“Brilliant family holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2012

We have just returned from the Paloma Grida Village for 10 nights in mid may with two children age 4 1/2 and nearly 2 and we all had a fantastic time, both our children loved every minute, the weather was gorgeous every day, the swimming pools were great, slides brilliant, the food was amazing with lots of choice and always really fresh and tasty, the beach was clean and well looked after, all the staff were lovely and great with the kids, will definately return next year.

Room Tip: We stayed in a standard room with a cot and this was big enough for us as a family

Just returned from our first time to Paloma Grida, family of four - 2 children (4 and 2) and we had an absolutely brilliant time. Everything was outstanding, the food, cleanliness, staff, entertainment and facilities. Nobody wanted to come home and we are looking into returning next year.

We have just returned from the Grida Holiday Village after a great 7 night break in late May/early June and are a family with 2 children aged 10 and 8. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Grida Village to our friends and family. The location is fabulous, right on the beach. The facilities were very impressive and incredibly well maintained, with a level of cleanliness that is to be applauded. The gardens and grounds were immaculate. We went for the basic family room, and whilst this wasn't the biggest we have stayed in and did not have sea-views it was perfectly adequate and cleaned daily, and there is so much to do and so many areas just to sit and chill-out we probably spent less time in our room than we have on other resorts. Our kids loved the water-slides (so did Mum and Dad !!), each of the 4 slides offered a different level of adrenalin rush, from the milder blue and turquoise slides for the younger children to the rainbow and yellow slides for those wanting a slightly more exciting ride. The pool areas were well laid out and kept very tidy and clean. Even though our visit coincided with the UK half-term, the slides were never overtly busy. Indeed as the complex is pretty large it never seemed too busy with plenty of quieter areas to relax in, and plenty of different options in terms of bars and restaurants, although to be honest we found the food in the main buffet restaurant so good and varied that we ate there every night. Special mention must be given to Zomm Bar in the main "village street", a great place for a quiet shady drink in the afternoon (along with some very nice cakes from the "Patisserie" (again as part of the all-inclusive package), but with a real "buzz" in the evening with nightly live music. We were very pleased that all cocktails were included in the all-inclusive package. We liked the fact that the resort had an "international" feel to it, and was not a "Blackpool in the Sun". It was nice to see all the various nationalities mixing at the kiddies disco, the shows and the legendary Zomm Bar. We did not see or experience any negativity between nationalities.
All in all, we were very impressed with this hotel, the staff and the attention to detail.

We have booked to return taking another 2 families. We highly recommend this resort for families. Our children had the best time ever ..... If the children are happy then it makes life so much easier. They performed in the lion king best show of the . everything u need lovely small complex food was great children loved there snack bar. The kids club was brilliant mine never would normally go but asked every day to go. Our room was Also great if I had to find a negative it would be it's quite difficult to book restaurants for more than one family but customer services always try to help. Can't wait to be back there. The Barnes/green

Just returned from Paloma Grida for 2 weeks in early May as Grandparents, parents and 2 year old Granddaughter and I was alarmed to see reviews stating “prison” and “full of Russians” both prior to and after my trip.
I am happy to confirm that they are a result of someone having some untypical bad experience of some sort and a typical British attitude of “going abroad only to find it is full of foreigners”. The Paloma Grida is ideal for families with children as it is designed around their requirements.
If you accept the fact that the Antalya region (Belek/Side etc.) was pioneered by Germans so primarily caters for them and that now the eastern bloc is no more and the Eastern Med is now open to Russians, Ukrainians etc.(with their own food and attitude related excesses) who have large populations and will outnumber the Brits in Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt et-al . . . they go out of their way to make all nationalities feel included. The layout of Paloma Grida is unique in that it has no central building but a central street layout containing Reception, Main Bar, Coffee Shops and various outlets all in a semi open air layout with outlying accommodation, restaurants, bars, pools and other sun & play areas.
Meals are varied, but as with all all-inclusive arrangements, it can become “samey” . . . a tip would be not to take bits of everything, but to have a meal of a particular type each time i.e. chicken, beef (veal), lamb, spaghetti etc. as there are only so many variations of each you can do. Breakfasts include fry-ups (excluding anything pork related – bacon, sausage etc. as it is primarily a Moslem country although frankfurters are plentiful) pancakes, omelettes and continental breakfasts. Lunches are burgers, Hotdogs (frankfurter),Pizza (Turkish style) or a limited version of evening Dinner menus. Dinner consists of a variety of beef (veal), chicken or lamb based meals indoors or spaghetti/macaroni, meatball, spit-roast chicken, kebabs, liver and more display cooked outside . . . (chips and good ketchup are always available, including breakfast if that is your thing) salads are extensive and varied. I question the charge of 10 euro for the Chinese al-a-carte, which although quite acceptable for quality as a meal, has Sushi (Japanese) as a starter, Ravioli (Italian) as a main with no prawn crackers, satay or spring rolls in sight, which strangely are regularly available at the buffet restaurant!!
Drinks . . . various fruit Juice is always available in restaurants and bars of the UHT type (apple is very popular), fresh OJ for breakfasts . . . . Beer is the national brand of Efes available from all bars and restaurants, wine is very acceptable in white, red or rose (our favourite) by medium or large glass or in restaurants by the bottle . . all sprits are there, local or some international (Malibu, Havana Club etc.) the local Baileys is fine . . . bottled or “one-drink” packs of water are available everywhere.
Rooms are more than adequate, the balcony’s are smallish, the beach towels are refreshed every 3 days officially but are delivered on request to Guest Relations . . .we actually had 5 spare new towels at any time that just turned up . . . . . bedding and bath towels were renewed daily it seemed to us (as were loo rolls).
The important thing was the staff, all of whom were exceptionally friendly and helpful, from the waiters, the housekeeping, reception and Guest Relations. The public face is the Amimation (Palomotion) Team who were exceptional, both the Kids Club and the Adult arms . . . The Kids Club Team Leader was insane (in a good way) and will no doubt end in an early grave, our Granddaughter really enjoyed the mini club dancing about 8.30pm (was somewhat overawed by the pushy parents of all nationality’s who insisted on intervening for videos etc.) The adult entertainment was good quality with mostly professional acts, although you can only take so much acrobat based turns . . . . As I said, the Palomotion Team were all excellent both by day and night, with a special mention for Hasan (Donald – for his duck impressions) who was a particular hit with our Granddaughter who is her first love I am sure!! – I believe Hasan and some others are moving on in June to the new Paloma Oceana Hotel in Side – their gain.
As with all Turkish Resorts in my experience, Guest relations are excellent and your first point of contact with any issues, as are the Reception Team . . .I stupidly left my beach bag on the back of the chair in the main restaurant at lunch (with my Kindle in it) and only realised 4 hours later . . I went to reception to enquire and within 10 minutes was reunited with it bagged & tagged by housekeeping . . . would that happen in the UK???
Two negative, safety, points were that a) whilst all other drinks around the pool were rightly served in good quality plastic containers wine was still served in glass and b) the kiddies swings in the play area had no T-bar on them so they could potentially slip through the seats.
Overall a very enjoyable holiday.

