“Fantastic Holiday First Class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

We have recently returned from one week's holiday at the Rui Kaya Palazzo and what a fabulous hotel. Absolutely beautiful surroundings from the lobby area, comfy lounges, modern and contemporary areas, brand new furniture, marble floors and walls. State of the art lifts quick and roomy and always available. Beautiful spacious bedrooms with large bathroom and walkin shower. Plenty of hot water, hair dryer. Ample balcony with lovely view of the sea and pool areas. We loved the jetty/pier area where we hired a pavilion lounge for three days for exclusive privacy and butler service which was first class. Thank you to Natali and her colleagues for looking after us showing excellent hospitality at all times. For 150E well worth the money as you are made to feel very special. Cold towel service, fresh fruit platters in abundance, hot and cold drinks, cocktails, ice creams and lunch served. Weather was mainly hot and sunny but got very breezy at times. Italian a la carte was a little disappointing food wise but waiters very attentive. Restaurant food was okay, plenty of choice but not always to our taste. Well presented. Night entertainment was actually good with ice show, Turkish dance troupe who were excellent and the bands were really good too. Overall a wonderful hotel. Such lovely people, special mention made to Suzen in guest relations, so very helpful. Also rep Laken. We did one excursion to waterfalls, market and river boat trip and beach. Really nice day but lunch on the boat was much to be desired :-( would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Superior room with sea view excellent with free use of safe and a plentiful stocked free mini bar in...

To celebrate my birthday we have decided to book Kaya Palazzo for 4 Nights. Before I forget I want to start my rewiew with people. Especially I would like to mention Gokhan from the Guest Relation Department, Serhat who served drinks at the Beach and Lale who kept our room clean. We were impressed by our room's decoration and the size. A minor thing is that there is no separating wall in the balcoon between two rooms, what can disturb your privacy. We stayed at Maxx Royal Belek and Cornelia Diamond before, for sure Kaya Palazzo is at the same level with the mentioned hotels. The patisserie in French Style was favourite place of my wife, she enjoyed there Moevenpick ice cream very much. The food in Buffet restaurant was delicious and various however we were disappointed with the a la carte breakfast at Tulipano Restaurant the service was very slow. At the end I have to mention the unpleasant smell at some part of the beach, I could not find out the reason for it.

2 week stay as a birthday present to my boyfriend. The hotel itself 5 star, but all the other parts i rate 3-4 star. Starting with the good points. Upon arrival we were taken back by the beauty of the hotel, clean cut, grand designs and gorgeous decor. We paid extra for a superior suite and it was worth the money , we didnt see what the other rooms looked liked except when we caught a glimpse as a maid went in and they looked lovely too. Choice of pillow comforts free mini bar and beautiful view from top floor. The maid sevice is amazing, very friendly and welcoming. at least twice a day they come in and do a wonderfull job with the room and each day is different. They were carefull with our personal belongings and we were very happy with the cleaning crew. I would like to mention Nilay from the bar, Mustafa from the restaurant and Oguz from the pool bar for there brilliant service during our stay and for making up for the not so good stuff. We became friendly with a bar tender called Umut who was amazing very attentive, very welcoming and friendly, excellent service really couldnt have asked for more from him,he was at a very top standard. The views and surroundings are spectacular. However apart from this the level of english spoken is very amature, lowest level of basic english, was even hard to explain what Red Bull was :/. majority of the bar tenders mainly pool bar, some in restaurant where not helpfull or bothered in doing there job, there was a feel of hostility. Most would stand there on their phones or look at you and pretend not to notice you where there waiting. We had no room service menu as we planned to have breakfast on our balcony, i asked for one and got a tiny piece of card with things like pringles or sanitary towels ! Even though there was a full set food menu ! The food is adequate and for a restaurant that big there should be more food choices and more turkish food. The a la carte restaurants were not at all 5* i could have ordered from a chinese takeaway and got the same for a lot cheaper! they couldnt explain the food or understand when we said we had already paid. we had to make a reservation for a booking we was going to at the same time. The water activties were rarely on scheduele and a certain rep loooked like she was giving out other services.... huhum... Which i found distasteful especially with the high standard of the hotel itself. We like the hotel but maybe in different circumstances we enjoyed our stay but could have done the same for a lot cheaper and had more enjoyment from another hotel. we would not return back. Also a quick mention to our thomson rep Laken for everything :) Thankyou to all the maids and the people i have mentioned who made our stay worth its while and money.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

We ( partner & I ) were here from 5th of June till 10th of June (5 days). As my partner arrived early in the morning and I arrived late in the evening, he was able to check in before check-in time. That was a good service, however he got a room with two single beds while we preferred a double bed. A bit later in the afternoon, a lovely lady at the reception could arrange a room with double bed. We liked our stay overall, but there were some things that really could break your day and your mood.

