“Lovely place”
Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

The Devon Valley hotel is a very lovely place to stay! The reception team is very friendly and check-in was very fast.
The rooms are clean and big enough. All the buildings are very charming and you feel very relaxed as soonas you arrive. We had a breathtaking view over the vineyards.
If you arrive by your own car, there is no parking problem, there are enough parkings available.
The food in the restaurant is on a very high level and all is fresh arranged. We enjoyed a wine-and-dine special.
We can recommend this hotel to all and we would love to stay again in this lovely place.

Beautiful setting and old school exceptional service stood out for me!

Lovely spacious rooms with good quality linen, bathrooms incl Victorian bath and double shower.

Food was of very good quality on every occasion and well presented.

Nothing was to much trouble for any staff member and really everyone made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Will be back....

Room Tip: Ask for room with door opening outside to patio.

We stayed in this hotel as part of our tour of South Africa. We were met with a cold glass of wine which was most welcome! The hotel has stunning views across the valley and sitting on the terrace looking across was a wonderful experience.

Our room was adequate but a little small and it was difficult to find space to put the cases in. There was also very little storage space. The other issue with the room was that it was very overlooked so when changing etc, we had to draw very thick curtains which shut out all the natural light. There is also no safe for valuables. However, the bed was comfortable.

The food in the hotel was generally good, particularly breakfast. However, the evening buffet was a little sparse for vegetarians. The Malaysian buffet evening was excellent however. The wine list was very good and the prices really reasonable.

All the members of staff were friendly and helpful.

The pool was nice with great views but it was really cold. It is a shame it is set in a shady area as it would have than benefited from some natural heat!

Couldn't ask for more from a hotel: Perfect rooms beautifully decorated with a huge walk in shower and a free standing bath tub. Patio surrounded with flowers overlooking the vineyards at the bottom of the hills and the mountains in the distance.

Delicious food and very nice staff. Would have loved to have stayed a bit longer.

The best hotel we stayed at during our wonderful Riviera Travel South African tour - and they were all pretty good!
The room was a short walk from the main dining and bar areas - but what a lovely room (with WOW factor)! As good as any we have stayed in over the past few years. Very clean, very spacious, sumptuous beds, flat screen TV, nice views etc.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful.
All in all - well done Devon Valley - we would recommend you to anyone.

Room Tip: Some rooms in the main building were very small so do INSIST on one in the annex - you will then not...

We attended a travel and tourism congress at the hotel. On it's own, a challenging affair as travel and tourism professionals are the worst to satisfy in this environment. I could not fault anything - from the conference facilities to the rooms - all perfect. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I experienced the management as generous and efficient and my room was great! The bathroom was spacious with a very comfortable bath and a shower with the biggest head I have ever seen! It was crisp and clean with all the necessary amenities. The huge king sized bed was covered with good linen and the pillows exactly the way I like it. The space was amazing and my room opened on to a beautiful Boland garden overlooking the vineyards. Breakfast was good and plentiful and the service friendly and efficient. There was live music on the stoep in front of the bar on Saturday evening which created a relaxed atmosphere. Once you find this gem in the vineyards (signage not always visible) , you are in for a real treat. I can highly recommend this hotel - for leisure and business.

Room Tip: Rooms 34 to 50 are my favorite.
