Description: Eight is Spier's farm-to-table eating experience. Like its name, the restaurant is an expression of balance, cycles, harmony, infinity and abundance. The produce used at Eight is either grown on the farm or sourced from nearby farmers. Natural and organic ingredients are preferred and combined to create nourishing, healthy, and delicious food.

We sat under the trees sipping their delicious red wine out of rather lovely wine glasses (made from recycled cola bottles) and enjoying lovely fresh food - sesame chicken and Asian greens salad, chicken and mushroom pie with fresh vegetables - and the kids (age 8 and 4) chose sesame chicken fingers which came with chunky chips and salad. Kids menu also had macaroni cheese or a burger. Beautiful grounds that children played in while we relaxed for the afternoon before going wine, cheese and chocolate tasting (as if we weren't full enough)! We then wandered through the animal outreach part which we had to pay for but was worth it, stroking owls etc. A lovely few hours spent here and definitely worth a visit.

We had a lunch at Eight last Year in December. The quality of food is very good. Variety of the menu sufficient. All ingredients are fresh and one can taste it. The service exceptional (Really). The venue, fantastic. I think it deserves to be in much higher in the hierarchy of the Stellenbosch restaurants.

I recently had lunch with my sister at Eight Restaurant at Spier. Initially we thought it was just another bistro, but we were soon pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing. You can TASTE the freshness and natural flavours of the food - all sourced from the estate. Our waiter, Francois, was friendly and funny and took the time to show us the hidden secrets of the bistro - from the light shades made from recycled bleach bottles, to the tapestry-style art on the walls made from recycled newspaper. We left in a much better mood than we arrived, the great bubbly and chardonnay definitely contributing to this fact! A must if your looking for value for money and an anassuming environment!

We had lunch at Eight's deli. The service was nice and of course Spier is great, but our food was below average. Firstly, there are very little choices and most are produced by the deli itself it seems, but it didn't taste very nice. Not worth it.

We had lunch at Eight and it was outstanding. The service was excellent. From the farm bread and butter, green juice made from biodynamically grown produce ( which the waiter explained with obvious authority) to the main meals and dessert - everything was good! I opted for the sesame chicken salad and followed with a flourless chocolate cake(yummy), while the rest of the table chose the chicken and leek pie with green vegetables and chocolate brownies, which they loved. We sat inside under a beautifully lit ceiling that made you feel like you were somewhere magical. The pricing was so reasonable as well! Wonderful seating outside as well!
I will definitely go back and recommend the experience for business, couples, friends or family. Eight also has picnic options and a fantastic wine list.
