“Excellent oasis”
Reviewed 24 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Lovely quiet location off the main strip but easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. 3 bedroom villa with bedrooms close together up steep stairs so not for elderly or infirm. One main bathroom downstairs which was v spacious and a toilet and sink upstairs, might struggle with one shower for 6 guests but fine for 4 of us. Big fridge and some complimentary water, beer and soft drinks on arrival were much appreciated. We arrived early and it was no problem to the lovely staff who had our room ready in ten minutes without complaint. V friendly staff who were v helpful with organising snorkelling tour and drivers. Big shared saltwater pool which was like a bath in temperature with some pool noodles. Highly recommend!

“A quiet & quaint villa ”
Reviewed 29 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

A small but spacious complex, in a quiet part of Candidasa, containing four lovely and newly built villas. The villa has a kitchen, living area, dining area, huge bathroom with open shower and enough rooms to sleep 6 people. Facilities are basic but clean. Complimentary water, soft drinks and bintangs (beers) in the fridge which was a nice bonus. The communal area is central with an eating area and bean bags. Enough sunbeds for everyone. The pool is gorgeous; salt water with water fountains surrounding it. Definitely a plus! The manager, Akur, is so welcoming and friendly. He ensures you have everything you need and is always around. We were impressed with the laundry facilities; less than £15 between 3 people to wash most of our clothes within 12 hours. He also invited us, along with the other villas, to a BBQ at the communal area for an evening meal which was lovely. So much food and even a huge suckling pig (Balinese). All you can eat for 250,000 IDR.

If you are looking for an intimate, relaxing time in a self contained villa then look no further! Note: If you are looking to go out for dinner then you MUST go to Vincent's restaurant. It is a 5 min walk from villa. They have a live jazz band, every Thursday, who are incredible. Great atmosphere, stunning setting and definitely worth every penny. Make sure you book in advance.

A lovely villa in a quiet and quaint complex. Gorgeous pool. Attentive staff. Good location. I would stay here again!

Many thanks for your kind words. Akur & our local Balinese staff delight in making our guests stay as happy & comfortable as possible, they will be thrilled by your comments.
A stay at Kura Kura Villas has to include at least one meal at Vincents, its a world class experience.
Many thanks

“Beautiful garden and perfect swimmingpool....but”
Reviewed 26 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The villas are much smaller then expected. Also you have to go through one bedroom to get to the other two bedrooms. Beds are little small especially for European people. Furniture is outdated. There is one real bathroom with shower, the other is just sink in the hall upstairs. There are two toilets and
with 6 persons you need them both. The bathroom is very spacious but old. There are, except for some pieces soap, no toiletries. The kitchen is simple but there is a fridge and microwave. The airco is very loud but you need it because there are cracs in the walls everywhere which allows bugs to come in. The staff, especially the ladies, are very friendly and willing to help. But communication in English is very basic. They give you towels for the pool. The swimmingpool is really wonderfull. Very deep inside,
almost two meters deep. The water in the container and the water, cola and beers in the fridge are
complimentary. They organize breakfast and dinner at the pool which are nice but not special. Especially dinner is quite expensive. Wifi is free but not very fast. Garden is really beautiful and quiet.

Thank you Jan for staying at Kura Kura Villas and for your feedback.
I make 2 comments on your points.
1. The top section of the villas are traditional Sumatra style homes. These typically have high ceilings for the heat to dissipate and decorative vents in the walls for fresh air to come in. These are the cracks you refer to. While there are very few bugs on the property we will be blocking these vents with a decorative panel which will stop any entry and keep the cool air in the villa.
2. I don't share your view of the main bathrooms in our 6 person villas. These are less than 2 years old and fitted out in a contemporary style similar to modern western bathrooms with fresh new tiles on the walls & floor and large shower recess.
Our aim is to provide guests a mix of the west and a flavour of Island culture, otherwise, why come to Bali?
Many thanks
Brian

“Awesome villa in Candidasa”
Reviewed 14 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed at Kura Kura Villas in May 2016 for a week, we wished it was longer. The grounds are spacious yet private and open, the pool is awesome (and slat water!) where I taught my young son to swim while we were there. It is off the main road yet not too far to go for a stroll either to the beach or into the main street. The staff were excellent - from booking with Brian the owner to dealing with the manager Eka and staff were great, nothing an issue. The villa is neat and tidy, the only issue is probably the steep stairs to go to the second floor (where we all slept) for any older guests which we had but they were not too bad. Would definitely go again, thanks!

“Villa in quiet location”

My first time staying in a Villa in Bali. 4 Adults and one child. Beautiful location and grounds and the salt water pool outside our door. The bottom of kids pool was very slippery and we all fell a few times. The Villa was well set out downstairs but the steps are far to steep and to lug cases up and down. Beds very comfy but no ceilings in the bedrooms so aircon struggled and not quite private. The staff were very happy and welcoming and we asked for a buffet dinner one night. They bought and cooked and shared our meal and even had a gong player. Apart from the bedroom being on the small side and the steep steps it was a lovely place to stay for 7 days. Their driver came to airport complete with cold beers as arranged before hand. Thank you to all staff and Eca

“Only praises”
Reviewed 15 April 2016 for a stay in August 2015

Good hospitality is something usual at Bali, but staffs and the owner of this nice place really made us feel at home. The villa was recently built, everything is new and the property is maintained with very good care. They use salt water at the swimming pool, so there is no excessive use of chemical products, the children swam during hours without that usual chlorine smell and no irritated eyes at the end of the day, they loved! The location is great, despite being very close to the principal street and best restaurants it's a quiet and silent place, you can take a nap during the day and sleep very well at night. At the time that we were there we had a chance to talk with Brian (the owner, very gentle and nice person) and met other lovely families. For those who fly paragliders there is a spot close to the villa. White Sand Beach, Water Palace and others sight seeing are close (by car) and the manager can help you with that. I was worried, like always I do, because I already made some bad choices in the past, but this one was much better than it was advertised. Only good memories, only praises. I'll be back! Arigatou Brian
