“what a holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2012

fantastic!!!! best holiday ever!!! cant tell you how much weight we put on, three main meals all buffet style and afternoon snacks and midnight feast oh and free ice cream and alcohol!!! massive beautiful rooms exceptionally clean, every amenity you could ever need. Fantastic staff, great entertainment. Downside was just before we got there they had a freak winter hurricane so practically the whole of belek beach had been dumped in the swimming pool but thats mother nature for you and not very many english speaking people which i know is not what you go abroad for but i dont speak turkish or german! so lots of hand signals but we got there in the end. very interesting taxi ride from the airport to hotel would definately recomend transfers, would definately return

Room Tip: all rooms were fantastic and probably should be called suite's as they are huge

Overall the experience @ Kaya Belek is positive, the F&B team is very professional and also the housekeeping, they do a nice work around the clock.
2 MAJOR problems affected our Holiday:
INTERNET CONNECTION: We stayed there for more than 2 weeks and was impossible to connect from the room or the lobby or other location. the bandwidth is just sufficient for 2-3 users. the hotel has young tennis players for 2 months during the year and it is impossible for them and for the hotel guest to have a good internet connection. I do understand that is inclusive and there are not additional charge. I do prefer to pay 1 extra Euro per day and get a speed internet. I do believe all the guest of the hotel could share my proposal.
Contact your provided and sign for more bandwidth. Another suggestion. Your router should lock out every connection with YOUTUBE or other fileshare server.

BADGE KEY:
The room are locked with a prehistoric badge magnetic key. During our stay we was forced to change the key at least 3 times per day because was not working. 3 times per 15 days = 45 .
Small details are more important that huge building and swimming pools.

We stayed for 2 weeks A/L at begining of November. The hotel is a bit out of the way so you can feel abit isolated. The beach is nice but as lots of cigarette ends and bits of litter dumped by lazy people. The guys that clean the wooden path way try to keep it clean and are always brushing and emptying the litter bins. The loungers are not very comfy and some of the matresses are a bit worn and thin.
THE food place at the beach although does nice food there is a problem with birds getting on to the serving spoons, the chefs put up cling film to try to fool them but some people push it down DOH! it is there for a reason.
The Pool it was quite big but unfortunatly not heated and too cold to get into in November
That said the indoor pool though small was lovely and warm but this made it very popular and crowded.
The hotel is really clean and all of the staff are very friendly and always smiling with a pleasant hello as you pass. There were not a lot of English people at the time we were there but we were still included by the animation team ,which seemed to be changing staff every few days.
If you have any problems see Mr Ridar he is around afew times a day jots down any probs in his little book and it is dealt with very quickly . Thanks for finding our bag which hubby had left at spa reception. Boy did that disappear quick!
Had a wonderfull massage at the spa but it was a bit on the pricey side compared to the U.K. but worth it
The rooms are comfy and cleaned to good standard everyday.
The food in the main restaurant is very varied , lots of choice and of good quality the only moan is that it could have been warmer when left under the lights it did not retain its heat which spoilt it . The waiters very very attentive especially OSCAR. The only waiter I found offensive was Ismail as he said he could smell the people from the U.K I dont know what he meant by that but I did tell him I found that comment rude!!
The barstaff , a special mention to Ramazan(lobby bar) who by the way has a lovely singing voice and to Hakan the bottle jugglar(Irish bar) who kept us smiling
The only other moan is I dont know why it is called the Irish BAR they have no music what so ever and a tartan carpet!! We made our own entertainment in here as it was abit like waiting for god , a little music even background some Irish songs etc would have been good
The animation team (managed by a Peter Andre ) lookalike are lovely and the shows were passable some of the outside artists were very good indeed
The other disturbance to our holiday was the arrival of about 40 school kids from about 13 upwards who came to participate in a tennis tournament , they did not seem to be very well supervised and were abit rowdy when left to their own devices for most of the afternoon and evening.
The Asian Restaurant was superb and wished I could have visted more than once in my stay
Would I go back: Yes it is a very friendly place and I felt really at home here

Room Tip: Pool view also have sea view and seem to have the most sun

First went to the Kaya 9 years ago for husbands birthday had a great time. This year November 8th went back again and found it even better. Rooms clean and spacious and all had bath robes and slippers. All the staff are very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. There are tea coffee and chocolate machines throughout the reception and lounge areas, and wine barrels to help yourself. Unlike most all inclusive hotels you can be waited on for drinks, nothing is too much trouble. Husbands birthday day arrived and as we went in to dinner we were escorted to a "Birthday" table. after our main meal the waiters came with a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday and all the guests clapped and cheered. The food is fantastic and plenty of it, and the managers are always asking if everything is alright. The spa is really good, and the gym has a trainer to help you. There is an indoor pool as towards the end of the season the outdoor pool is a bit on the cold side. Rida is a lovely man whos' soul job is to ensure you have a good holiday, he has a desk near reception and will listen to you and sort any problems you may have out. Our rep Sue is a wonderful lady very kind and careing she has lived in Turkey for 22 years so can tell you all you need to know about the country. The golf course is right next door and there are plenty of tennis courts within the grounds. The entertainment team are a great bunch of guys, made our stay enjoyable. We will be going back again to this wonderful hotel, thank you Kaya staff we had a happy happy holiday.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, but if you're not happy with the one you all given; see Rida and he will try...

