It had some of the best facilities I have ever seen for making you feel at home.. Wifi everywhere, easy to find towels, good food served everywhere, free laundry and free re stocked mini bar every day. The buffet was good but a little samey but I didn't matter as there were 4 or 5 other restaurants, the Chinese was especially amazing and they all had little snacks waiting on the table for when you got there. The pools were good and it was nice that there were three different ones. The beach was great as well there was loads of shaded sun beds that you didn't have to pay for and it was lovely at night. It showed the World Cup as well which was handy and there was loads to do every night. I would definitely recommend it if you don't want to leave the hotel, however it wasn't close to much and was a bit of a pain to get to but it didn't really matter as it was in such a good location for views.

Our 6th visit to the Xanadu. Enjoyed it as much as our first 6 years ago. We have always been at the same time of year for two weeks and as usual the weather was perfect. Not a single drop of rain. It felt good to be back. The long serving staff members greeted us like long lost friends. The new staff members were lovely. They always had a smile on their face. Always remembered what drinks you wanted. They enjoyed trying to teach guests a few Turkish words. Don't complain when they don't always understand English, consider how much Turkish you have tried to learn before your holiday. A few basics never go amiss. Neither does giving a tip for the service you receive. These young people work long hours for little reward. We were delighted to see that handrails had been placed on all steps around the resort. Even better a handrail is now in place on the steps of the Antique Pool. A suggestion I had been making since our first visit. We felt that the food was as good as ever. Dishes were constantly being replenished in the main buffet. I read in a recent review that the BBQ stations have been reduced. No they haven't ! They have just rearranged them, in fact they have been sited in their original locations from a couple of years ago. We visited all four A La Carte Restaurants twice during our stay. Each visit most enjoyable. We must agree that there does seem less staff in the restaurants and this does lead to slow clearing of tables. Saying this we were never without food or a drink. We were there at the time of the large conference, mainly Russian farmers. Personally I don't think it is a good idea to mix business with pleasure. They did take over the buffet restaurant and the lobby bar and somehow it didn't seem right when we were paying guests on holiday and they were there no doubt having their privileges paid for by someone else. When you consider the hotel offers conference facilities then at least mealtimes could be kept separate from holiday makers. A difficult one and something the new owners need to consider. The addition of the 'Sweet Table' in the main reception area is lovely, but the number of guests who treat this as a "Pick and Mix" stall is appalling ! Children you can forgive to a certain extent but the adults - well I would call it downright Greed !!! People coming along with bags, bowls, etc., we couldn't believe it. I guess allowing for the culture of some foreign guests could make you forgive them, however when it came to one particular couple, she being a Brit, him I'm not sure what his nationality was it had to be seen to be believed. She was loading every different kind of sweet into bowls or onto plates and taking them up to their room and he pushing sweets into his mouth with the tongs provided for picking up individual sweets. Disgusting !!! How to spoil and possibly stop a nice touch. This year we were presented with our Silver Card. What a lovely perk. The best think was the complimentary visit to the Spa each day. The saving of 88 euros to extend our room on the day of departure was also very nice. The gifts of a silver necklace and leather wallet were a very nice touch. All this for 74 nights. Roll on 100 nights and a Gold Card! We don't know of any other hotel which offers this incentive. We understand that the hotel is to be closed from the 3rd November until May for further refurbishment and a new building offering further accommodation. We await with anticipation what difference this will make but we are hopeful of our 7th visit next year.

