My husband and I stayed at the Cornelia Deluxe for our honeymoon. On arrival, we were met by one of the Guest Relations team and informed we were receiving a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite, they also booked us in to the a la carte restaurants at this time, in addition, we received champagne, flowers and a fruit basket in our room.
ROOM - our upgraded room was beautiful, very spacious, the lake pool outside was idyllic, the housekeeping staff kept the rooms spotless, the mini bar and toiletries were refilled each day (apart from spirits in the mini bar). If you have mobility problems I would suggest not staying in the junior suites or garden rooms as they are set outside of the main hotel building, they are only a minutes walk but we loved the peacefulness there.
POOLS/BEACH - everywhere in the hotel is very clean, you are given fresh beach towels each morning, the pool area is gorgeous. We always prefer to spend the day on the beach and again, this is very clean, they even had a man whose job appeared to be to keep the sand surface smooth!
FOOD - outstanding! There is a huge choice in the buffet restaurant, both me and my husband commented that you would have to be the world's fussiest eater not to find something that suits you. Each night there was a different meat in the carvery, and they had themed nights so you never felt that you were eating the same thing again and again. The a la cartes were really good too, the food was of an even higher standard. We especially loved the Hedera which is the Mediterranean restaurant. When you go to the a la cartes, they give you wine menus and display prices for wine but if you ask for house wine they will give you it at no extra charge, the house white and red are really good, very easy drinking.
We were fortunate to experience 2 gala nights while we were there, they were certainly a sight to behold, the staff manage to make the hotel pool area look amazing and the chefs cook up the most fantastic food, our only issue was that we needed bigger plates to fit everything on!! We loved the food, so much so, we each gained 7lbs!
DRINK - the all inclusive service really is 24 hours a day. Some of the alcohol is international brands, sometimes you have to ask for these though. The only drinks I found that they didn't include was tia maria and baileys but they did substitutes which tasted almost the same.
ENTERTAINMENT - the entertainment was great, especially the visiting acts but the hotel team did put on a good show too. The gala nights were exceptionally good and we never felt bored in the evening thanks to the nightly show and then live music at the pool bar.
STAFF - All of the staff were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for you, some of them seemed to literally run around after the guests. They were friendly and helpful.
TRIPS - there are a number of trips available, we only did one and in a way it put us off doing any more. We visited Antalya which is a beautiful city and well worth a look but Thomas Cook took us via a jewellery store with very expensive jewellery (I asked the price of a bracelet and was informed 4500 Euro!!), then to a bazaar that clearly only gets custom from people on similar trips and the pedlars completely hound you, then on the way back, they took us to a leather factory which again was ridiculously priced!! Next, year, we'll get a bus there!
We will definately return to this hotel in the future. In all, we had a fabulous time, 2 weeks of sheer indulgent relaxation, just what we wanted, thankyou.
