“If you look for all-inclusive sun & sea, this is your paradise”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

One of the widest variety of high-quality, delicious food and open buffets I have ever seen. And no lines whatsoever even during the busisest hours. Same for beverages, available in several locations throughout the facility. Some also come with live music (usually rock and pop) of acceptable quality. The atmnosphere of such booze & music locations are a bit artifical, but this is unavoidable in a holiday village setting, I suppose.
Pools are plenty and "I mean it, big! But my clear choice was for the sandy beach and the warm, calm Mediterranean waters washing it. Hotel was full when I stayed, yet no problems with finding available beach chairs and umbrellas. Rooms are a bit on the simpler side, and don't expect to get a view unless you pay the extra. But don't trick yourself: if you intended to stay in your room, this is not he facility you are looking for. From the breakfast to pool/beach, then lunch, and again time on the beach, and after dinner, whole variety of evening activities and music extending into midnight. Who wants to stay in their roms in such setting?
The staff was helpful and hard-trying throughout the stay; the pace at which used tables were cleaned and prepared for the next client was truly impressive.
Overall, if looking for quality all-inclusive holiay village type of holiday, this is the one...
Few tips: 1) try to avoid the warmest July and August months for this part of Turkey, as the entire charm of outdoor spaces could be rendered unberable by sheer heat.
2) The city center of Belek some 10 minutes walking distance is full of shops - deserves at leats one evening after dinner at hotel. Warning: some are pretty tempting and don't go there if you will regret spending some money...

We stayed at the Paloma as 2 families, with children aged 8, 4, 2 and 1. We had a lovely time at the Paloma but there are still some faults which I think the resort management need to improve on. Sorry for long review too but lots to write about !

Resort

Beautifully laid out, peaceful and clean, not too big either, all pools in close proximity to each other and the beach is literally a 1 minute stroll down a walk way. Watersport available on the beach too, free use of pedelo and cannoo's for Paloma guests.

Pools

These were fab, very clean, water lovely and warm, perfect for the little ones especially. The Entertainment team did their stuff around the first main large pool you come to then there's another one further away which doesn’t have any music playing etc…….The music and games are on between 10am and 12.30pm then again at 2pm til 5pm so you do get times during the day when there isnt music on around the main pool.
We did have issues whilst we were there with pools being shut due to people pooing in the pool - they were shut for 24hrs at a time which I did think was a little excessive but my main concern here was there were loads of people allowing their young, clearly un-potty-trained children in the pools with no nappies on - your just asking for trouble here - I think there should be a rule that young children who don’t wear swim nappies shouldn’t be allowed in as pools closing for 24 hrs at a time is a pain, especially when it’s the waterslide pool I mean that’s one of the main attractions for everyone ! Talking of the slides these were great and safe - on from 10am - 12pm then 2pm - 5pm - lifeguards always on duty - our kids loved them ! 1 little niggle though, flooring around all pools very slippery so be ware !

Rooms

Like lots of people on here we did have issues with our room. We booked a standard room and the other family we travelled with booked a superior. We were first given a room in house 24. This room was dark, dingy, had a tiny balcony and had ants in the bathroom. The next day I complained and asked to be moved and we were given a lovely room in House 16 - this room was decorated exactly like the superior rooms so cream neutral colours, bright, airy, a balcony big enough for 2-3 people to go out on at one time and was just 100 times better than the other room - this room was also still a standard so they have obviously refurbished some of the standard rooms but not others. The superior rooms are all in house 19 which has views of the sea and pools - the only difference from these rooms to the 2nd room we were given was that the bathroom had a separate shower cubical, and if anything our balcony was actually bigger so main tip here is ask for a room in HOUSE 16 !! Our room was also plenty big enough for the 4 of us with lots of wardrobe space, a tv, free safe etc……more english tv channels needed though - we ended up watching scooby doo in German the whole time !!

