The lady Phillips Restaurant situated 100 yards from the Vergelegen Homestead is housed in a cottage with beautiful garden. We booked a table in advance and sat in glorious sunshine and enjoyed fabulous food and wine. Its an hours drive from Cape Town Centre but the visit to the estate ( you pay a small entrance fee) is well worth the trip. The Estate has a long history - the slave bell still hangs in th egrounds. The sight of the mountains is stunning.
The bill of only £25 per head inc. wine is such good value for a signature restaurant.