We spent a week here recently after some careful consideration and reading all sorts of reviews.
Arrival was late on a Saturday night but we were given a warm welcome by the reception staff with drinks and a large selection of local sweets in the plush foyer area. We were then shown to our room and were told where we could get a late bite to eat which was very helpful.
The room was on the 3rd floor and was overlooking the rear of the property, not a sea view but a great view over towards the hills. The room was well appointed, clean and quiet. The A/C wasn't ice cold but sufficient for our needs. The rooms were cleaned and bedding, towels etc changed every day.
There is also a free laundry service which is well worth doing to save all the washing when you get home!
Food: No complaints on the food at all. Breakfast was always good with plenty to choose from. If you want a tip, go to the secret garden for breakfast, its smaller and quieter and plenty to choose from (also the tea and coffee is nicer) Lunch, take your pick! There is the main restaurant where there is an overdose of food, the pool bar where you can get, pizza, chicken wings, burgers and chips and various other spots all worth visiting. There was also a BBQ, think it may be every Tuesday in the secret garden which was just fabulous. Dinner was always good with plenty to choose from. We ate most nights in the main buffet restaurant. One night we tried the Mexican A La Carte, it was ok but service was very slow and to be honest you are probably better sticking with the buffet. Service for meals was generally very good and the majority of staff do try their best. There was the odd occasion where we had a long wait for a drink or the staff didn't understand what we were asking for but overall the food and service was very good.
The amenites are very good. The pools are nice and never a struggle to get a lounger, plenty of space and even thought the hotel was busy when we were there it really didn't feel like it was. The beach is great with larger loungers and parasols.
We tried the spa one day and although the treatments are pretty expensive its a beautiful place and well worth a visit. You can pay 15 euros for a day pass to use the spa which I recommend you do at least once. The pool is lovely going from indoor to outdoor under bridge.
The pool bar or lobby bar are the best place to go at night. We mostly rotated to try and avoid the worst duet I've ever heard, the guy can play the piano but the woman sings like she is being attacked!
There is an area under the hotel with some shops, small bar and a games area. To be honest this is like the land that time forgot. Its always empty and the shops sell fake gear and are very expensive. We took a taxi into Belek one night and the difference in price was huge, so if you are looking to shop just jump in a taxi to Belek, its only 10 minutes away and you can get everything under the sun there.
Overall the hotel was great and we had a really good holiday, but, then what's my reason for my "just about there" heading. Well, from speaking to a number of other holiday makers on our trip it does seem to be the kind of hotel that has a large percentage of repeat custom, with a lot of other couples coming back year after year. But everyone we spoke to said that the holiday experience had certainly slipped recently. And reading some of the other recent reviews it seems to be a common theme. From what we had been told the hotel has recently been bought over and the type of visitor has changed in recent times. Some of the other patrons manners and attitudes left a lot to be desired leaving to quite and uneasy feeling at times especially in the bars in the evenings. There was also a large conference of 150 males there and again at night it was a drunken mob which really didn't give a pleasant holiday feel, with my wife being hassled a few times. Not that it ruined the holiday its just not what we expected and would certainly put us off booking again.
Its a lovely hotel and the staff and food are great. I just hope it doesn't get spoiled in the near future as I fear its beginning to change in the wrong direction......

I have just returned from a lovely 10 day holiday with friends at the Xanadu resort Being a returning guest having previously visited on many occasions over the last 6 years, I have noticed many changes, some good and others not so good. It is a great place to relax and even when full, you can always find a sun bed or somewhere to sit. The last time I was at the Xanadu, they had done away with the towel cards. This meant that when some guests had finished with their sun bed for the day, instead of returning the towels to the towel hut, they would leave them on the sun beds. This meant that the areas around the pools etc were untidy and you could not be sure if someone had finished with their bed or if they were returning. Towel cards were back in use and the majority of guests returned their towels making it easier to see which beds were available.
The main restaurant seemed to be well managed. Tables were cleared promptly and you didn't have to wait too long to be served with a drink. As in the lobby and Xanadu bars service was prompt. The Rose Bud bar was as usual very, very slow, and this is because it is always understaffed. One of the biggest gripes I have, is that some of the bar staff are unable to prepare drinks properly. The drinks are made so strong, that you can’t drink them. My husband asked for a Jack Daniels and coke and was given half a glass of Jack Daniels with a tiny amount of coke!! I was also served a drink in the restaurant that tasted like it had gone off!
Entertainment for the birthday was very good indeed, the show, Alice in Xanadu was most enjoyable and the fireworks were spectacular.
The food on the whole was of a good standard and although there is a wide variety, there was less of a variety as in previous years.
The cleanliness was not up to its usual high standard. There was green algae around the sides of the antique pool which I have never seen before and not a pleasant sight and some of the sunbeds were grubby.
The staff who seem to work very long hours are excellent and really work hard to ensure that you have a lovely holiday.
The one thing that impressed me the most was when I lost my IPhone, it was handed in and I ultimately got it back!! I was very lucky.
Anyone going to the Xanadu for the first time, would find it hard to find fault, but being a serial guest, it is difficult to accept that standards have slipped and the attention to detail is not as it was. I do hope the new owners listen to their returning guests as many people do keep on returning as I will be in September, but I will be trying the Xanadu Island next year just for a change. In summary a wonderful hotel, with friendly guests and staff wanting to make your holiday enjoyable. With so many returning guests, the hotel has been doing something right all this time and it would be a shame if it changed too much.