Entertainment

This was fine for us, our kids loved the mini disco which is on daily at 8.30 and the shows that follow were as I expect in hotels abroad - tacky but watchable - nothing out of this world but the kids seemed glued to some of them ! One night they did the mini disco down at the beach club - it was called the four seasons party and after the mini disco it turned into a rave !! Green laser lights and hard dance music then along came the foam and water !! The kids absolutely loved it - bit strange for us adults all being there with prams and young children in hand but it was a good night.

Food

Plenty of variety at breakfast lunch and dinner - food was fresh, could see lots of food being cooked in front of you at the outside food station, we never got bored. We ate in the Chinese, Seasons intl restaurant and Safran turkish restaurant - all really nice not sure why they charge you extra for the chinese though as it wasn’t out of this world and if anything the non-paying restaurants were better. Safran has the best location right by the beach - we ate here most lunchtimes too - still buffet style just on a smaller scale but again the location much nicer than the main restaurant - saying that the outside seating area in main restaurant does have lovely views of sea and pools too but on a much larger scale so doesn’t seem to relaxing as Safran

Kids Club

There are 2 on site one run by Thomas Cook and the other by the hotel, both are housed next to each other within the play park which again is fab for the kids, ours were in there for hrs most days playing on the swings, slides and the merri-go-rounds that go on at different times during the day. Our kids used the TC kids club on a few occasions and always said they had a good time - they also do evening activities which are at extra cost but if you wanted a kid free evening these are perfect !! The hotel kids club seemed to be used by the other nationalities which were staying at the hotel but we took our kids in there one day and they loved it, made cookies and necklaces !

Overall we had a fab holiday but the room situation did put a downer on our first couple of days - Having read all the reviews before and after our hols this is obviously a major problem which is sad because the resort itself has so much to offer but horrible damp smelling tiny rooms would ruin anyones holiday. Also not that it bothered us too much but the English are definitely the minority here and we did find that not a lot of the staff spoke english that well at all which did get annoying when trying to order dinners and drinks etc…..For what we paid we did think it was good value for money but if we had not been able to move to the much nicer room this would not be the case.

Room Tip: Request HOUSE 16 if you've booked a standard - these rooms are large and decorated exactly the s...

We are a family of 5 with kids aged 18,15 and 5 so a broad age range to please.. and I can honestly say the Paloma Grida ticked everyone's box ! We booked 2 rooms a 'Promo' for my teenage daughters which was absolutely fine for them and we had a superior room which was huge and had all we needed -comfy beds, air con, clean towels and bathroom with bath and shower cubicle.. also a well stocked mini bar which had beer, fizzy drinks, water and carton drinks .
During our stay we went to all of the restaurants apart from the Chinese .
Main Restaurant -good choice every breakfast/lunch/evening with a slight change of theme e,g Fish and Mexican nights . All food excellent quality and plenty of it. Also they provide a kids early lunch/dinner which was great for my youngest as it had kiddie friendly food that they could choose for themselves.
Lake House Restaurant - 15 Euro pp supplement but very nice for a romantic meal for 2 . Food very good and relaxing atmosphere. Shame supplement is as high as I think it may put some off going as we were the only ones there.
Season's Restaurant -we all went to this one and felt this was probably the worst meal we had although elements of it were good the lack of atmosphere and surly staff made us feel like we were raced through the meal.. think we were fed and out within 40 min !
Saffron - great food and lovely friendly staff. We all enjoyed this one at lunch as well as the a la carte evening meal.
Ada - again just the 2 of us went and this was a beautiful setting and meal. Staff very attentive and food delicious .
My hubby and I both agreed this holiday was what a proper holiday should be about.. and doing as much or as little as we liked. The Palomation team were absolutely brilliant and really worked hard at making sure everyone had fun when they wanted to take part in activities . The shows they did at night too were fantastic... the 2 main shows Lion King and Mamma mia
were our favourites. A friend of ours recently came back from Belek and her entertainment consisted of the acrobatic shows and comedy shows in Russian so I think we were lucky to have such a great entertainment team! Hotel kids club was great and although all nationalities my little boy didn't feel left out and even had a part in Lion King along with his other kids club friends!
Spa was lovely.. treatments are a little pricey..but you're on holiday so nice to treat yourself ! Also spa pool nice to escape to when sun gets too much .
I could go on about our hol and how much we enjoyed it but it's what you make it yourselves and the facilities are definitely there for you to take advantage of at Paloma Grida ! Happy Hols :-)

