Been here last Nov , 2013 for my anniversary . No welcome at the entrance , highly un-professional staff . The room belongs to the 80's with old air con and subtle lighting .

The worst part is the breakfast . Only Foreigners are treated well here and taken care of . Indians are just not needed as per the staff .

Such racism goes on here in this so called Resort . Please dont waste your time and money on this property .....

The sun beds on the sunny side of the main pool are reserved by 0500 and some guests do not pitch up to the "reserved" subbed until 1030! Early risers do not get a chance to get a sunbed. Your staff should. E encouraged to remove towels from unoccupied sun eds and let the other guests have a chance to get a sunbed.

firstly some of the reviews are petty. This is 2*+ hotel. No english tv channels in down to licencing.

We stayed in room 254 futhur away from main block but rooms very nice and exceptionally clean. Honestly I havent been to anywhere cleaner. We mainly stayed round furthest away pool as was quieter and normally got sunbeds. Sizzler night was ok but desert was like slop and chicken a little bland. Breakfast was pretty standard and was missing fruit which would of been nice. We dont normally like to eat in but thought we would one night. Snack service around pool was a bit lax. I would suggest to the hotel that maybe the waiters come round a little more often. My only issue with hotel is pool towels. We was in the hotel block facing lake2. It was a good 10min walk to go over to beauty parlour to them and then go back to other pool. Towels nearer would be ideal. This hotel is brilliant for english tourists, I have been to 2 other hotels in arpora and none compare. Take a fishing rodd fellas and ladies visit the parlour for a massage. So cheap and the ladies in there are very nice. The lakes are very pretty and if your lucky enough to not be obstructed by palm trees you will be able to enjoy views on the balcony. There isnt any hairdryers or irons in rooms but I think you can ask at reception for them
over all woud recommend this hotel and will be returning

Room Tip: rooms facing the lake

We had a 5 night stay which we enjoyed but certain standards need to be improved upon! Our room was nice with a gorgeouse view over the lake. Breakfast included but honestly quite forgettable! Served in a massive tent but constantly bothered by mossies!! Hard boiled eggs, scrambled or ommletes-thats your lot! Fruit juice was so watered down it was undrinkable. Safety deposit boxes were offered at reception at a cost of 500 rupees per week. Only problem was they were so small you could never get an SLR camera or Ipad in them!! Signs all over your room advising "do not leave valuables in your room". With the small safety deposit boxes, you had no option!!!!! These boxes need replaced!! 30 rupees for 45 minutes use of the wifi only on offer at reception. Signal was shocking and often it was completely unusable!! One of the lakes is teeming with fish and I saw some very large fish caught-amazing if you want some sport!!! It seems this hotel is trying to cut costs. Spoke to a few clients who have been going there for years but they say the hotel is not what it used to be! Get these niggles sorted and this will be a great place to stay-but will they spend the money???

Room Tip: forget the breakfasts!!!

We are in the marina at the moment and I can't understand where these people are coming from cold showers no English tv channels and hard beds we've been coming here for a few years and I've never had a cold shower unless I want one we've stayed in a lot of hotels around the world and you won't find one like the marina for friendly staff and helpful people and as far as being over 60 to be in the click these people must have sat together making it all up viva the marina Dourada

Ps
We are watching an english channel sat on the most comfortable bed at the moment can't ask for more.

This is our 3rd stay at this hotel, although we haven't been since 2010. Nothing much has changed really. The hotel remains a clean, tranquil spot after the hustle, bustle and madness that is Baga and Calangute! A joy to return to after a day or night out. The staff are so friendly, particularly Peter and Sachin at the Agor Bar, who make you feel so welcome and keep an exceptionally clean and well run bar at all times of the day and night. It's clear the hotel has many repeat guests and 'long stayers' as the same people were there who we saw in 2010! A friendly hotel where there's always someone to talk to about the day's adventures or the evening's events.
The breakfast remains basic with very little choice but it's OK and does a job! Other than a flat screen tv (which has no english channels at all), the rooms haven't changed at all and although spacious and airy (in the annex) - they really do need updating now. They are kept spotlessly clean by an army of cleaners but are looking tired and dull. Wi-fi is also only available in reception and is chargeable, yet is available free at most bars and restaurants outside. Most hotels now provide free wi-fi in rooms as standard. This, together with room and tv quality is the reason we have given the MD 4 instead of 5 out of 5. However, it won't stop us returning due to the peaceful setting and amazing views from your balcony!
