“A Great stay at the Rixos”
Reviewed 19 June 2011

We have just come back from a two week stay at the Rixos. We had a fantastic holiday, the staff were very friendly and attentive and could not do enough for you.
The food was very good, and there are lots of places to eat and always with plenty of room. We stayed in the Troy rooms, which were just outside the main hotel block. They were nice and comfortable and very quiet and peaceful. Our only complaint was we had a few problems with the air conditioning which seemed to have a mind of its own.
The hotels grounds are massive and you are given a map to get around which is needed for the first few days, but you soon learn the best ways to get about.
We visited the Troy water park, which is free to enter and food and drinks are also free, but you need to pick from a list by the food counter and they then scan your arm band which you are given upon entry into the water park. Unfortunately you are not told any of this and it took quite a bit of messing around to find out how it all worked. Our other gripe is that the wave rider is 15 euros which again you are not told about before you enter and as its all inclusive you don't normally have money on you during the day.
In all we had a great time and would say the only real problem was a general lack of information about the hotel in general, a book should be in your room with all the information you need.

The Rixos has all the amenities and facilities (and more, to be honest) for a 5 star hotel. Phenomenal family fun; waterpark (excellent), beach (plenty of sunloungers and bar/restaurants), large pool (again, plenty of shade, loungers and poolside bars), excellent food and choice and lots of different bars/lounges for the hotel never to feel too claustrophobic. BUT you can tell it's a huge machine, despite being well oiled, no personal touches, complete lack of customer care (I felt quite invisible in the restaurants and bars) and zero help from reception and front of house staff.

Our welcome at 10 pm consisted of being ushered towards the lift with a map in hand! Stayed at the Gloria Golf in Belek 2 years ago and they have drinks, hot towels, personal care from reception staff and we were made to feel special. Booking one of the a la carte restaurants is a complete nightmare. If you use the kiosks (even in June), all restaurants were always fully booked. Go to the front desk and they come up with all the excuses under the sun and re-direct to the kiosk - kick up a fuss (which on a relaxing holiday in a 5 star hotel SHOULD not be the case) and eventually, they will give in and book you a restaurant.

You can tell the staff see their work as purely a job not a vocation and with a very few exceptions treat your requests with raised eyebrows! I totally appreciate that due to the huge scale of the catering it could well be a chore, but a smile here and then would not go a miss. I was always very careful to be respectful to the staff (did loose it a few times by the end of the holiday though), which a lot of the other nationality did not, so maybe you can appreciate the staff's attitude. Still, quite an expensive holiday and certainly did not have the same sense of luxury and personal touches we received from the GLORIA GOLF.

What a shame, they sooo nearly got it perfect.

Be warned! I have read some other reviews about customer service and did take it with a pinch of salt, but there were absolutely right!

Room Tip: Good luck!!!

We have just returned from a week at Rixos, and celebrated our wedding anniversary there. We were extremely impressed with every aspect of the hotel. It was clean, luxurious, and the staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. Our room was lovely, with a side view of the sea even though we did not pay for this.
As others have mentioned, it is very large, so the 5* standard of hotels abroad may not quite meet those of smaller hotels at home, but this is one of the nicest we have been to. Booking the a la carte restaurants can be tricky, but it is worth mentioning to guest relations if you are celebrating a special occasion, and they are likely to help you to book these. The choice of food in the main buffet restaurant was excellent, and from our experience, staff always very attentive.
There are more than enough sunbeds in the resort, and it was nice not to have to get up early in order to find space as we have had to do in other resorts in the past. Entertainment was of a very high standard all week.
In summary, we had a very enjoyable and luxurious week here and would be happy to go back again.

We have just got back from a 2 week holiday to the Rixos Premium and it was great. The whole resort was absolutely spotless. We stayed in one of the Troy Houses where we had an interconnecting room, I have 3 children age 10,8 & 5, this was perfect for them as there were 3 single beds & an ensuite bathroom. (in reply to an earlier comment)There was a balcony & it did have its own front door but they both had a lock on them & we kept our interconnecting door open, no place is as safe as your own home but I felt the children were very safe.
The restaurants were all great with an amazing choice of food which was constantly available. All drinks & cocktails were free unless you wanted a specific brand name. The service was a bit slow & shock horror, occasionally I had to go to the bar & get my own drink !! If you think you are going to a 5 star city hotel like The Dorchester - no. You are going to a 5 star tourist hotel.
The entertainment was very professional if slightly bizarre at times but you have to remember that you are in a different country with different cultures - if you don't like it, don't watch it !
The shops were very expensive so make sure you take everything you need with you, I had to buy a bottle of suncream which cost me £30.
Overall the hotel was fabulous (& I'm a Hygiene Inspector), so ignore the picky previous reviews, some people just love to complain.

