I have never written on trip advisor before however after this holiday I need to. This hotel is the best ever, staff and service is second to none, they truly cannot do enough for you. The Asian and Italian restaurants are superb and the the main eating restaurant is equally as good. The management team do an amazing job and go out of there way to ensure everyone is having the best service possible. Huge thank you to Rida, Teylan and Erkan missing Fatima and her bar team x they too are amazing serving all known brand drinks thank you so much for an amazing holiday x we will definately be back.

Returned from a week holiday with my mum and my 10 year old daughter on 22nd July. This is the first time we have been to Turkey and found that the transfer time to the hotel was perfect (around 20 minutes).
We arrived at around 1am and were met by Ridor, one of the management team. He was very attentive and made sure that we were happy with our room before leaving us. We saw him every day after that and he would always come and ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything which was very nice.

We stayed in a superior double with sea view. This was a lovely room and whilst other reviews say to push for a high floor we were on floor 1 and the view was great. There were two large single beds and a double pull out sofa bed.
The room was large and the bathroom was excellent with a walk in shower although drawer and cupboard space is minimal and there are only a few hangers in the wardrobe so take some with you.

The food in the hotel was fantastic. We have been to 5 star hotels in Spain and the Balearics previously but the food here was by far the best we have ever had especially the deserts and fresh fruit. There is always fresh cooking going on with a selection of meats and fish for you to chose from to be cooked in front of you.

The pool area is large and there were always beds available. The nicest area was a small green which overlooks the beach and is in between the slides and the pool. The slides were open for a couple of hours in the morning and again in the afternoon.

There is a separate pool area for the kids club which has a fantastic kids pool with small slides and water features which is perfect for kids up to the age of 10ish but a god send for parents with toddlers as the water is very shallow.

The kids club is split into 3 or 4 groups depending on age. I saw the teenage group being taken to play beach volleyball, golf and one day were given a kick boxing lesson by outside coaches.
My daughter made pizza, biscuits, played mini golf and joined in the arts and crafts.
The young women who run the mini club did speak English but they were difficult for my daughter to understand at times and vice versa - I think they were mainly Eastern European as are a large number of the guests. It would be very beneficial if the staff dealing with the children could improve on their English only for the children's sake.
My daughter was the only English child attending the club and often instructions were not given in English - staff do need to remember to repeat everything in English and not just cater for the Russian and Latvian children.
It would also be nice for the kids club team to approach the children in the morning and ask if they would like to come an join in - we've experienced this in other hotels where the staff come to the pool area and speak with the kids and their parents which makes the kids feel happier about joining the group and the parents feel at ease with the staff. In this hotel you had to find the kids club yourself and approach the staff whilst they were already in the middle of a game or crafts etc. which is not ideal,
All of that said the activities in the kids club were really very good and there were a large number of friendly staff to deal with the children. If the English was a bit better this would be one of the best kids clubs I have seen.

All of the staff in the bars and restaurants were very friendly. I have read other reviews where people complained that the staff level of English was poor. I did not find this a problem at all. Staff regularly came around the sun beds with trolleys of cold drinks and there are always staff on skates ready to get you a coffee or cocktail.

The only issue I had around the pool area was that some nationalities felt it appropriate to allow their toddlers in the pool without a swim nappy. For obvious reasons I wasn't overly happy about this - last year in Tenerife our hotel pool was closed for the entire day on 2 occasions as young children had been to the toilet in the pool (not for a wee!). The life guards should really have dealt with this for the sake of every guest. I did mention this to the Thompson rep who agreed.

The evening entertainment was on the whole really good - my 10yr old loved the mini disco which again was probably the best I've experienced.

Belek market is a good morning out. We went on the Saturday but I thinks it's open on Wednesday too. It has the usual old rubbish and knock off Ralph Lauren T shirts etc but it is well worth a visit. There are a lot of shops to have a look in too - they are all a 'samey' but again worth a look. Make sure you barter even in the shops. Drop their price by half as a starting point.

We were told that we could get a bus to the market but my advice is spend the 10 - 12 Euro's they want for a cab - in 42 degrees heat the 20 bus ride is not an inviting thought. Watch out though for the cabs that you get outside the hotel barrier - the one we got in was filthy and halfway to the market I saw was appeared to be sick on the interior door and could not wait to get out! On the way back you'll easily find the cab area - these cabs are very clean and the drivers much better.

We took a mixture of Turkish lira, Euros and English. My advice is take Lira for tipping in the hotel and Euro's for buying in the market and paying for cabs. If you want an expensive item - jewellery etc you may be better buying in Sterling.

In regards to tipping I'm not sure what the protocol is really but we always tipped at Lunch and dinner (around 10 - 15 lira which is about £5) and if sitting at the bar for a few drinks we'd leave 5 lira. The staff work so hard and are so attentive I don't understand how people don't tip but I saw plenty of people not doing it.

You definitely need to visit the cigar bar in the evening for a cocktail and the patisserie for an afternoon snack. Also the restaurant by the pool was a lovely change from the main restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to visit the other restaurants but we saw people dining in them and the food look great.

My mum has already booked for June next year and I would definitely like to return next July.

Room Tip: All sea view rooms are great but for a central view of the sea and the pool you will need a suite.

My wife and I visited this hotel for one week in July; I wish we would have booked for at least two weeks. We are regular Riu Hotel & Resort users’ accumulating some 40 visits to Riu but this is not like any Riu we have visited before. This hotel is a cut above the rest, truly outstanding and the management and staff genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. It may be a little more expensive with Thomson compared to other hotels but if you are discerning travellers’ like ourselves then I think you will find it good value for your money. Well done Riu Kaya Palazzo!

Room Tip: We stayed in the main building and asked for an upper floor room for the views.

