My girlfriend and had the pleasure of staying at Coopmanhuijs in April 2011.

It’s is a beautiful boutique hotel situated in the heart of Stellenbosch. The staff is friendly and cordial and the hotel stylishly decorated. There is a lot of olde world charm in the reception area, lounge, and kitchen.

The room was luxurious with a large dramatic bed and a soft comfortable duvet. We especially enjoyed our balcony which overlooks the centre of Stellenbosch and from where one can experience the beauty of it’s trees. At night the area is buzzing with activity and there is a abundance of restaurants and shops. On the day we left my girlfriend had a back and neck massage at the spa and judging by her calm and glow the rest of the day it seems that this also had the desired effect :-)

We especially enjoyed being treated so well by their staff. I would like to extend a special thanks to Ilzebet who is one of the nicest and most friendly people we’ve ever met at a hotel. I would highly recommend Coopmanhuijs for people who enjoy luxury but who also likes to be treated with down-to-earth great service. I give this place 6 stars for both location and exceptional service.

This is a great hotel in every aspect. Our well appointed room had one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The bathroom was huge and had very high quality fixtures and a wonderful shower. There was a large hallway in our room while the living space was average sized. We also had a nice balcony overlooking the pool.

The common areas are decorated in traditional tones and looked very classy. Everything was extremely clean including two sitting rooms off the entrance. The free breakfast was amazing with a very sizable assortment of hot and cold options. We wished they were open for lunch and dinner (you need to make an appointment in advance). There is also an attached spa - I had a very nice massage at a reasonable rate. The only drawbacks I recall were the spotty in-room internet reception and the lack of a fitness room.

The hotel is right in the heart of Stellenbosch so you can walk to everything. We are looking forward to a return visit at the Coopmanjuijs.

We stayed here in early Dec. for three nights. Elizabeth, gm of the hotel is fantastic..
Our room was lovely and the breakfast is home made and delicious. There is secure parking if you have a car or the hotel can arrange for a pick up at the airport and private tours in the wine country and the cape of good hope. This is a perfect hotel to relax after a long flight to SA. There are only 16 rooms. We had a luxury room.
We loved this hotel, the location was perfect for walking the city and exploring the area.
We highly recommend this hotel .

Great hotel right on one of the streets with most bars and restaurants in Stellenbosch. It is a very comfortable hotel (not necessarily five stars though) with excellent service. The rooms have fantastic beds and a spacious. The breakfast was the only one in South Africa, where we actually had fresh orange jus.

My wife and I travelled to Stellenbosch for our 6 months wedding anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm hospitality and fantastic welcome received at Coopmanhuijs, perfectly located in Stellenbosch (very Central). We immediately fell in love with the hotel. The staff treated us like royalty and every little detail was taken care off. The decor complimented the extremely old building perfectly. I loved the "open kitchen", leading out to the most relaxing pool area (unfortunately our visit was during winter, and lying next to the pool wasn't really an option). And then, just when you think you've seen it all...the spa area awaited! Wow! The treatment received there was sublime!

When we were taken to our room, the surprises kept on coming...ice cold champagne, the most delicious litte treats prepared by the patisserie chef (we left the hotel in the evening to dine elsewhere, but when we returned, more "little delicatessens " were taken to our room).

The room was beautifully decorated, and had a very warm atmosphere. I had my best night of sleep ever in the massive bed with the 100% Egyptian cotton bedding! The bathroom (with underfloor heating) was also very beautifully renovated recently (impressive bath tub and a very nicely sized shower).

The following morning, breakfast was superb! Freshly baked homemade bread, farm-style breakfast, crepes with a delightful berry sauce....the menu had so many nice meals to choose from!

The staff members were all very friendly, courteous, warm...they were really good! Thank you so much to everyone at Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel and Spa; you will most definately see us again!
