My husband and I stayed at Caledon Villa for 3 nights. We met up with our nephew who was a faculty member of the International Chamber Music Festival in Stallenbosch. Upon our arrival, we were met by Johan and Ode Krige. The rooms at the guest home are large, very comfortable, clean, and very well maintained. The grounds were gorgeous and the view from the upper deck is breath taking. I highly recommend Caledon Villa. It is located within walking distance to the university, center of the town near great restaurants and a beautiful garden. Caledon Villa is the perfect place to stay. Their food is delicious. Johan, Ode, Bernice, Carisa, and staff maked our stay a remarkable memory. If you are going to visit Stallenbosch for any reason, put Caledon Villa high on your list to stay. You won't regret the choice. Colberts, Texas

My wife and i stayed just 1 night while touring the wine country...The accommodation was very comfortable and cozy and the decor consisted of interesting artifacts and paintings.

The rooms were spacious and clean, although i felt the bathrooms were quite small and cramped, but its manageable. The location was convenient, about 10 mins walk from the town center

My wife had unfortunately sprained her ankle very badly and Johan sent us an email once we returned home enquiring about her wellbeing. Nice touch and very considerate!

A treasure for those interested in South African history and culture. Its owners, the Krige family trace their lineage through seven generations and have artefacts and items of interest throughout the Guest House. The place is well run, clean and the staff welcoming. A perfect place to stay when you want to explore Stellenbosch.

I use to stay at Caledon Villa since 2010 at least twice a year, on my way to and from the rooibos producing fields of the Clanwilliam surrounding the Cederberg mountains for a research trip. Apart from the very historical and architectural designs and collections which magnify the beauty of this VILLA, the very friendly and family like approach of the personels like Brenice, Carrisa and Ode is so marvellous!!

I stayed at Caledon Villa for 4 nights to attend a graduation at the university. The property is perfectly located in a quiet spot ideal for the university, the sports grounds (where graduation takes place) and the historic centre of the town. The service provided by Johan and his staff couldn't be faulted including airport pick-up and organising a hire car at short notice. Excellent breakfast and in-room facilities and the villa garden is a lovely place to relax. One small gripe was that my bed wasn't so comfortable, but that may simply be my personal preference (and the effects of jetlag), so I won't hesitate to use Caledon Villa again when I return next year.

We stayed for two nights at Caledon Villa. The owner, Johan, was very service minded, helping us out with planning of routes, maps and places to visit. Great breakfast.

Our room had a small terrace but was facing the parking. Even though the guesthouse was nicely kept in its original style, perhaps our room felt a bit worn out.

The location was great, just a short walk from the city and in a nice neighborhood.

Stellenbosch has become over the years our favorite stay in South Africa. Fine dining , fine wine, historic building, lots of great little shops , a young dynamic population in the streets .... oh yes
and of course Johan , Ode and staff at the Caledon Villa.
This year arriving and departing from Capetown airport,we choose the Caledon as our first stop 4 nights and as our last stop also 4 nights. As return guests our 7 th stay we were warmly welcomed
but rest assured Johan goes out of his way for all his guests and can be most helpful for first time visitors.
Great variety of rooms, great location, lovely garden with pool and general ambience that contributes to an exceptionnal stay and that feeling of a second home