We arrived at the paloma grida 26th August & all I can say is it was Amazing! I travelled with my family, husband & two children 8 and 4 years. We had a twin room in block 32 which consists of a double bed, single & a folded bed which didn't leave much walk space but we just pushed all the beds together and it was fine. Cleaners in everyday, minibar stocked daily, clean beach towels every 3 days. We could not fault the complex at all, the pools r lovely but whilst we where there 2 ov them got shut off for 24hrs as somebody had a little accident in there but that didn't bother us as there's other pools to go into. Loads for children to do, great selection of food & plenty ov restaurants.
It truly is a fantastic place, we loved every minute during our stay & we will b returning

For those who dont want to read a full review i will do a summary to start,
The village itself is beautifully kept&all areas are spotless, the pools are fantastic,a quiet one for chilling&the main one with the music and games etc, slide pool good too.The beach was just ok,not lovely clear water i was expecting. The food is lovely&plentiful even for fuss pots. The A.I beer is not good all served in small plastic beakers, ask for a light beer, that comes in a bottle&is slightly more pallatable!!wine not pleasant either but the shorts are ok.All the staff we encounted were perfectly pleasant.Heard lots of horror stories about rooms, but ours(1944)was perfectly fine, good size, very clean&plenty of storage. Our main issue was entertainment, its a mini disco each night(same songs)then a show, basically all acrobat/dance shows&all over by 10.30,you can then go to zomm bar which has a quite nice atmosphere but difficult to find a seat&the singers are of working mans club calibre!!!!not our cup of tea&certainly not the kids/teens.Thomas cook kids club good but beware of all the chargeable extra activities. The palomation team were brill&did a fab job in the day&tried hard at night.
A MORE DETAILED ACCOUNT..........
VILLAGE-
Its very large&pleasant looking and as i said spotless. The main area is around the ampitheatre where the evening entertainment takes place. The "street"where the zomm bar is is very nice,a great place to chill in the afternoon with a slab of delicious cake from the back of the zomm bar!!.
ROOMS-
As i said our room was fine,we booked through Thomas cook&paid for a family room so the kids had a bed each&didint have to top&tail. We had a double bed that was very comfy&a single then a sofa bed that was slightly larger than usual&served its purpose.Maybe our room had been recently done up because our decor was fine&the bathroom was fab,a bath with overhead shower&a seperate shower cubicle,It was cleaned every day&fresh towels. We got beach towels that were changed 3 times in our 2 week stay, but the trolley was always around so you could change them yourself!!!plenty of storage&the free safe. All the balconies are crap&very tiny, our view was trees&the opposite block, dont think many of the rooms had fantastic views. Our air con was fine but we left it on ALL day so the room was lovely&cool, the maid also left it on,in other hotels they have always turned it off!!it does seem a old system so i can imagine why some people said it wasnt very good.
FOOD-
We found the food of a very high standard, although geared more for the russian/french/german guest there was always something nice even for fussy kids!!!in the main restaurant there are choices inside and out so its best to just have a look at both then decide so your not walking about with a full plate. The dining room is huge&no issues finding tables in or out.At lunch you can also eat in the pool restaurant(forgot name)they serve mainly snacks like bugers&salads, this one can get quite busy.Didnt use any of al la carte didnt see the need.Keep a eye out in the afternoon for the wagon that stands near the palomation hut they hace different fruit each day, gorgeous plums, peaches, corn on the cob etc.The food was always well re-stocked at each meal&we thought it was really lovely, well presented.Again the dining room is very very clean.
POOLS-
The main pool is where the palomation team hang out doing daily activities&games, they ask if you want to join in but if you dont they leave you alone, its a fun pool with music played most of day,the other huge pool is the quieter one with no music etc nice&relaxing. The slide pool is nice&always busy, most people seem to respect the rules&if they dont the lifeguard is on hand.
ENTERTAINMENT-
This was our main dissapointment after reading all the reviews.Get to the ampitheatre early to get a table if not your sat on the concrete, there are cushions but still not comfy to sit there for a couple of hours. The mini disco starts about 8.30 for half a hour-45mins same songs each night!!!!then the main show, dont get me wrong the shows are professional&good but when youve seen one lot of acrobats&dancers youve seen them all,its just different music&costumes.By 10.30 its all over and some people go up the "street"but i think mnost go to bed!it would be better if they left the music on in bianco bar so you could sit&chat, but they turn the tunes off&then the lights even though its a 24hr bar!!!up the street is quite nice but its just people singing cheesy songs with a keyboard, you can have a dance if you want, nothing for the kids to do here at all. There is a beach bar for the older ones&it seemed really good but sadly our kids were too young so we missed out, there was one night they were allowed but the music was heavy dance so still not appropriate.
All in all we had a lovely stay,i dont think we would come again but thats more because once youve been to Belek once there isnt really much else to see,its great for shopping though but nowhere to go if you want a change for the evening. The kids enjoyed the Thomas cook kids club &its a godsend for them to go to get out of the sun for a while ,there room is air con heaven!!!they do a few activities that you have to pay extra for, parties,t shirt &sand picture painting. The hotel have there own club too but i think the other nationalaties use it more so cant comment on that. There is a teenage room with computers&playstations that in the shade too,but i think there are taking turn issues!!!!!The Brits are defo minority here but it didnt spoil for us everyone we encouted were perfectly nice&friendly. The Paloma is a loveloy resort&im sure you will enjoy your stay.

