Nichols Airport Hotel
Ranked #12 of 18 Hotels in Paranaque
Reviewed 22 May 2013

The hotel is near the airport and that is the only positive. It took over 30 minutes to get from Terminal one and about 30 minutes from Terminal three. The rate was much too high for the quality. This is at best a one star hotel. There is no internet or wifi in the rooms. No water to drink and I had to go to the lobby to buy water and I found the bottles were not sealed so i suspected they were refilled. I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay at a different hotel

We had one-night stop in Nichols and payed over 2500PHP for it. Not worth of that kind amount of money. Rooms does not match the pictures and overall those are pretty awful. No windows, grey paint in the walls, mixed with filthy mat. To add, there are nothing near the hotel area where you can go. Overall it think it was slighlty depressing place.
Hotel restaurant was alright and staff were friendly in restaurant and reception.

Location is great, near to airport and we got free car ride to airport from the hotel, since we did not have time to eat breakfast. Hotel is ok for one night quick pit-stop, but try to reserve it beforehand and find a little cheaper price..

I have stopped over at several hotels near to MNL airport, and would not rate this as the best nor is it the worse. Only 80 PHP in taxi and 5 min from airport, pretty easy to find. Front desk staff let me use their own phone to make a call which was very helpful. Room was as advertised on Agoda, the bed was comfortable and the room clean. Hot water in the shower and cold A.C made for a good nights rest. Unlike other airport hotels I have used at least in this location there was a bit of night life and places to eat in the area.

Made a very bad choice in selecting this hotel for the last night of my stay in Manila with my fiance. The room was very basic, dirty and not very clean at all with a stale, foisty smell upon entering. The place was depressing to say the least. Not very well maintained at all. Got ripped-off paying nearly 2500P for one night and ripped-off again paying 300P for a shuttle ride when you can get a taxi for half the price. Best to be avoided.

If you are looking for an overnight stay close to the airport then this hotel is suitable. Rooms are clean, large, good quality bed sheets and towels. The hotel has a coffee shop, free Wi-Fi, roof top bar (closed Sunday’s) and even a SPA. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

The only downside is that this hotel is located in a dodge (rundown) area, so do not go walking around at night for a stroll. When you take a taxi, make sure you tell the guard to tell the taxi driver to use a meter as the drivers we try it on within this area.

I booked my overnight stay at this hotel through Hotels.com. I chose the premier room but found that the furniture in my room was completely different from the picture shown in Hotels.com. The furniture in my room was more similar to that of the standard room. I was satisfied with the bigger bathroom, more comfortable bed and more amenities in the hotel (eg restaurant, spa) than the one I had previously stayed (Isabelle Garden Suites). The spa provides basic 1 hour massage, oil or shiatsu. This hotel charges only 300 Php for transfer to the airport. There was no kettle or clothes hangers in the room but for an overnight stay, it was adequate. I would recommend future travellers to book the standard room with breakfast option (cheaper to pre-pay for your breakfast). Also just take a taxi from the airport to reach the hotel. Choose the white fixed rate taxi and indicate that the suburb is Paranaque. The pick-up service can be unreliable.

The hotel itself is basic and clean on the inside. The outside is not great and the neighborhood is in a dilapidated area with slums near. This did make for an interesting morning exploring. The people in the area are nice, but the hotel staff itself is not overly kind. To get here, just take a taxi. I tried to arrange the airport shuttle they provide, but could not find it, as 1) they are not allowed to pick you up from the immediate arrivals area so you are left wandering to the general arrivals filled with massive amounts of people 2) They said meet at a specific place, but I think I beat the guy there. After walking through the area twice, I just took a taxi. When I arrived at the hotel I was told the shuttle was still at the airport. Not a great experience at 1am.
The place was ok for one night, but anything more would be severely disappointing.
