The location is perfect : in the centre , not far from the wine-estates, Franchhoek ......
The hotel has a valet-parking, witch is important, because it' difficult to find place .
It is a very beautifull hotel . We ware 2 nights there, we are a cupple , we asked a standard room , but we got a familyroom : that was realy not niece : we feld unhappy : it was situated out of the hotel : in a dirty, smelly alley ,the back of restaurants : we felt excluded from the hotel!
That offers a star-hotel such rooms !
We complained to the manager ; and he gave us , and provided that pay extra, a superior room, and that was excellent ! we were happy.
We have diner in the hotel : excellent , and affordabel .You can sit in- and outside:very cozy .
Breakfast was very good.
For lunch : it is a must to go to the Delaire-Graff wine-estate.
A must of restaurant also is : The Big Easy from golfer Ernie Els : great !

Room Tip: don't reserve a familyroom

The Oude Werf is in a fantastic location in Stellenbosch, it's right in the centre of the town so you have lovely freedom to explore the streets at your leisure. We had one of the refurbished rooms which was very comfortable and quiet and overlooked the pool. The breakfast team and John are a great team and you are made to feel very welcomed. The reception team also did a great job of assisting us with planning our wine tours. We would highly recommend this hotel.

A short stay is not our recommendation.
We arrived early and were given the opportunity to freshen up, have a cuppa before our room was made available and with our bags delivered.
In the mean time we walked the lovely quaint streets steeped in history and shops to drool over. Mmmmm chocolate!!!
Dinner was impressive even when the staff were run off their feet and renovations were in progress. Well done guys.
The wine tours are to sip, slip, tip about, ah never mind you know what I mean, just fantastic - scenery, museum, train/bus? and of course the wineries and wines/food are just superb.
The rooms are large, clean and are suprisingly quiet adeside the main street.

This hotel is very historic with many antique finishes and sections of the old inn remaining. The bathroom in my room was ultra modern and very functional while the bedroom was large and comfortable. I was next to the pool but found no problem with noise. The staff was exceptionally helpful and the breakfast setting lovely. The Oude Werf was on a street of shops and restaurants with many more just around the corner. There is also WiFi available. Anyone coming to Stellenbosch or the Wine district would enjoy staying here.

Room Tip: Visit in the spring or fall as summers (Dec-Feb) are very hot and winters (June-Aug) cool.

We stayed here on the last leg of our honeymoon - it was fantastic! You DEFINITELY want to spring for one of the Deluxe rooms (#121 if you can get it!). Delicious breakfast and fantastic service from the individuals at the front desk and the restaurant. Cute little pool area. Great location right near the downtown shops and restaurants. This was my favorite place we stayed of any of the places on our honeymoon - so romantic. Thank you!

My boyfriend and I had an exceptional experience in this hotel. The people (expecially at the reception) are so professional and will go an extra mile to help. The location is excellent and the room is clean and every thing in it is fully functional.

Room Tip: Rooms within the main building (not the apartment style) is quieter however if you prefer space, def...

This was our final night in South Africa before heading home to the UK and we had expected this hotel to be up to the same very high standard as we had found everywhere else. We were disappointed however. Our rooms at the front of the hotel in the old part were large but cold and dark, the furniture was an odd and shabby mixture of antique and 1990's office and the bathrooms were sadly in need of a refit. We found out later that the hotel does have more modern rooms that might have been more comfortable for us, but we didn't realise that at the time. There was an air conditioning/heating unit in the room (but not in the bathroom) which did warm it up eventually but it would have been nicer to have been welcomed with a warm, bright room. The wifi signal was also poor in the room and I had to wander around the hotel with my laptop to find a signal strong enough to check in for our flights the next day.
We didn't experience breakfast as we had to leave too early for the airport but the hotel kindly made up a packed breakfast for us. The bright spot was that the staff were friendly and tried to be helpful, but couldn't make the wifi work any better. Parking right under the hotel was also very convenient and the location is good for walking around Stellenbosch (although we were there Sunday afternoon/evening and very little was open).

Room Tip: During the winter months you may want to specify one of the more modern rooms.
