Had done South Bali and Ubud before.
Stayed here 3 days and 4 nights as we wanted to explore Eastern Bali as well just relax on our way to India for another 3 weeks.
Its a budget hotel (paid $42/night for their best/deluxe room), so not much by way of amenities. But the room was good size, nice and clean and had a "better than expected" bathroom for even hotels at $70-80 price range. Yes there is a tiny restaurant but really just for breakfast. They will cook you lunch if you'd like - We did our first day and it was DEFINITELY not a good idea. Even breakfast is fairly basic stuff - cooked to order eggs, toast, fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea/coffee. Yes, they do have cold beer!!!!!
But for the price and we did NOT plan spending much time at the hotel premises, it was just great to have a nice clean room, comfy bed, good bathroom with hot water, friendly staff and a great view of the sea from our porch in the morning and evening/night. They even made us early morning tea, well before breakfast, to enjoy the sunrise from our porch.
Did spend an afternoon in the pool (and even the sea) and having a few Bintangs with some Aussie guests from Perth. They come back here every three months for a week just to hang out at the hotel (cheap flights and cheap rooms).
Pool is nice and clean, but there is also a passageway to get down to the sea for swimming. Candidasa does not have much of a beach unless one goes out a bit.
Place is kind of in the middle of the local scene with lots of restaurants and warungs, a few shops for water, beer, souveniers, etc. and a super market too within walking distance. Srijati Warung was good for local dishes, a surprising place was a German Bakery (Candi Bakery), JOGLO (romantic, especially the outdoor garden - try the Gado Gado and/or Satay) and we saved the best for our last night - the VERY EXPENSIVE by Candi standards, but very nice, VINCENT'S. Save the money on hotel, spend it on food....
Have rated it average due to lack of amenities, especially a nice big breakfast. Could be a 4-star based on cleanliness and friendly staff!!
See my video of the place (sorry, the first part is Inna Sindhu Beach in Sanur) as well as our outings to Bali Aga, Tirta Gangga, Besakih, Lake batur, etc.
Room Tip: There is NO beach, but the place is waterfront. Suggest only the sea-view rooms as the others seemed dark (and perhaps dingy). I think there are 4 sea-view rooms in a new addition. Get one of those if you can. That's what we got. Not a place for a BIG breakfast. Avoid ALL other meals at the place. Lots of restaurants around, including some very good ones.
