We decided to try out the Acacia Hotel Manila for my birthday staycation with my family. It's the first time we stayed in a hotel in the southern part of Manila. I was with my wife and 3 y/o kid in 1 room and my mom and my 2 sisters stayed in another room.
Great things:
1. The hotel room was clean and the bed was big and comfy.
2. The staff always greeted you in the lobby or in the hallways.
3. Covered parking was nice.
4. Breakfast was great. A lot of food choices.
5. A nice film showing for the kids at night under the clear sky with free popcorn
6. Fitness Center was awesome. There were a lot of equipment to work with.
7. Location was great. Near a lot of shops/stores.
8. Free Head and should massage was a surprise and a first.

Areas for improvement:
1. The pool area was not adequately covered/shaded. It was too hot even late in the afternoon. And overall it was small. Although staff were helpful and the pool was clean and I love the lighting effects at night.
2. We only get 1 access card per room. It's hassle to use the elevator without bringing your card which is also used to turn on the room electricity.
3. No Play area or activity area for kids aside from the swimming pool.

Overall. we enjoyed our stay and will look forward to stay here again.

Very Good location. If you prefer to eat outside, west gate is just across the street. Grocery, Mercury and banks is just beside the hotel. Mc Donalds is just a stone throw away. Friendly and accommodating staffs that made our stay more relaxing :) Our room is spacious and nice, complete with all the things we need and with an extra pillow too :) Our family had a great time and we will definitely come back :)

On May 03 we stayed at Acacia Hotel (officially called Acacia Hotel Manila even if it's located in Alabang, Muntinlupa City). I was with my dad, mom and 2 sisters. We were celebrating Mother’s Day a week earlier because not everyone in the family is available on Mother’s Day itself.

It’s actually my second time in this hotel. The first time was in 2012 when The Husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. We had a very beautiful and pleasant stay back in 2012.

Pros:
• Got a good deal from Deal Grocer at 3,999Php for a deluxe room with free breakfast buffet for 2 pax. We booked 2 rooms so that’s only 7,998Php (with free breakfast buffet for 4 pax).
• Booking in this hotel even if using a voucher is hassle-free. The reservations staff I talked with was friendly, helpful and polite and she immediately sent to me my booking confirmation via e-mail.
• Check-in was pretty fast and ok. They were not strict with the number of people staying in the rooms or guests coming in the hotel to visit checked-in guests.
• Deluxe Room is big, spacious and tastefully designed. Bed is huge (king-sized) and very comfy with fluffy pillows to match
• There's free Wi-Fi in the room.
• Basic toiletries were provided. There were enough towels provided as well.
• They provide bathrobes and bedroom slippers.
• They provide flat iron, ironing board and a hair dryer!
• The comfort room was also spacious and had a bath tub.
• They provide a safety deposit box that’s big enough to store tablets and iPads. It's very easy to use as well and they provided a print out with clear instructions on how to use it.
• They provide complimentary fruits the last time we were here but now they gave us complimentary dried mangoes, macaroons and of course the usual coffee, tea and bottled water! They also provide a coffee maker.
• They also provide a quick guide and map of Alabang including must-visit places, shopping destinations etc. and they also provide a list or menu available for room service.
• Lighting of the room is very nice and air conditioner can be easily controlled according to one's preference.
• Door knob has built in alarm system such that when you leave it open for a certain period of time it alarms. It’s also helpful when you thought you’ve already closed the door but in fact left it open ajar.
• They provide free in-room massage to newly checked in guests! We just declined because we wanted to swim and use the gym first and we were afraid that we might just fall asleep after a relaxing massage.
• Free access to their fitness center/gym. My youngest sister and I took advantage of this. They provide free drinking water and towels in the gym and staffs are nice and helpful (even if we were there until closing time they were still very accommodating and did not hurry us).
• Pool area is nice and they have this small outdoor Jacuzzi. Both have overlooking views of the not-so-busy streets nearby. The vicinity of Acacia Hotel is not yet congested so it's still nice and relaxing to look at the immediate surroundings. They also provide free iced teas and towels in the pool area. There’s a life guard checking in on the swimmers. They’re not strict as well with the number of towels you’re requesting and not strict with the number of people swimming per room.
• Samanea garden is quite nice albeit the faux grass
• Breakfast buffet has extensive selection and was very filling.
• I can go on and on...

