We stayed at the Cornelia Deluxe in March as a part of a golf package booked with Golf Breaks. Golf Breaks are a very good company to work with and we were impressed with the professional and helpful service we received. The Cornelia Deluxe also a ran a very smooth golf service regarding the transfers and checking in for tee times at the Nick Faldo course. We enjoyed our golf games and found the greens in good condition. We did find that the pace of play slowed down a great deal in the afternoon so would recommend the earlier tee times if you can manage an early start when on holiday.
The Cornelia Deluxe is a nice hotel but my standards and expectataions are very high and in some areas they fell down. Our room was good as we were in a corner room so benefitted from more windows plus making the room slightly bigger. I would not call the rooms luxurious and would rate them at a 3 -4 star level. The bathroom area was very large and all of the toiletries, bathrobes and slippers were of good quality. The colour choices are a bit "retro" but that is probably better than a dark and gloomy room.
The staff were lovely and we found everybody friendly and helpful. Especially helpful were the girls in the Customer Relations department. They went out of their way to sort out our travel needs and restaurant reservations and were always ready with a smile.
The pool area was nice, as well as the indoor pool for the time when the weather changed and was colder than expected. Work was taking place on the beach area to prepare it for when the season started. It was obvious to see that a lot of hard work takes place in keeping the grounds and facilities in good order.
My only complaint would be the food. Most of our meals were taken in the buffet restaurant which did feel more like a cafeteria to me. I am not a fan of buffets and will endure them for a couple of meals but found this buffet lacked immagination and most of the evenings selections did not vary. As we were out of season only a couple of the a la carte restaurants were open. We had one meal in the Italian restaurant which was very nice but dinner in the French restaurant
was disappointing as our meals seemed to lack much taste. Also only a few tables were occupied so it lacked ambiance. It was noted to us that people did not frequent the a la carte restaurants as much since they had to pay the 10 Euro supplement. This is a shame but does make it easier to get a reservation.
Another mention should be that the hotel does have a busy conference trade. There were a couple of large groups during our stay with one in particular that really changed the feel of the place over the few days that they were there. They appeared to not be used to staying in large good quality hotels and many people commented on the strange mix between them and the golfers and holiday makers that were there. It may well be worth checking if there are conferences going on during your stay if you think this could be an issue.
It was a nice hotel and suited our desire for a last minute, very reasonably priced golf break to Turkey. However we try to spoil ourselves during our holidays so are planning on staying at their 5 star property, the Cornelia Diamond for our next trip to Belek.
