“A little bit different! great!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2013

This is a little house at the end of the street with two inside rooms and a small terrace on the street with about four tables. I had the Chief Mqalo (steak with tomatoes and onions with cheese on a bread), washed down with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Very tasty and inexpensive food! Jeanette made us feel very welcome and translated the (Afrikaans) menu for us! A bit out of the ordinary compared to all the other restaurants nearby, and worth trying.
Recommended!

“Intimate little getaway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2013 via mobile

Such a nice place for just sitting down, kicking back and relaxing. Invite a friend that you want to seriously catch up with and you are in for a day of good conversation, food and drinks. Thumbs up!

“Quaint cafe to get stuck at for hourse”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2013 via mobile

The idea of keeping it simple has always been successful. 15-20 items (incl drinks) on the menu that are well priced and presented. Get into the friendly relaxed atmosphere, and you could be stuck here for hours. Loved it!

“Great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2013

Great locally brewed beer. The menu is in Afrikaans, but if you are hungry (and there are at least two of you) try De Stomme Jonge platter - you wont regret it!

“excellent lunch spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 March 2013

We stumbled across this place for lunch by accident, it is on the corner of Dorp Street and the street with the Village Museum. The menu is in Afrikaans only and it specialises in traditional Cape Dutch food, we really enjoyed the cold meat and cheese platter with cold beer. It first very well with the Stellenbosch theme of traditional Cape Dutch heritage. Recommended for lunch.
