On our honeymoon we booked two nights in the Asara. It met up with all our expectations. We really felt like honeymooners! A postcard was slipped under our door the next morning from the Asara staff, wishing us a wonderful honeymoon! The views are amazing, the staff very friendly and they really got out of their way to make sure we had a great time. The last morning we had to depart early and they prepared an amazing breakfast box for us. We'll definitely stay here again one day!

Absolutely stunning wine estate and highly recommended!!!

We've stayed at Asara wine estate for 3 nights in April 2014. On arrival we received a free upgrade for a room with an absolutely gorgeous view over the dam, vineyards and mountains. The room was very spacious with a balcony where we enjoyed cheese and wine in the evening. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made it a pleasure to stay there.

The estate has a lot to offer as well, from wine tasting, relaxing next to the pool, enjoying the spa, all the way to multiple cafes & restaurants to choose from.

Situated just outside Stellenbosch, the location is perfect for being close to the hustle and bustle of the town if you want it, but far enough out to feel you are in the middle of a bubble of peace when you sit on your balcony enjoying the sunrise. Being that close to Stellenbosch also had the advantage of wine tour companies being happy to come and pick you up, which we definitely made use of.

Finally, food was fabulous and it makes for a very romantic setting having dinner at one of the tables next to the water, so make sure you book to get one. Having had very warm weather whilst we were there, one of the wines we thoroughly enjoyed with dinner was the WhiteCab which is one of Asara's signature wines. For any wine lovers, try this out!

We attended the Asara Wine Estate during the Easter Period in 2014. The Estate can only be described as Magnificent. It's pretend beauty , coupled with its tranquil atmosphere place it we'll above its competitors.
The Signature Restaurant,Raphael's with its superb service and mouth watering food was definitely worth-while.
This is definitely a place to go to for a beautiful and romantic getaway both got a day or a weekend.
Both my wife and I love the place to bits.
Asara truly deserves it's 5 star status.

Incredible service from the moment we drove up to the private gate - felt very exclusive and luxurious. Gorgeous view of the vineyard and mountains. Cocktails and nibbles served poolside, ice cream/deli and great bar for evening drinks. Didn't give top marks because the food wasn't quite our style - though sure others would disagree. Menu was definitely high-end, but after a day drinking wine and chilling by the pool we weren't looking for such a heavy meal (note that there is food available at the bar, which we enjoyed one night but could have done with more selection there the second night). Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We arrived and were upgraded to a suite which was bigger than most London apartments! The style is quite traditional (antique style) but the fixtures and fittings are modern. We had afternoon tea to start which was great and accompanied by a huge glass of champagne and then had a very tasty evening meal in the restaurant. Their wine is lovely and so cheap with the exchange rate (a large glass working out at around £1!). We went for a sunset walk up into the vineyards and it was amazing to be able to get high and see the surrounding mountains change colour to an orangey/red as the sun was setting. Breakfast was so tasty also- a real feast! Great value, fantastic service and such good food- I would recommend!

Superb service from the moment we drove up! Faultless service throughout (except the one member of her staff on her phone on the reception desk in the restaurant whenever we walked past hiding it in her pocket as we walked past!!)
The views were stunning. We were told when we checked in we had the brochure view from our balcony, superb view. Room was very modern and clean. Breakfast was good.
Only slight downside was the wine tasting no real input from staff, in fact they stood in reception talking among themselves whilst we were drinking the wine, great wine almost made up for it though!!

Stayed for a number of days April 2014 . Booked directly on the hotels web site which has yielded rates so if book at the right time can get amazing prices and as such remarkable value for money .

The views are really spectacular and can be enjoyed also from the pool and breakfast verandah .

Courtyard rooms do not enjoy this view but nonetheless overlook a tranquil courtyard and convenient for pool and other facilities .

Staff is happy and obliging .

Breakfasts are spectacular with great bread and pastries .

Did not dine in the main restaurant but Sansibar has good snack menu with good value Asara wine and satellite sports channels .

Great cakes etc in delicatessen .

Rooms very good with lage bathrooms .

Will not hesitate to return .