Room Tip: Avoid a "Main Street" room if you retire early (noise) - e-mail requests to Paloma main ad...

Dear Guest,

First of all it's great to read detailed and keen information about our services and staff. Thank you for taking time to comment about Paloma Grida village and spa.

As you adequately put in your review we never seperate our guest related with their nationality and we are happy to see that guests are building great friendships in time from different nationalities in here.

I also would like to inform you that we serve those good quality plastic containers near pools to avoid any injury from the broken glass but we serve wine in glass if our guests request and we are depending on the pool safety rule and expecting our guest shouldn't take it by the pool . Life Guard on duty are also checking the pool side and warn guests if there is any violation in general. There is 2 Kids swing and they have a safety bar but not in T-bar shape. We can consider changing it to T-bar which is much more safer.

Once again I would like to thank you for both your positive and constructive feedback.
Hope to see you back in one of the Paloma hotels.

Best Regards,

we was told one day before we arrived their was no thomas cook kids club , which to be fair they gave us money back , how ever the hotel run kids disco was repetitive and dull , too much chit chat and not enough music for the kids , pools were great , as were the kids water slides , food was repetitive , but always is on a all inclusive basis , hotel was very pretty and the garden staff work really hard to keep it looking good , the zoom bar was nice in the afternoon to relax with cake and a glass of wine , overall we had a nice time , would have been excellent if the entertainment was worth staying awake for and the kids disco was hell of a lot better .........

Room Tip: dont choose a groud floor as you hear the arrivals during the night

We booked this hotel thro Thomas Cook, wanting a nice hotel, all inclusive and plenty of action for my 2 kids age 10 and 5 years old, after arriving 12 hrs later than than the orignal flight time, we arrived at the hotel to find our room was ready, but not what i booked, advised to go back to the reception the following morning and we were changed to a superior room with a pool/ sea view. The room was spacious and clean with a small balcony with a nice view of the pool. we missed the welcome meeting the first day, so we had a good look round the hotel and all seem fine, the kids went off on the water slides and we all had fun. Went to the buffet restarant and watched the evening entertainment in the beach bar, ( Neon Circus) they were the best show I have seen on a holiday, The following day I went to see the rep.....NOT GOOD she tells me there is no Thomas Cook kids club, only the hotel run one, which my 2 kids thought was boring........we booked this one specially for the english reps to do the kids club, wanted my kids to be spilt up into different groups, Grace The rep immeadiatly says we will be compensated....NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!! we should av been told beforehand about this and should av been offered elsewhere, We made the best of the holiday, but spent more than we wanted on entertaining the kids, the hotel run club, was charging for certain activities...10 euros for t shirt painting, 10 euros for pillowcase painting.....10 euros for xbox/playstation...etc, the entertainment team was not very good, unless you wanted to do Zumba, water areobics, step....then you will be fine, no fun games the hotel was 90% full of Russians/Germans, not many english, and the kids disco was tedius and repetitive and very boring, singing and sceaming down the mic was not my kids kind of fun.......The holiday was begining to feel like groundhog day, same things and same entertainment same food which we thought was not very good, it says there are 7 restarants but 2 were closed, we ate in the seasons, it was ok nothing special. no air conditioning, I would not go back to this hotel, and for what we paid it certainly was not worth it.