Cons:
• When we were checking in, the front desk lady who arranged our check in gave us only 1 key card per room. It should be 2 key cards per room so that you can leave the other card in the key card slot to keep the electricity running even if you leave the room. I had to go back to the lobby and ask for the extra key cards.
• The incidental fee previously was only 1,000Php per room. Now it has gone up to 3,000Php per room. But of course it’s refundable and they’re not very strict and fussy during room check out.
• From the last time we were here, the furniture especially the chairs and carpet print were bright orange but it has already faded a bit over the last 2 years. They looked well-kept and clean though.
• Toilet still has no bidet installed. It’s not a must but it’s really nice and helpful (not to mention sanitary) to have one.
• They now have a dress code during breakfast buffet. People are requested to wear formal clothes for the breakfast buffet. Seriously? I don't think you should expect people to dress up at such an early time of the day. It’s ok though because they still let us in even if we were in casual wear (most if not all people were in shorts and dressed casually ready to hit the gym or the pool after).
• During check out, there had been some miscommunication with the extra person breakfast buffet charge. We already paid for it in the restaurant but it was still included in our room charge. I just couldn’t understand why it took so long for them to verify that payment has already been made unless their system was not centralized. The front desk lady had to call the restaurant but it still took some time for them to verify our concern. We had kept the receipt though but I was too tired (or lazy!) to pick up the official receipt in my sister’s purse because the purse is already in the car in the basement parking.

Over-all Acacia Hotel is one great hotel on this side of the metro. The pros clearly outweighs the cons. It’s also good that my family who stayed here for the first time loved their amenities and their over-all service. We are definitely coming back!

Greetings from Acacia Hotel Manila!

Thank you very much for this very detailed review. We appreciate the time in effort you put in to this. We have studied each points and will definitely put in to consideration everything. Our dress code for the coffeeshop is smart casual as stated in the sign. This is purely to maintain the dining experience of each guest. We hope for your kind understanding on this matter.

We would like to express our gratitude for continuously choosing Acacia Hotel Manila. We still have more improvements that are in the works. We look forward to serving you once more and serving you in the best possible way.

Booked a room for a couple of days. On the night of 26 April (23:00) so we could have an early check in (8:00) on 27 April. We were aware that their check-in time is at 14:00 so even if we lose the first night we could still check in early. This was explained to us by a friend who was at the hotel days before us, who spoke personally to the concierge and booked another room for us under his name earlier the day of 26April. Arriving early at the hotel the next day. First thing we do is cancel the booking of my friend for us. The receptionist then confirmed our booking for both days, but told us that we can't check-in because we didn't appear yesterday to check-in at 14:00 and therefore cancelled our reservation. We then explained that we can't possibly come yesterday and check in at 14:00 if we booked the room at 23:00! That's the reason why we even booked the room also on 26 April even if we were not going to stay there that day to be able to check in early! She then told us that there is no room ready until 14:00. We then asked about the booking reservation our friend did that is also staying at the hotel. That should be free and not occupied since we just cancelled it now. And in fact it was! We lost 45 mins doing the transactions. And she was not very helpful. She even needed to ask help from her colleagues, because she was losing a lot of time clicking in her computer not having a clear idea of what to do! She then explained again that we need to pay for both days since we're checking in early. Duh!? We already knew that, it's the first thing we told you! She asked if we like a non-smoking room, if it's ok that it has two single beds and not a matrimonial bed etc. We were so tired from our travel that we just wanted to rest. Just give us the room already. And when she finally did. A sigh of relief when we enter the room. The room has the view overlooking the city and the bay. The desk and furniture were a little dusty. But the bed was very comfortable. Big bathroom complete with toiletries. Television has cable. Internet was slow as it is in the whole country. Room service was good. Location is also good not so much traffic. They have their own parking garage so we did not have to leave our car under the sun. For it was too hot. It's a beautiful hotel i just hope the people they put at the front desk lobby should be more knowledgable of what they are hired to do. Smile and learn to listen to your clients, and know how to provide solutions.