The room we were staying in was beautiful, with large and comfy bed, a sofa and salon table and a desk with a balcony. The view was breathtaking. Even though our room was facing the gardens on the right side, we still had a view on the sea and the mountains (and the Kempkinsky hotel next to it). In the evenings you could enjoy a drink from the mini-bar which was equipped with soda, beer, wine, snacks as haribo, lindt choclates, pringles chips and oreo cookies. The bathroom was wonderful with the rain shower.

The hotel overall was beautiful and clean. The lobby is huge with many employees (bellboys, guest relationship, reception employees and waiters) running around. That made it look messy and didn't invite the customer to stay in that area. The snacks and drinks in the lobby were a big plus with delicious sweets and fresh juices.

The food was overall not so good in comparison to what I've experienced in other 5 star hotels in Antalya.
Breakfast:
The breakfast was the best buffet of the day. There was fresh fruit, salad, all kind of delicious bread, pancakes, 6 different egg dishes, meat, bacon and fresh jams and so on.
Lunch:
We only had lunch at the a-la carte pool restaurant and I recommend that! The pizza, fish & chips and grilled salmon were really good. Not so good were the shrimps wrap and the adana kebab (too much fat in the meat). The view was wonderful and during the warm days it was nice to sit there with a cool breeze.
Dinner:
There was not enough choice for dinner in my opinion. There were mostly meat dishes (8 different dishes at the same time) and fish but little to no vegetable dishes. In Turkish cuisine there are a lot of eggplant dishes, but nowhere to be seen there. That was huge disappointment, since one cannot eat only 8 kinds of meat. There were some pasta dishes, but that was dry pasta with some sauces to add it yourself. One evening there was sushi at the menu, but when we arrived (30minutes later) there was no sushi anymore. That is not acceptable for a 5 star all inclusive hotel. That was another huge disappointment. The salads were only dry ingredients cut and put in a bowl so you could assemble a salad yourself. I preferred some already mixed delicious salads, but unfortunately!

Drinks were really good, a great variety of international brands and a lot of cocktails with fresh fruit (with or without alcohol). That was a HUGE plus for this hotel.

We only tried the Libanese a-la-carte restaurant and I must say that it was well spent money. (15Epp) The food was delicious with all the mezzes being brought to your table. And with all the mezzes, I mean all the mezzes on the menu card, so there was a lot of choice.

The patisserie was definitely the best place for me. Twice a day we would pay a visit and enjoy the most delicious cakes and sweets with a good cup of coffee. Our favourites were the pistachio cake and the cheesecake. The movenpick ice cream was also delicious, especially the espresso flavour. They tried to make it look like a French patisserie with painting of Paris and French lampposts. I don't know if they succeed in bringing in the French atmosphere, but that is all not important when you see the beach when you sit on the lounge couch.

Pools and beach:
There was one big pool which was rather dull. Except for good music and 1 hour aquarobics there was nothing else to do in the water. So we didn't spend much time in the pool. The service was ok, it took about 20 minutes to get your drinks, but in the mean time a waiter with a car full of drinks would pass by and offer you some standard drinks. Upon arrival you get a towel card for getting towels outside. What they didn't mention was, that when you don't return the towels back you will get a FINE of 20 EURO's! That is what happened with us. We forget out towels at the beach house and when we went to the reception to explain our case, we only got a response that we got a fine of 40 Euro until we didn't bring back the towel cards. And as an answer that we didn't knew about that, they told us it was written on the card! That was the worst kind of service we experienced at the hotel. Fortunately, I was so clever to go back to the beach house the next day and get 2 towels to exchange for the towel cards.
We stayed in the beach house for one day for 100 euro. We got a bottle of champagne, a lot of fresh and delicious fruits and a butler service, which we didn't make much use of is. It is worth the price if you are with 4 or more. The beach houses were lovely and comfy. You could lay outside on the sun beds or inside, we sat there when we had enough of the sun and needed to cool off.