Room Tip: Email the hotel in advance, they were very helpful

Only a few negative points. The a la carte restaurants were not quite up to standard, especially the Chefs and the French but by no means awful. Service was a little slow at times but that could be due to lack of staff in some areas. The main restaurant the Mosaic was a bit of a scrum but no lack of food choices but there were a lot of Russians who don't share the Brits polite attitude toward queueing. We were disappointed by the cost of the Wednesday Gala night with dinner at 150euros!!!! Especially considering how much we paid initially!
In our opinion the Fishbone & the Italian were the best restaurants, along with 1001.
Remember to book early for the a la carte restaurants they fill up quickly. Go to guest relations to book as the computers are very unreliable.
The hotel is lovely, along with the grounds, pools and beach. Loads of sunbeds and the staff will move them anywhere for you. although big, it doesn't feel overcrowded.
Staff very helpful and courteous. Had a great time and would recommend it. Forgot to mention the light show every night at 21.00. Absolutely beautiful, better than Vegas I was told!

Room Tip: We were on 5th floor with lake & seaviews.

Dear Guest,

Thnks for your sharings on Tripadvisor. As we talked with you while your accomodation, I shared your suggestions about our Chef's and Fench restaurants with our Executive Chef. We are so glad for this. We all at your service to give a better experience at Rixos.

Rixos Premium Belek has each night different entertainment programm, Gala Night is on Fridays one time in two weeks and with its shows and restaurant actions it is free of charge but Premium Dinner Show is on Wednesdays and it an exclusive night which is special with its white ala carte setups, white dressed waiters, special menu, georgeus show on the lake with fire dancers, warriors from ancient times, kingdom family, fireworks, etc.. This show is telling the story of King Rixos who brought the happines to the City Perge. It it limited with maximum 200 guest.

Hope to see soon at Rixos and please do not hesitate to write us for any assistance.

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful week’s holiday at the Rixos Premium Hotel, Belek in Turkey.
We have stayed at many 5* hotels over the years and we can confirm that this hotel is up there with the best. The hotel complex is huge and offers something for everyone (check out their website for details). We found the quality of everything on offer and the standard of service to be excellent.
The only real criticism we can make is the availability of tables at the a la carte restaurants. Rixos and UK travel agents promote this hotel as having 8 a la carte restaurants and 1 large buffet style restaurant. When you arrive at the hotel you are greeted by a Rixos representative who confirms this and informs you that tables at the a la carte restaurants must be booked using your room card key on the reservation system which is located just down the corridor from reception. Up to this point there has been no indication that access to the a la carte restaurants may be restricted. We arrived at about 4 o’ clock in the afternoon and tried to book a table shortly after arrival. The problem was all a la carte restaurants were full on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. We found out later in the week that although the hotel can accommodate about 1300 guests, the total seating capacity in all the a la carte restaurants is only 400. Guests that cannot make an a la carte reservation must make do with the Mosaic Buffet restaurant which can handle about 1000. The Mosaic Buffet is not a bad place to eat and as buffets go it is one of the best we have been in (the quality of food is good and the choice is exceptional) but the a la carte eating at the Rixos is something special and we suspect that, for many people this is one of the main reasons for booking this hotel. We managed to eat a la carte on 5 nights but only through the intervention of Ms Tuba Yolcu the hotel Guest Relations Manager. We had no option but to eat in the Mosaic Buffet on the other 2 nights.
If some of the negative feedback posted has created any doubts for you, we suggest you ignore it and give this hotel a try. However, if you like a la carte eating we would suggest emailing the hotel before arrival to try and pre book tables for the duration of your stay.

Room Tip: Email Guest Relations for preferences

We have just arrived home after 2 weeks of pure luxury. This was our second visit to this superb hotel. The staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you. Sitting round the pool the waiters continued to provide constant drinks and even offers to clean your spectacles for you. The food is amazing, so much to choose from, just spoilt for choice. Rooms are excellent and kept very clean. Entertainment more than enough for all ages to choose from. The only down side the complex is so large and if like myself slightly less mobile it could be a challenge at times, but the facilities and service more than make up for this. Thank you Rixos we will be hopefully be back.

Room Tip: If less mobile the block 2 nearer the food halls
