We spent three nights at this very good wine estate near Stellenbosch. We had a fabulous room overlooking a small lake. We had a package which included dinner, bed, breakfast, afternoon tea and wine tasting. Unbelievably good value. Estate wine really good. Great cocktails in comfortable lounge bar. Fab breakfast, good dinner (wholesome rather than fancy). Helpful staff overseen by excellent and efficient manager (Pete). Well done all - will be back!

Room Tip: Get a ground floor room with patio overlooking lake.

We spent two nights here on a month long journey through Zambia; S.A & Mauritius for my 50th. We took much care in selecting our wine estate and are so glad we picked Asara. Our room had a huge verandah overlooking the vineyards and from here the sunsets over the mountains was beautiful. The room was very comfortable with a luxury bathroom and bath products produced locally. Our breakfasts were very enjoyable taken out on the balcony and with all the choices we could have wishes for - I recommend the omelettes. We ate dinner here on the second night and only regret we didn't eat here on the first too. We chose to try Opi Dorp which was okay but just okay. They seemed to lack serving staff which meant our meals were extraordinarily slow and not all we were led to believe they would be. If you decide to stay at Asara you will not be disappointed.

We spent four nights at the Asara and found it very comfortable, within easy drive to the other wine estates. The staff could not have been any friendlier. We ate in the bar and restaurant during our stay and enjoyed the food. Would certainly go back when next visiting the area.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the ponds.

Such a beautiful venue! Pop in to their deli on the grounds. There they serve delicious cappuccino and have a great selection of the most divine cakes and pastries, at really good prices. They also have an interesting selection of gifts for tourists to purchase.

I took advantage of The R1000 special if you check-in, in person after 4pm. I was really impressed with the overall experience and extended my stay for 2 more nights. Beautiful, spacious rooms and friendly staff. Good value, close to Cape Town and Winelands.

We just spent a week at the Asara and it couldn't have been better, the location is absolutely stunning and so convenient for the wineries of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschoek, all within 20-30 minutes. An easy drive to False Bay, the Cape Town waterfront and the Cape of Good Hope, no real distance to Hermanus and further along the cost so why not return each evening to the superb Raphael restaurant or the Sansibar. The Estate makes good wine too, it Chardonay and Cabernet sauvignon are among the best in the area and like so many top vineyards they make good blends too. The food quality was excellent, both breakfast and dinner and enough variety for a short stay. August is not the best month to visit but it turned out really well. The staff were all helpful and efficient - all except for the wine tasting team and their dreary facility, probably the worst of the dozen or so we tried on this visit. The facility really wants a rocket to market the good product from the vineyard. Asara produces excellent single grape varieties and some good blends, particularly the Fusion and Bell Tower, the White Cab is also very interesting but avoid the Nouveau...........
Really would like to squeeze in another week in the Western Cape and if we can ever manage that we'll go back to the Asara

Found Asara on Tripadvisor when we decided to stay a bit longer in the beautiful Western Cape. Turned out a to be a very good decision. Absolute 5 star room, 5 star service all round, 5 star food. Loved your style. Even bought a couple of cases of wine.