Service
Overall was the service not excellent, but ok. A lot of employees were too commercial, like the ones in the spa. As soon as you got in the spa area, they would ask if we would want to get a massage or they would start recommending one. That was annoying. Furthermore, almost all of them would ask immediately where we were from. I can understand they want to interact with the customers, but it is annoying for the customer to answer all the employees the same question. During breakfast and dinner it would take 10 minutes for us to get our drinks. I think that is a bit too long. The best service we got was in the Libanese restaurant by one particular waiter and the Cigar bar one night.
Cleaning service was not good at all. I don't think our sheets were replaced with new ones during our stay. They did not clean the bathroom properly as I could see a hair in the bathtub after cleaning. It was probably ours, but I still think it should be cleaned. The bathroom utilities where not filled.

Entertainment Team.
As we didn't watch many shows I cannot comment on the entertainment team. One night however the entertainment was really good. There was a hiphop dance crew who really wowed the audience. After that there was a live band singing really good and the entertainment team made sure everyone would shake a leg.

Car Rental:
We decided to rent a car, as it is less expensive as taking a cab to the city centre of Antalya. The worst experience we had at the hotel. I recommend the hotel to get rid of this company and hire a better and more professional company such as Europcar. First of all, the prices of the rent is too high if you compare with other companies. 80 euro for 24 hours and when we said we wanted a navigation, he added another 10 euro. When we got the car, we realised that there already was a navigation build in the car, so the extra 10 euro was added for nothing! That really felt like fraud and cheating. But that is not all, when we got the car, there was no fuel in the car, not even a bit! That was a first for us. We have hired cars all over the world and even in Antalya before, but never did we got a car with a empty tank. When we asked why, they said that customers never give the car back with a full tank. We didn't believe it for a second. The real reason is that no one can tank as much as it is going to use with as results giving the tank back half full. We felt cheated for the second time. And above that, the whole car service was not professional at all from the way they talked and they way the asked us to pay before we got in the car. I would recommend you to rent a car online from another company as they are bringing and picking up the car from the hotel or from the airport for 20/30 euro a day.

Overall, this stay was good, it has his highs but also some lows which can really ruin your day and your mood. I would recommend you to stay here if you can find a good deal, otherwise it's too much money for what you get.

Just returned from this hotel (23May-6Jun) after an amazing 2 weeks holiday! In my opinion it should be an Ultra All Inclusive and the best hotel i've ever stayed in in Turkey and we've been to several.

Rooms were clean, comfortable, tidy and highly recommend room 809 swim up room!!

Ministones Mini Club- out of this world the staff work so hard to entertain the children of all ages, they do not stop from 10am-midnight! Well done guys and a special mention to Ksenia, Helen, Alla, Olga & Veronika, my 6 year old daughter go very attached to all the staff.
There is a very busy and very varied timetable for the children with different daily activities!

Entertainment Team- They work very well together and made our holiday all the more fun!!They too work very long hours however their energy levels do not reflect this, they were friendly, lively and always with a smile on their faces!! A special mention to Sandra ( my aqua aerobics and Zumba instructor) lovely personable young lady from Germany. Willing to try new things, a guest suggested Aqua Zumba so the following day this was implemented with an excellent outcome. Special mention to Eric, Can, Yulia and Julia.

The Pool was a little chilly on our 1st week however it certainly didn't stop the guest taking a dip, you can always dry off on your sun lounger and not even have to get up to get a drink, waiters/ess on roller blades (which is very novel) would serve you!! or staff with drinks trollies too, look out for Funny man Serhat he's great for a laugh!!!

The Cigar Bar offers wonderful views out to see with comfortable seating and a lovely waitress Fatma to serve you!! The vast choice of branded drinks is amazing! Bombay Sapphire, The Botanist, Gordans, Hendrix, Beefeater Gin's are unlimited!!! Bottled beers- Heineken, Becks, Miller. Jagermister, Baileys, the choice is yours!!

Guest relations were always very obliging and spoke extremely good English.!!

Try the Italian for breakfast its not heavily advertised but well worth a visit and free of charge.

Visit the Lobby bar and see Habib or Rico they make a fine Hendrix Cucumber cocktail!

All in all our 2 weeks were very memorable for many reasons from start to finish and I would strongly recommend you visit! I would certainly go back!

Room Tip: Room 809 Swim up room be cheeky and ask for an upgrade to 6600 ( Family bungalow with swim up room...

