“Delicious food, great hospitality in an old Bali setting”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

We stayed in Candidasa five nights and ate at Warung Boni for two of those nights purely and simply because we enjoyed the delicious food, great hospitality and old Bali setting. Warung Boni is a small, simple warung with no pretensions. You can sit at the front of the warung and enjoy the street life or sit in the garden at the back. We did both. The dishes were beautifully spiced, fresh, and ridiculously cheap. The chef, Connie, is a great cook and a delightful lady. Connie and her staff are friendly and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your meal. Her husband, Bon, will collect you for free from your hotel and return you when you are ready to leave. We loved this restaurant and will definitely go back again.

“A Must in Candi Dasa”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We stayed in Candi Dasa 3 nights and ate here 2 nights firstly myself and husband then we took another couple from our resort the next night. Bon came and picked us up and dropped us back.
Our meals were the best Balinese meals we have had. We tried the Nasi Campur, the sate and the Jambal. Bon, Connie and his extended family are the most welcoming people who take great pride in serving delicious food in a lovely garden setting.

“The best food we had in Bali”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

When we were dropped off in front of this restaurant one evening we almost thought we were in the wrong place. It's located off the main street and tucked away behind lots of vegetation. Our table was outdoors (and in fact was just patio furniture). The food however makes up for the less than spectacular ambiance. Only traditional Indonesian and Balinese food is offered, but wow is it good! We ordered 3 dishes and rice as sort of a Balinese tapas night (the prices are cheap). The chief even came around to all of the tables at the end to have a little chat. Though I wouldn't recommend this place for a romantic couple's night, the food has to be experienced at least once.

“Beautiful place, great food and amazing people!”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Boni is a lovely man who will come to your hotel and drive you to his beautiful little restaurant. His wife, Connie will cook delicious, traditional (and very inexpensive) food. You will be served by their neighbours children. Boni supports them and their families by giving them work so that they can learn English and afford to go to school. Boni is also driver and tour guide. He's so lovely with a beautiful heart. Do yourself a favour and go!

“A true Balinise Warung (small restaurant) located at Bon's home”
Reviewed 11 June 2014 via mobile

It's hard to compare this to the larger, main street restaurants like Vincent's. They serve Balinese and Indonesian food, nothing European or American. Bon uses local youth to help in his Warung so they can learn a skill and hopefully a little English too. Bon is a forward thinking man who supports and gives back to his community. He picks you up at your hotel with a big smile, feels you amazing food at a very affordable price (so tip generously, it's going to a great cause) and then drops you back off. Bon also will provide his services as a local guide or shuttle to the airport. Check this one out.
