My sister and our 2 sons aged 11 & 18 spent 2 nights here. We recieved a warm welcome from the staff. The property is set in the midst of vineyards, with spectacular views of the mountains & surrounding vineyards. We were shown into our rooms (a suite with a separate room for the boys to share) beautifully decorated, and leading to a family room where a fireplace made it feel so warm and homey in the cold weather.
The breakfast was amazing, lots of variety, including health fruits and yogurt. We treated ourselves to a spa; the staff there was really friendly as well. In the evening, they helped book us a table in town at Ernie Els' restaurant.
We had initially booked to stay just for a night and ended up staying for an extra one. We would have loved to stay longer though. My 11 year old son actually begged to be allowed to stay and work there...

Would love to come back in the summer; cannot imagine how beautiful the place is then. We will be back for sure.

Room Tip: For families, would recommend the Garden Family Suite - with an en-suite bathroom and access to a so...

Beautifully set amongst the vineyards along a little gravel road. The grounds have a nice pool and gardens. It can be a little tricky to find.
Upon arrival we were nicely welcomed, but the receptionist forgot us in the garden as she asked us to fill in the registration card and went back to her office. Overall, the staff seemed inexperienced and lacking interest in looking after the guests.
The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was a little disorganized and was average.
… based on other reviews, we might have been unlucky.

Room Tip: Ask a room on the 1st floor, rather than the ground floor. A new wing was built whilst we stayed… mi...

My husband and I stayed here for one night it was fantastic so relaxing we stay and had dinner and wow the food Was so good cook to perfection. I would highly recommend a stay here the rooms are so spacious with wonderful views of the mountains and vine yards. My husband had to work so I had a spa day there is also a really good gym and the out door pool was lovely and warm. Loads of out door space to find a place to read and the staff are so friendly I will be back again as soon as I can thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Up stairs then you get lovely views of the mountain

African Experience hosted a small intermit wedding at Wedgeview Country Lodge. We cannot thank their staff for all their assistance in making the wedding extra special for our two clients. Saying Wedgeview went the extra mile would be an understatement. We shall have no hesitate returning with future clients to this most beautiful setting in the Winelands.

I recently stayed for a week at Wedgeview for a business trip. The place is really relaxing and very beautiful. Rooms are more than excellent, nicely decorated and absolutely deserve five stars. The location in a spacious garden setting is just great: breakfast outside with view on the mountains and vineyards, relax at the swimming pool, spa and sauna or just have a good wine in the living room. The place is fantastic for holidays and for business or a combination of both! Staff is very nice, helpful and friendly. One feels very safe and well attended. I will recommend Wedgeviwe to friends and colleagues. I will definately go back here on the next trip.
(You need to have your own car because Wedgeview is i the countryside).

We just got back from a stay at Wedgeview and had a great time there. The grounds are gorgeous and the location is perfect...Stellenbosch city is a quick drive, but you are far enough away to enjoy the tranquility. What makes this place stand out is the staff. I have never stayed somewhere with a more attentive and helpful staff. On more than one occasion I was reminded that "I'm the guest", so I could sit back and relax while they handled the details. Everyone we encountered was wonderful, but I have to call out a special thanks to Palmyre. She make it a truly memorable trip for us, helped to arrange flowers for our anniversary and even made home made truffles that were delicious. We enjoyed talking with everyone who worked there and they really made us feel at home. Kudos to them for knowing what true hospitality is.

Room Tip: The superior rooms have the best views.

I'll begin saying that I wish I could give this property a 4.5 stars instead of having to choose between rating it either a 4 or a 5.
We had a fantastic time staying here. The room was extremely nice--much nicer than photographs reflect. There is a "secret" door in the wall of closets that leads to the bathroom. We absolutely loved that....so fun! The bathtub was large enough for two to fit in very comfortably and the towels and robes all had little sprigs of lavender on them to make them smell fantastic. Beds were comfortable and housekeeping did a great job. Dave met us when we arrived, offering us a glass of wine. All in all, wonderful!
The only couple of things that were not absolutely perfect were that they were constructing a new building on the property and we could hear workmen and hammering a bit earlier than we normally would have preferred. Not a big deal, but something for people to be aware of. Our room was very close to this new building...perhaps rooms facing another direction would be preferable until the construction phase is complete?
The pool was still a bit cold to use although it had some type of solar heating advertised (I think). Lastly, the staff at breakfast got a bit overwhelmed on the first day we were there--some unexpected guests had shown up during the night and they were a bit short on breakfast staff the following morning as a result. We totally understood...the poor girl who was waiting on us was doing a LOT...but as a result they ran out of fresh yogurt very early on and also some syrup we asked for was never brought to the table. Again, no big deal really....it happens....it's just that I feel like these couple of things dropped the overall rating just a tad.
Still, I would stay here again without hesitation. The price was wonderful and the room was so nice. The owner was friendly...as were the staff we met. Overall a VERY nice stay at a VERY nice property. I recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Ask if construction is still going on....if so, you might want to try to find a room which is not ri...