We travelled as a family of 3 adults and 2 kid (5 and 7 years) and stayed in 2 interconnecting garden rooms on the 1st floor of the garden room accommodation. We arrived on 26th May 2014 for 10 nights.
The hotel is lovely, with traditional Turkish "delights" in the hotel lobby, stunning gardens, a pretty river to cross to a nice beach with generously sized sun shades and luxurious beach pavilions to hire (worth it). Three pools, all like a warm bath and lovely surroundings all about. That's the good news. It would be remiss of me not to mention the poor service and evening shows NOT suitable for family viewing. The kid's club which is "open" so you can't safely leave your children whilst you have an hour or two to yourself. (Something I had overlooked when picking this hotel). There are staff on the kid's club site to "supervise" but they really wouldn't notice the disappearance of a child and there is no "sign in/out facility. We did use the club for the nightly 9pm viewing of Tom & Jerry, my children didn't seem to mind it was the same movie repeated each evening!! The fabulous amphitheatre is brilliant in itself and the show costumes and dancers are almost West End quality, what let's it down is the soundtrack, incredibly loud and distorted - not so bad if you cover your ears! The first show I took my 7 year old daughter too "Show a Little More" - certainly did that and was not really suitable for young family viewing. The second show we went to see as a family "Spanish Dancing" actually had a scene where three nooses came down (I kid you not) and a table where they were acting out a hanging!!! My daughter was very upset, as were we all and got up and left. Not exactly a "fun" holiday show and I did complain to reception that there should be a warning about such distressing scenes in advance. And now for the service, this is what let the holiday down overall. Staff are clearly not trained at all. It was slow - or non existent, it was often easier and quicker to serve yourself! We asked for 2 coffees and 2 baileys, what we got was 2 frappes on ice with the Bailey's in the coffee. We are still pondering how a cup of tea and orange juice can translate to a coke? On ordering 2 pineapple juices with lemonade they both arrived but totally different colours?
Food - plenty of choice and variety and dinner was always a good experience, apart from waiting staff not taking away used plates so you often ended up sitting amongst all your used plates. Again, drinks ordering was hit and miss but did seem to improve as the week went on.
We hired a beach pavilion and was excitedly awaiting our mint cocktail on arrival - which in the end we had to go and request! When the fruit plate arrived it was brilliant, as was the Baklava plate. We didn't stay the whole day as the weather turned and it was like a wind tunnel in the end. We were on the front row of pavilions but the ones near the back were certainly less windy and warmer.
The Xanadu Bar by the main pool had nightly bands from 9.30pm who all seem to sing the same tracks but with a different vibe. Mostly easy listening with a few dance tracks and a small dancing area. However, it was hard to find available seating if you get there around 10pm so it wasn't always possible to join in.
So, great weather, hotel and food, shame about the staff and the shows.

I have to say the Hotel at this moment in time is good, the Main Restaurant is still producing consistent food at a high quality, the areas throughout Xanadu are very well maintained, and in general we had a very good 2 weeks. However there was a couple gripes on this trip that we had not experience on our other 3 , some of the holiday makers behaviours at times was astonishing, seeing a child smack violently is not something you would expect to see in this day In age , I would also say that the mix of Family with conference people Business is not something that goes well, especially when there are over 150 of them being Male, I hope the new owners continue to respect the Families that have consistently used this Hotel over the years and look at ways to ensure this stays a family Hotel, if you have booked for the summer please look forward to it, there are some very nice people working at this place and the surroundings make for a very peaceful and enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: tip the staff, some of them really deserve it, especially the chambermaids, they were fantastic
