We were warmly welcomed to this beautiful Estate, Leipzig. When entering the gate you are sure to know that you have arrived at a special place! Roses and vines to greet you and then the warm welcome by the staff. The Reception and dining hall take you a step back in time. An old village atmosphere has been re-created on this 200 year old working farm ! The en-suite suites are all tastefully decorated and supply the basic needs for a comfortable stay. We would have enjoyed a stocked mini-bar, which is not available in the bedrooms, however there is an honesty bar in the main area which closes at a certain time. Be sure to take your bottled water as the farm water from the tap is not drinkable. The rooms do have tea-trays. Breakfast was delightful. A small selection of fruit, cereal and fruit was served together with a hot breakfast of choice.

My husband stayed at Leipzig a week back for a business conference. The guest house and buildings are pleasant but will not be to everyone's taste. The food satisfactory but unspectacular with a limited breakfast offering. The main dining and meeting rooms (which are the converted old concrete cellars) are an eclectic mix of paint effect walls, high beamed ceilings and eccentric murals and paintings. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. He ended up in the annex which has sub-standard rooms - not sure if that was because the place was full but any lettable rooms need to have a TV, aircon (or at least a fan), and tea and coffee facilities. Those rooms don't - the others seem to have.

Room Tip: Not the annex!

Situated 8 km off R60 at the very end of the Nuy Valley it is in a nice setting. We got here based on an ad in Larry Gould's Guide to Golf showing 5 Stars, we are a bit disappointed. Service was friendly, the room spacious, clean and air conditioned, but sparecely furnished. No cabinets. The food and the wine were good. But in the bathroom was an ant trail across the floor, the shower hardly spent any water, mostly cold. Although friendly, the service was very slow and inefficient. On the plus side is the free WiFi in the room. there were 2 other guests, most rooms empty. The price was ok.
Our overall rating: 3 Stars.

Room Tip: We did not have a reservation, just walked in and inspected several rooms before choosing one.

Located in the Nuy Valley Leipzig Country Lodge has a lot to offer. We stayed for two nights and found the staff to be friendly.

We ate in the restaurant on site for both nights and the food was amazing and excellent value for money.

Leipzig country house is a family run business and it shows. They welcome you with open arms and make it their mission to make your stay the best that it can be. Positioned in the Nuy valley, the view is breathtaking. They cultivate and produce their own wines and take the time out to teach you about it. The Chardonnay is my favorite. The food was amazing and it is evident that fresh produce is being used. I would definitely go back there and possibly stay for longer.

The scenic, peaceful Nuy Valley is home to olive groves, vineyards, and mixed agriculture all against a background of blue mountains between Worcester and Robertson on Route 62 between Cape Town and the Garden Route. Home to delicious Willow Creek olive oils and the famed red muscadel from Nuy Winery (pronounced Nay), plus some historic farms, Leipzig is a guest farm at the end of the road and the best property to stay at. Whilst one must be aware it is geared too for conferences and meetings, so if a couple, check what groups are there at the time, it has an excellent chef, scenic views and a lovely garden with owls close to our room. Some rather unusual local art, friendly staff, it is a rambling mix of older and newer accommodation options, which offer comfort if not luxury. Nuy is worth the detour and we were pleased to overnight here before our next stop Montagu.

Room Tip: On booking find out the room types available and best to have a room away from the main farmhouse if...