I can fully appreciate how some English people feel after staying at this resort... We had booked independently and also booked a duplex room as it appears though all English are directed to the accommodation at front of property. As we entered a pitch black dank stairwell the foreboding took over folded camp beds blocking the walkways etc we entered a room the first thing to hit was the smell not good I went to inspect our garden view, if you consider a wall and water pipes a view this is the place for you !!! The main bedroom was a good size and the living area was my 16 year olds accommodation a sofa covered in a sheet not a bed seriously doubt she would have fitted on it as very short. My husband went straight to reception before the porter could put cases in !!! We were one of the lucky ones, after being shown a further room which was worse we were given a duplex room in main complex.... Room can best described as satisfactory very dated bed the worst I have slept on balcony so small only one person out at one time. Air conditioning was unadjustable and set to bearable temperature just!! The complex is very clean and on the whole the staff were excellent especially at the bar zoom we did encounter the odd ones that clearly weren't as helpful to English as they were to Turkish or German guests but you can't be liked by everyone !! Food pretty good we couldn't book into any speciality restaurants due to having a short 5 day stay which disappointed especially when told by guest relations bloke that if we could find 10 people to go on a group booking we could !!! Pools excellent but the did seem to be a massive issue at this resort with people doing things they shouldn't in the pool!!! Two pools whilst we were there. In defence of staff they did really clean pools. House keeping good except no refill on mini bar and never left towels once during our stay we found trolley and helped ourselves. This resort is only a very short distance from Belek so good for shops etc. Spa was fantastic staff excellent and treatments the best I have experienced though fairly pricey. Would I revisit??? No probably not don't think it was worth what we paid purely let down on accommodation.

Room Tip: Book main complex !!!!!!

My family visited this hotel early August, 2 adults 2 children aged 5 & 8. Everyone had a fantastic time. The hotel is very clean and tidy. Great selection of food and lots of restaurants (some you do need to book). Loads for children to to which meant the adults got to do as little as they wanted . Would defiantly recommend this hotel you won't be disappointed. I have read a couple of recent negative reviews and I haven't got a clue what they are on about some people just love to moan.
