This is a very difficult review to write, as the property and owner-host is great in some areas and lacking in others...

The property: should be great in summer when one can use the pool and the stunning garden. The immediate surrounds is well kept, but outside of that area, the long grass ect doesn't give a great first impression.

The rooms: We stayed in the Blue Room. The bathroom (with seperate toilet) is HUGE, and the underfloor heating a treat and very welcome. Also great bathroom amenities. BUT: the broken tiles/ spa bath pump isn't good, and the cob webs in the toilet cubicle was shocking (also saw cob webs on top of the bedroom cupboard). At a first glance it looks clean, but on closer inspection, it is disturbing. Also, lots of dirt/dust inside the sleeper coach. The "kitchen cupboard" in the bedroom is very well equipped and a great idea. Also lots of storage space in the huge room, with aircon and lots of sports channels to watch.

Biggest let down was that I specifically asked for TWIN BEDS, and ended up with a King bed - not great if you are not staying with a partner. (Therefor we explored the sleeper coach as a possible second bed and was put off that idea by the dust/dirt inside).

The owner-host is very nice and accomodating and served a great breakfast, but isn't always on the premise either (could inconvenience some people if and when they need something).

Will we stay again? Doubt it, as some other places does have smaller, but cleaner rooms which offer beter value for money and TWIN BEDS!

Whilst it is nice to be located right on the R44 that leads to...nearly everywhere, getting on and of this R44 is also a bit of a hassle as that road is very busy at times, with fast moving traffic.

A week before our wedding we stayed at Kleinbosch Lodge and this was the best booking we could ever have made!! We had a very warm welcome on arrival and the room and spacious bathroom was perfect for ALL the luggage we had. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was pure bliss on those cold mornings and evenings. Breakfast was lovely as we had a large selection to choose from. Hans is a real people's-person and made our stay so lovely and welcome . .almost like visiting friends. We would like to thank Hans and his team for making that stressful week most memorable!! We are planning to go back there again and again . .

This was our second time staying at Kleinbosh with Hans. We love the place. The location is perfect, not too far from Cape Town and very close to wineyards. The bedrooms are very spacious with plenty of storage for the longer staying guests. Hans is very good host who offers plenty of tips and suggestions and goes out of his way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. As many reviews have mentioned the breakfast buffet is outstanding and great value for money. We would not think twice about staying here again:)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kleinbosch Lodge and wished we had more time there. You can tell that Hans (the owner) really enjoys running the place - he's very warm, attentive, and entertaining. The breakfast buffet is great - in addition to the usual eggs etc. there's lots of fresh fruit, bread, and cheese. Yummy! And breakfast is a great opportunity to meet the other guests and chat and exchange tips and stories. The rooms are spacious and the whole "package" is great value for money. Some of the other guests there have been staying there every year for many years, and we would definitely go back to Kleinbosch Lodge again next time we're in the area. Highly recommended!

we were on vacation with friends. Hans the owner of the complex helpt us finding a good room on his complex. He gave us for a good price two rooms next to each other with a kitchen and terras. We enjoied his lifeliness and good humor. Thanks for reservation of restaurant and bringing the girls to Stellenbosch when we were on the golfcourse.

After around 20 different Guesthouses, always connected with complains, we finally found the ultimate Place. Starting from the most friendly host I ever met, over the huge rooms with an amazing Bathroom ( bigger than some guesthouse rooms) and some very nice and helpful details, a clean and perfect placed Pool till a delicious breakfast. The choices are amazing. All kind of breads, fruits, cereals, juices and more. Of course english breakfast as well.
The Host has always fantastic tips for trips, wine-tastings and restaurants.
Also this Place has finally a real fast internet connection which is surprisingly rare here in South Africa.
We enjoyed every second and we will definitely come back.
We missed nothing at all. Thank u very much
