The setting, the atmosphere, the service, the food, the wine...An unforgettable experience in all levels. Would visit SA just to visit the place again. Big thanks to the staff that despite we arrived in very touristic and casual outfits their professionalism exceeded expectations - gave us the best table in the restaurant and made this dinner something to remember.

Could not book a table for lunch so hit and miss! Luckily my host knew the owner and a plan was made under the oaks and what a great venue. Menu had only one choice, steak and chips or just keep drinking the complimentary glass of Shiraz which very quickly turned into the purchase of several bottles. Chalmar sirloin steak was cooked to perfection, no starters, no desert, not even a menu, rather unique and do not ask for fish of the day!!
This is the lunchtime routine, I believe the dinner menu is to die for....and the price!
Will return.

From the moment we arrived at the picturesque restaurant and were asked to choose from a variety of Champagnes to enjoy, to when we left with smiles on our faces, we were treated like royalty. The 6 course menu is divine, particularly the lamb. And the cheeses, both french and south african, were perfectly ripe. With the most extensive wine list in africa, there is a wine for everyone. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy.

We had the six course meal with wine pairings. The wine pairings were excellent. At first I didn't think I would like the food but the preparations won me over. The staff was wonderful.

Being ranked the number one is certainly well derserved. The drive to the vineyard offers a very scenic route. The restaurant itself is set in a lovely part of the vineyard. The staff are professional, knowlegeable and very attentive (not a lot of this lately in many prominent restaurants around the world).

Wine pairing are exemplenary and the food was definitely prepared to compliment each wine selection. Unfortunately, the one I enjoyed the most was a reserved and was not for sale. We will surely be back in this place.