The Riu Kaya Palazzo is a really beautiful hotel where staff go that extra mile to make your holiday special .
The exquisitely designed interior exudes sophisticated charm. The sumptuous surroundings offer an oasis of calm. Although less than a year old, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a hint of gentle perfume in the air. From the huge entrance lobby and reception areas through to the restaurants and rest rooms the cleanliness can not be faulted.
The toilet areas are spotless with trays of fluffy white flannels to refresh you on a hot day.

We had a roof top suite complete with wonderful views of the sea and coast line. It had a huge balcony, two bathrooms, two showers and a whirlpool bath, back to back TV's in the lounge and bedroom, a mini bar with beer, wine soft drinks and water, snacks including Pringles, chocolates, Oreo biscuits and little Haribo sweets, Tea and coffee facilities and of course dressing gowns and slippers. A bottle of red wine, two glasses and a basket of fruit was placed on the coffee table and the bed was decorated with flowers. We could not hear a thing from the rooms either side of us for the whole time we were there. Towels were changed daily and sheets every two days, It was my birthday during our stay and I was surprised with a cake and candles, a bottle of champagne and a spa gift.
The air conditioning works well.

The main restaurant offers a huge variety of fresh foods suitable for every taste, all perfectly cooked and presented. The lunchtime handmade pizzas and the cherry cheesecake is to die for. I an a very fussy eater but can honestly say I ate well, did not found the food repetitive and have come home heavier than I arrived. My advice would be to try everything. The wine is good and I loved the Rose..The waiters were attentive, helpful, hardworking and it was easy to communicate our needs. We are happy people and always find a smile helps when language is a barrier.
Our favourite waiters were Musu, Omer and Hassan, who were lovely.

We tried two of the a la carte restaurants. the Lebanese and the Italian. Both very nice. We dined outside while listening to live music nearby. The steak in the Italian was tender and beautifully cooked.

The lobby bar and Cigar Bar were usually where we spent our evenings. The cool spacious terrace and comfortable bar area are perfect for relaxing after a long day of sunbathing. Fatma is the waitress here. She is a little darling, a real treasure of a waitress. The bar staff will make you any cocktail you desire and any drink you ask for is here. Premium brands. My husband loved the Hennessy brandy served with lemon, ground Turkish coffee and brown sugar.
There is a lot of unused space in this area which would be ideal to use for a piano bar. A pianist and a saxophonist would add the finishing touch to this hotel.

Just along from here is The Patisserie. My favourite place. Arranged delicately in glass cabinets and shelves are the most delicious pastries, savouries, cakes and chocolates. Try one of the tiny macaroons and you will want more, I guarantee it. Sit on one of the elegant couches, admire the cosmopolitan décor and enjoy views across the pool area to the sea, while sipping a Turkish tea or coffee. Pure bliss.

The pools are well looked after and very clean with trees and flowerbeds. There are plenty of sunbeds so no need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve one. Though some still do. The pool bar will supply you with an endless supply of drinks. Delivered to you.by a waiter on roller-skates.

We spent a lot of time sunbathing on the pier. It has its own bar and sunbeds and is the perfect place to catch a cooling breeze.. Relax on a sunbed while Natali or Timu' bring you a drink, nuts, fruit, ice creams etc.

The Customer Relations team are constantly walking around the resort asking for your opinions. If you have a problem they will sort it out for you really quickly. Look out for Sezen, she is an asset to the hotel and will go far.

There is little to do outside of the hotel other than strolling around the golf course, which is really beautiful, exploring the gardens or walking along the beach. However, we found our days full and just enjoyed the facilities of the hotel, our wonderful suite and the sunshine.

We feel privileged to have found this gem of a hotel, and are pleased to recommend it here on Trip Advisor.

Room Tip: Top floor suite 5114 has sun all morning.

Just got back from a 10 day break with 2 friends and a 3 year old girl. 2 of us were golfing and we were in an ideal position to play some amazing courses. The hotel was lovely, the animation team for the 3 year old was outstanding, there was always something to keep her amused. Sandra from the animation team was always chatty and very helpful to us all, nothing was too much for her. My only criticisms would be the waiter service in the main hotel restaurant was slow, I felt they needed more staff to cope with the amount of guests. The food and drink was good, plenty of variety, although I did miss an omelette station for breakfasts!!! I would recommend this as more of a family hotel rather than groups of golfers as the set up for children is brilliant, they would never get bored. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel...

Room Tip: A standard room is very nice, you wouldn't need to upgrade
