We visited end of February 2014 the Fairy Glen Safari Worcester (day tour from Cape Town). It costs a lot of money entrance and the safari was poor. Animals in prision - no big 5. Disapponiting performance! Where were the big 5? Overspended money for poor safari and caged/inprisioned animals. This "safari" was not worth the money!!!! We will not recommend it! We visied Fairy Glen October 2013, its ok if you do not have expectations of seeing big 5, lovely scenic views, elephants stuck in sheds, lions in enclosed area that looked like they wouldn't move if a lamb walked past, food ok staff are nice, but waste of money if you want more than good views and a meal

I would like to thank all staff members of Fairy Glen Game Reserve for the lovely time I had at Fairy Glen game reserve. Everyone was very friendly. The place is beautiful, the food was great and accommodation was such lovely. A special thank you to our ranger, Andrew for the lovely nature walk and a wonderful close encounter with the animals. He always made sure we were close to them to enjoy the experience and yet exercising caution at all times. He has a vast knowledge of the animals and the area and so passionate about what he does.

I came there by myself for some peace and a breakaway to a refreshing experience and it was more than what I expected. I would love to come back again someday to show some friends of mine. You have a beautiful place indeed; the scenic views of the mountains and the plants is incredible, I took over 300 photos. Thank you and keep up the great work!

Room Tip: The room with a balcony at the top shows a great view of the area

Can't say enough good things about fairy glen, great food, great surroundings, welcoming and value for money. If you are in Africa for Safari only holiday or have time for a 3-5 day safari then yes go to Kruger but if you have limited time, want to see animals close up and positive conservation then this is a great place. Our guide Andrew was fantastic and made every minute interesting and informative.

Highly recommended

I recently had a brief stopover in Cape Town and used the opportunity to head out to Fairy Glen. Could not recommend it more highly for anybody else in that situation. It was easy to get to, in a beautiful location and well operated by friendly staff.

My guide for the overnight stay (Shaun) was fantastic and definitely made the whole experience even better.

To anyone expecting a luxurious, isolated and exclusive safari - Fairy Glen is not for you. My recommendation is to embrace it for what it is (a little rough around the edges) and not be disappointed by what it is not.

Actually, if you define the place as bad you would still be doing it a favor. It is worse than that. The place is all about marketing and sales. Nobody is saying that profit or revenue should not be an integral part of their business enterprise/model but considering how expensive it is the value is not there. They shipped in a few healthy and a few wounded animals, placed them in a confined area and take the tourists around promoting it as a Safari experience. In reality it is just an oversized zoo. The guide's jokes were not interesting. He tried to take up the time quizzing us. The food was mediocre at best. The moment they removed the plastic from the trays the flies went at it. The food handlers did not even try to chase them away. They were everywhere. It was enough to spoil anyone's appetite.

Fairy Glen Safaris, a family owned business about a hour from Cape Town is set at the foot of the world famous Brandwacht Mountains. It was the cherised dream of the latest owner, Piet de Jager to transform the land into a big 5 game reserve, which was eventually realised through his commitment and dedication over the years.