We visited the Kaya Belek for two weeks from the 25th Oct, we were a party of 6 for one week and then 7 for the second week. One of our party is disabled and I would like to say that Thomson were fantastic with the flights. We arrived at Riu Kaya Belek at about Midnight, where we were quickly checked in and shown to our rooms, which were on the large size with a nice bathroom and a fully stocked fridge. We made use of the night buffet and had a couple of drinks before we said goodnight. The next day we went down to breakfast and was greeted with a handshake by Mustafa the restaurant Manager, he was there most meals and was always making sure you were happy with everything. We decided to see what the hotel had to offer after breakfast. The one thing you will notice when you walk around is that it is very clean everywhere, even the toilets are spotless. The hotel has a great indoor complex including pool and sauna and spa treatments, shops, hairdressers where the men can have a Turkish shave for a couple of lira. The outdoor pool is huge but very cold, only a handfull of people used it while we were there, The beach is very clean with a good number of beds and parasols if you wanted shade. You had no problem getting one of the beds, even at lunchtime. On our travels we bumped into the main man Rida, who introduced us to the hotel manager, who again was keen to make sure we were happy with everything. During our fortnight there we saw Rida every day he worked and nothing was too much trouble for him, if you had a problem Rida would sort it. He is a credit to the hotel. He did try to get our flights delayed and offered to put us up in the tent. Unfortunately our flight was on time (shame). The food in all of the restaurants was great, good choice of dishes and cakes to die for. We spent most of our nights in the lobby bar, which is where the entertainment was held. We were greeted by Ramazan the waiter, our glasses were never empty, he had a great sense of humour and really made our holiday. I must say that all of the staff in the hotel were fantastic, from reception to the chefs, they would always speak to you. I have to mention Afto, who was one of the entertainment team. He would always make your day even better with his banter and his singing of I LOVE YOU BABY. The Thomson rep was fine, however more information on the trips would have been better. We all felt that this hotel is 5 star, the hotel has a lot to offer and you are treated very very well with excellent service and great food, for 24 hours every day. We also felt that Rida is worth his weight in gold when it comes to making sure you are happy.
We would not hesitate going back to this hotel.

Room Tip: A sea view room facing west is ideal as you get the sun in the afternoon

My partner and I (in our early 50s) arrived late September (23) and were immediately impressed with the hotel, the size, cleanliness, staff, layout. The room was large with a nice balcony overlooking the sea. 2 beds anda fridge. We went with Thomsons Holidays and had no complaints with the rep. She was really helpful. We had no problems with the room or anything else, other than the 2 pools were freezing cold. No one was hardly in them. The hotel was largely made up Europeans and Russians. Only I think 25 rooms were for English people. I think there were 400 rooms. The Russians were a bit pushy at the line up for the buffet. It doesnt matter to me because I can be as bad it I have to. I won't tolerate rudeness. Apart from that, it was easy getting a sun bed round the pool as the pool was too cold - as I have said.

Ryda the main man was really good at his job looking after everyone. The breakfast was ok but too many people rushing around, surprised there was not an accident. There was not enough staff to clear the tables quickly although they tried hard and were lovely people. The food was average - you would not starve but it became boring and I am picky. No illness at all - too clean for that! At 4p.m. there were donuts in the beach restaurant and waffles. Lovely but fattening! The beach was wide and clean and the sea was surprisingly warmish. At least you could go in there for a swim. The sun lounges were comfortable and the hotel provided towels so that was handy.

The drinks were great and even the wine palatable. Evening meal was ok and something for everyone. Entertainment was poor. Not enough variety. Could do with more music in the lounges. The other al a carte restaurants were ok too. Nicer really, Asian was the best.

Not many good trips to go on but the ones we did were o.k. Went to Side by Thomson o.k. Long day but good. Went to Atlanya on our own - cheaper. Worth going to and so to Belek on our own. Markets were good. Shops in Side very expensive. All fake gear but very expensive. Cheaper in Wembley Market! Loads of handbags, watches etc. I wanted a Chanel watch in the hotel it was nearly £300. Not paying that for a fake! Everything in that hotel overpriced - don't pay it. Especially the papershop where the shop girl was selling SECONDHAND books for more than they were originally in England, cheek. I think she must have got them from the swap book place and re-sold them. I reported her to the rep.

They had horse riding along the beach which I don't think is a good idea when all the tourists are sunbathing. I know that some horses can go a bit mental and I would hate to be in the way when they have inexperienced riders on them. Thiis should be done early morning or evening.

Nice hotel, relaxing no ag. Enjoyed it. NIce staff and pleasant. I think the hotel was a bit remote but thats a complex for you. At least you could get a bus outside the hotel into the next town. Pool area good for children as they had slides but not open all the time. There were mainly couples here, only a few families. End of season I suppose. Will go somewhere else next year as I like variety.
