained and beautiful to look at. I was able to completely relax on the farmers porch with a cold beer, overlooking the spectacular mountain range. The owner was very out going, and interacted with all of his guests. Not only did he get to know the folks staying, he made it a point to address all by name, and introduce everyone to each other. Further, the food was amazing, the chef was is in the same league as Todd English and Bobby Flay, Having eaten at both of their establishments on numerous occasions, I feel that my opinion on comparison is pretty valid. For an American Traveling to South Africa, I found Thabile Lodge a great place to stay. With the exchange rate, it was a very affordable place to stay, and dine, there was really no reason to leave to eat anywhere else. My only regret was not staying a few more nights. I would highly recommend at least one night at Thabile Lodge if you are traveling thru Oudtshoorn. Happy Travels!!

This unique lodge is a winning lottery ticket. Just outside of Oudtshoorn in the country side with 4 star facilities. Beautiful lodges all with an amazing view! We had 4 lodges all fully equiped with a special reference to the shower! Warm, personal service with a genuine smile. We had a great time! Thank you Len!

The setting of Thabile is so lovely, not far from Oudtshoorn with it's restaurants and attractions but with the feel that one is way out of civilization. The clean and simple rooms have all the important amenities, (including air conditioning) and a gorgeous view of the mountains. There is a swimming pool and a juccuzzi, and Len will make sure that you are well fed and feel welcomed. I highly recommend Thabile Lodge if you are looking for a stay in the Oudtshoorn area and want to relax and feel well attended to. Great value!

We stayed in Thabile Lodge for 1 night on our drive back from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town - recommended to us and we werentlet down. A very welcome oasis - we were greeted by the lovely host Len who made us feel very welcome. We were shown to our accommodation which are houses in the grounds of the working farm - all new, modern, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Full use of the facilities was available - pool, jacuzzi etc - the pool was very welcome in the heat! Very homely place to stay and excellent food served - there is even a bar in the living room!

Would definatley recommned - off the beaten track - 30KMs outside Oudsthoorn but worth the extra trip.

We stayed at Thabile Lodge on the way back to Cape Town after being on Safari. Our friend in Cape Town recomended this place to us and he was right about everything. The host Len cant do enough to welcome you, the first thing he did was bring us to meet other guests and asked what we wanted to drink, sitting on the veranda with a chilled glass of wine relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet after our long drive was just heavenly. The exterior of the small lodge where you sleep is very plain but once you get inside its very roomy and there is polished concrete everywhere, everything is made out of it which I just loved. Beds are very comfortable and there is tea making facilities. The his and hers wash-hand basins are a bonus, very good power shower. We just loved the 'rustic' ceiling of the lodge and the place was spotless. There is a jacuzzi and a swimming pool which we didnt use but other guests did. The evening meal is eaten in the main large lodge it was extremely good 3 courses with choices, it all sounded so nice it was hard to choose what to try. The chef Albert and Len joined us afterwards - sitting chatting and drinking (watch out for those shots) will live with us for a long time. I cant recommend this accommodation enough, and the price was so low I had to ask if there was a mistake before I paid. After breakfast and good byes we went to Cango Caves which we found facinating and a very professional guide staff.
