Cornelia Diamond Golf Resort & Spa
Ranked #28 of 93 Hotels in Belek
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 14 June 2011

Stayed at the Cornelia for a weeks golf in early June 2011 with 11 of my mates aged from 35-60.... This was our 3rd consecutive year in the area having previously stayed for two years at the Sueno. Firstly the positives; excellent rooms & nice spa Buffet restauarnt food pretty good. The negatives (as per a previous review); outside of very restrictive restaurant opening hours, food cannot be ordered from anywhere other than room service. Other than the main bar, all others close at midnight . Drinks are not served 15 minutes before that so as to allow the staff to leave promptly at 12. The disco is only open from 11pm to 2am. And the big one; it's absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to make a booking in any of the theme restaurants, yet seem no full whatsover when to walk by!!! Every night there's a queue of complainants at the customer relations desk.

Room Tip: The rooms with the plunge pools looked really nice

We just returned from our second visit to the cornelia diamond golf resort and had a fantastic stay, it was even better second time around.
We had no trouble with the restaurant booking system, maybe because we were a part of two. If you call two minutes before 7 pm, we always got a table.
The staff where very efficient and friendly and could not do enough for you.
We used the Spa on a couple of occasions and found it very relaxing and very clean. You have try the Baileys cocktail PS I Love you at the Piano bar as a nightcap.
We had a problem with room selection on check in but it was quickly rectified by the Thomas Cook Rep Abi.
Have already booked up for the same two weeks in May 2012.

Stayed in this hotel in May and loved it so much so that we have already booked for next May.
On our arrival at the hotel we were not dissapointed on our first impression. We were in a standard room which was spacious and beautifully decorated, the bathroom was split into 3 areas, the wet room had a lovely deep bath aswell as power shower and hand held shower, all the toilletries you could need. The best part was our sea view.
THe hotel was spotless, not an area left untouched. If maintenance was required it was attended to promptly. We witnessed this at the children's pool, no sooner had a hand rail broken,a phone call and it was mended.
The food was excellent, although we didn't book any of the a la carts due to having a fussy 3yr old we were not dissapointd by the choice at the main buffet restaurant. We did hear there were problems trying to book the a la carts but having stayed in other hotels in this region with the same set up, it appears to be an issue also?
The staff were all friendly and helpfull,we found the entertainment team in particular the children's team excellent, our daughter had such a fun packed 2wks from the mini train, carousel, bumper cars, face painting, pool slides and games, jeep safari the list goes on. The team were excellent with all the children. This made our holiday knowing our daughter had plenty of activities, her highlight was the mini disco in evenings. The entertainment was in the amphitheatre at night suitable for familes then afterwards a live band or disco by the pool till midnight. The hotel had a nice friendly atmosphere which allowed you to chat with fellow guests.
I appreciate all inclusive holidays are not for everyone but these hotels are a high standard of all inclusive,Although not much around Belek if you like to go out and about we never felt confined to the hotel and did on couple of days walk into Belek town, and of course you have the option of booking trips.
A great hotel to consider for a nice break.

We booked this as a surprise for my husbands 50th birthday ( 2 couples) and we were not disappointed on arrival we were upgraded to a family garden room with complimentary bubbly. The staff were very attentive the hotel was spotless food fantastic. I had heard before we went that trying to book a la carte resturaunts was difficult the first night proved that it was but as it was a special occasion I spoke to guest relations and they arranged this for us - the Pub on the forest - fantastic came out with a cake for Andy and champagne for us all. but we manage to get 2 more resturaunts and we were only there for 1 week all very good. The entertainment team were very good tried to involve everyone but if you didn't want to take part would leave you alone. The boys enjoyed the golf and we would definately go back. SUPERB!!!!!!!! - well done Cornelia - weather was good so didn't try the spa but word was it was good.

This Hotel is NOT suitable for families or couples. Our recent one week holiday was spoilt by the appaling behaviour and foul mouthed language of the groups of golfing men, who seemed to be in total control of things. We could not eat anywhere without the constant "F" swearing word being heard in every conversation. This was even in the A 'La Carte Restaurants, for which the various golfing groups obviously had priority block booking arrangements, with the hotel.

Do not expect the A' La Carte telephone booking system to work, as quite clearly there is little or no availability other than the block bookings for the golfers. This is even if you call at the first opportunity at 7 p.m. for the following evening. At 7.01 p.m. all availability has gone. We shared our frustration with other guests who had experienced similar problems all week.

The Thomas Cook representative was totally useless, and obviously lacked experience. When we explained that we were unhappy and wanted to move all “Abi” could only quote us “The Terms and Conditions” of our holiday. This is not what we expected from Thomas Cook. The only solution offered was for us to pay £526 as a cancellation charge, as a condition of being moved to an alternative hotel. As we had already paid £1930 for our one week holiday, we refused to pay anymore. All we were asking for was the availability of the A’ La Carte restaurants that we had agreed with the Thomas Cook travel agent in Canterbury, prior to our booking.

Guest relations were in meltdown, due to the number of complaints from residents unable to eat in the A’ La Carte Restaurants. There were numerous complaints being made and the situation became very tense and was not far short of a full riot!

The attitude of the Guest Relations staff was disgusting. They offered no help or solution to our problems. Even a visit to the main reception desk was a total waste of time. I met the “Shift Leader” Eren Simset, who was unable to help, despite his best efforts.

Finally at the last resort and after many hours of complaints, hassle and distress, and as we were on the verge of moving hotels (at our expense) we were able to make the requested A’ La Carte bookings. These were by way of a “Special Book” kept at Guest Relations (presumably normally reserved for golfers only)

This is a hotel to AVOID, unless you want to enjoy swearing and foul and abusive language and behaviour more akin to a drunken stag night. In addition expect to be woken at 3 a.m. every morning when the boozy revellers finally finish drinking, by their shouting and screaming as they go back to their rooms.

Having visited Turkey four times over the last two years, this was our worst experience, especially as this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel.

We await news of our complaint which has been lodged with Thomas Cook.

This is an enormous glitzy hotel where you can never find a duty manager! There were 8 golfers in our party, originally booked in 4 rooms, 2 sharing. We were 'upgraded' to two villas, but this gave 2 people ensuite double rooms and the others had to share 2 open plan bathrooms!

Generally the hotel would rate average, certainly not 5 star by any stretch of the imagination. The restaurant system is shambolic and unfair. The place boasts 7 restaurants but you have to really stick your neck out to get a booking. We managed to book only one restaurant (on our last night) after throwing a tantrum at the Customer Relations Desk. The rest of the time we ate breakfast and dinner in what I would describe as a motorway cafe. Certainly not 5 star food!
Very disappointing overall.

The last review from a lady from Birmingham has said it all. We went as a family of four adults and could not fault one thing. We where upgraded to a lake room which gave direct access to the pool. WHOW.... it was the icing on the cake for us. There is not much to do outside of the resort apart from the shops at Belek but we went for a relaxing holiday so was not worried about
I would highly recommend this resort. It deserves the 5 stars. Thank you Cornelia Diamond for giving us a great holiday and some wonderful memories.