I don't usually write reviews but feel compelled to do so after returning two days ago from a holiday which more than exceeded my expectations! We arrived at the hotel at 2am and were checked in efficiently, and shown to our rooms by the bell boy.
The rooms are light spacious and very modern - ours overlooked the garden area but we could still see the sea! The mini bar contained branded soft and alcoholic drinks, and there was also a selection of Pringles, Oreo biscuits and chocolates all replenished on a daily basis.
The food is fantastic with plenty of choice and the main dining room offers an Adults only section. We also ate at the Italian restaurant (extra charge of €15 per head) but amazing food so good value.
We were greeted every day by Rida the hotel manager who made it his duty to speak to everyone both around the pool and on the beach - no mean feat due to the size of the complex. His mission solely to check that everyone was enjoying themselves - how could we not!
There is a good sized pool serviced by a separate bar and snack area - although it was noticeably more busy towards the end of our 11 nights stay, there was plenty of room for everyone! Drinks and fruit were offered both around the pool and on the beach on a daily basis - great idea to use roller blading waitresses - no need to get off your sun lounger!
The beach is just beyond the pool area and although slightly pebbly at the waters edge the temperature of 25'C soon makes up for that!
Evening entertainment is laid on with various dance/circus acts but if that isn't your thing you can always retreat to the cigar lounge!
Not many Brits there, the majority would be Russian and Eastern European - but this didn't bother us, it was great being able to just "switch off"!
Although a large hotel you are soon made to feel an individual by the numerous attentive staff!
It's the first time we've stayed in a Riu Hotel but we'll definitely be back!
Thank you Rida and your fabulous staff for making our holiday so special
Steve & Rachel

This is located in a nice area in the Turkish coast, close to the airport of Antalya, easily accessible. The majority of guests were Russian and Turkish. The hotel has all the most fastidious guest may need. The room was large, well furnished with nice vuews to the complex of swimming pools and the sea, The bed was excellent. The bathroom large and with good amenities. Service was excellent. Minibar, towels, fruits were frequently replenished. The air conditioning worked very well.
The hotel has many facilities and despite its size in terms of rooms, there is never the sense of being crowded. The swimming pool was excellent. The access to the beach very easy. The temperature of the sea water was above 25 centigrade!, brilliant. Small bites and drinks were offered continuously in the pool and and the beach. In addition to the main restaurant a beach restaurant and BBQ tents offered food outside dinner. To be noted the Patisserie for its tasty Turkish cakes and tea. In general. there were several bars and all were impeccably clean offering best quality and service. Dinner was offered in the main restaurant, In addition there were restaurants a la carte. Food was abundant and varied. Staff was competent and always willing to help. It was not our first RIU and certainly it fulfilled the expectations. Possible points for improvement, the offer of TV channels could be more international.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days in July 2014 and our stay was perfect. We are a family of three, traveling with our son. We usually like using our summer vacation exploring cities, but this year we decided to try relaxation and sunbathing.
We arrived in the early morning and were quite hungry after a long flight. So it was a nice surprise that we were guided straight to the all night buffet :) This sort of set the tone for our stay.
There was a huge selection of food in the buffet. The room was spacious, clean and beds very comfortable, we had a nice view of the ocean. The minibar was restocked daily. The swimming pool area and the beach were perfect. And they put on shows every evening in addition to sports and other guest activities during the day. Our check out time on our final day was noon, and our flight home didn't leave until 1 am the next morning. So we were at bit concerned about which facilities we could use the final day. No need to worry. The hotel kindly offered to put our luggage in storage, and we could use all the facilities in the spa area, including lockers for our clothes and private belongings and showers after sunbathing. This allowed us to enjoy our last day by the pool and to shower before going to the buffet in the evening.
We would definitely recommend this resort. And we have already decided to plan a similar vacation next summer, and there is a good chance, that we will be back to this resort.

We arrived 24 June and stayed for 2 weeks.
The first thing we looked for is the hotel that some other people obviously stayed in given some of the reviews written before we arrived.
Lets look at the main contributing factors for a great holiday for us.

Food
Fantastic food everyday in the main buffet including a fresh fish counter where you can choose the actual fish you want and they cook that one for you fresh. So much choice and quality probably the best we have experienced in a holiday hotel. Look out for the chocolates being made fresh in the restaurant. Lunchtime at the beach restaurant is extremely good quality, look out for Deniz great service.

Only did the steak restaurant on the specialist restaurant list which again was very good.

Rooms
We had a garden room which was great the main thing was quietness away from the main hotel. Can't see why you would pay extra to stay in the main hotel. Comfy beds, very clean room and well serviced, mini bar topped up regularly great power shower.

Beach
Warning!!
The beach is very very hot and many people burnt their feet. The entrance into the sea is quite pebbly so take some beach shoes with you, better still take 100 pairs with you and make a fortune as the shop in the hotel doesn't sell them!! The beach aerobics with Sandra is brilliant! Fresh fruit delivered to your sun bed daily along with drinks and ice cream

Pools
Very clean main pool although beds are at a premium at busy times and a little to close together for us.
The aqua park at the hotel is fantastic especially for us 51 year olds with no kids!

Bars
Many bars all offering premium branded drinks, branded ice creams, chocolates, and fruit all delivered with a smile and in some bars on roller blades. Say hello to Fatma at the cigar bar great service with a smile.

Entertainment had professional show most nights look our for the puppet show!!

Summary
Best holiday hotel we have visited and we have visited many 5 star hotels in our time. We are planning next year already.

Just like to mention the following people who go that extra mile to make your stay that bit better
Hassan, Umet, Veysel, Rida, Fatma, Deniz, Nilah

Thanks for a great holiday .
Steven & Maureen
