We really enjoyed our stay at De Leeuwenhof. In particular, Daan and his family really made us feel welcome and at home there. We had many interesting conversations with them and the family went out of their away to give us lots of time and attention. As a tourist from England we really valued this personal attention.

De Leeuwenhof is one of the most wonderful places (not only in Africa) in which we have stayed. The estate is beautiful, the owners and friendly and helpful, the breakfast is delicious! Highly recommended!

Our room in the 'horse stable' was freshly refurbished and had a very tasteful interior. A beautiful pool and a perfect service made the picture complete. We still have the smell of the fruits in our noses. Thanks Daan for everything !

This accommodation was the cheapest on our week tour of the Cape Town area but also the best. Simple family atmosphere, yet very posh rooms, swimming pool... in the middle of the wine region. Run by a nice Dutch couple who greet you on arrival and inquire regularly if everything is fine, reserve restaurants for your evening meal when they don't cook themselves. Great

I recently stayed at the De Leeuwenhof Hotel for three weeks during a business trip in South Africa. I can honestly say that it has been one of the best places I have ever stayed at. The place is lovely, the rooms are spacious and clean with a nice rustic décor, the garden and fields around the hotel are very beautiful and peaceful. The food is very good too, with lovely breakfast offering a variety of choices, and the option to have a 3 course set menu for dinner at a very affordable price. I particularly enjoyed chilling out by the pool when I was not working, and also enjoyed the ‘braai’ i.e. a barbeque sitting by an open fire near the pool, where guests can socialize, relax and enjoy delicious food and wine. What made all the difference though was the impeccable service, this hotel is run by a wonderful Dutch family and they take pride in providing a very special service to all their guests. By the time I had to (sadly) leave this beautiful corner of the world, I felt I had become part of the family. Highly recommend staying there, I will definitely go back on holiday and visit The Leewenhof hotel again…

We recently spent a few memorable days at the lovely De Leeuwenhof Hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed the warm hospitality of Daan, Yvonne & their family. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel totally at home, and by the time we left we felt like old friends rather than guests. Our rooms were well equipped and very comfortable, and the meals were superb. The menus were interesting, the quality of the food excellent, and the service friendly and efficient. We certainly look forward to another wonderful visit to De Leeuwenhof in the near future!

From the outside, De Leeuwenhof looks like rustic elegance. From the inside, the European-style finishes complement the historical and natural splendour of this beautiful establishment. The architecture quietly blends with the natural environment, so that you are a part of nature even when you are in your bedroom. A comfortable stay with attention to the personal touch by the owner and his family, making this a special vacation experience. If you want television, let the owner know ahead of time as the quality of TV differs in some of the rooms: not a problem for those of us who want to really relax!
