Cannot fault this hotel - food and drink was fantastic and having visited Egypt last year when it was not we really appreciated the quality and choice. The staff are friendly and efficient. The animation team work non stop and are not pushy - our 5 teenagers became friends with all of them and had a great time.
The maids are thorough, the entertainment is superb and the pools and flumes are clean.
I would come here more often if I could and this was our 3rd visit. Nothing was too much trouble and the manager is always about watching and making sure that the staff keep everything ticking over all the time. You never see a dirty plate or glass lying about. Fresh pool towels whenever you want them.
I give this holiday 5 stars.

Room Tip: Chose the bungalows in blocks 25,26, 27 or 28 - all been upgraded and central to the pool etc

I just cannot fault the hotel. We arrived (party of 6 ages 58 to 22) June 2nd 2012.Booking in was a pleasure. Awaiting was a buggy to take us and our luggage to our rooms. The Porter carried our baggs up the 2 flights of stairs. The hotel grounds are made up of a number of blocks spread around the complex,in one of the best landscaped grounds I have seen. We were in block 13 and it was a 10 minute stroll to the main building and swimming pool. There are enough beds around the pool and ample on the beach. The food is amazing and a great variety. There is a pool bar and beach bar, both serving lunch. Breakfast is a casual 7.30-10am, late breakfast 10-11am, lunch 12-3pm, evening meal 7.30-9.30pm, late eating 11-12pm. The etertainment was great and very professional. One day we had a Belly Dancer in the afternoon with grilled food. After the evening etertainment we then had beach parties and yes more food. The public areas were spotless, as soon as something was droped on the floor someone was there to clean up. The room was extremly clean and well presented. Every one likes different firmness of beds and I'm quite fussy, but it was comfortable. We kept the air con on with the balcony doors opened while a sleep with the sliding net door drawn to stop any mossie. There was not that many for time of year, I did not get bite once. The temperature got up to 32c with a nice beeze off the beach. The staff were very polite and very professional. I would recommend this hotel as you can see. I'm glad we only stayed 7 days or else I would have put on another 7 lbs.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here the end of April. First I'm going to start with the good points.

The hotel is really nicely kept, the gardens are amazing, the resort is spotless. The food is amazing! Some of the food might look a bit odd as it is probably aimed at eastern European but it is all really tasty and there is so much choice! I mean ive been to america and thought that the choice over there was good but not compared to this! I really cant comment on how much variety there was but let me just say we never went hungry! This hotel is an all inclusive hotel and you could spend no money. I spent nothing the whole 11 days we were there. The drinks are all free and not cheap knock off drinks either, menu had about 20 cocktails on, you can get drink all day and till about 2am if you go to the club etc... The location next to the sea was fantastic, nothing like having your breakfast in the morning looking out to sea from the restaurant balcony! We ate outside everyday as it was so nice! The waiters are really good, you sit down and within about 30 seconds someone is asking you for a drink and you constantly get top ups. All the staff were really good and never really struggled with the language barrier. Rooms were very modern looking and better than I expected. Beach was kept really nice!

Now all these are really minor points and didn't ruin our holiday in any way but It wouldn't be a proper review if I didn't mention! Firstly our air conditioning didn't work, it was set on some sort of locked mode blowing out hot air, this was after 2 days of us being there, it worked before, maybe the cleaner did it, not sure?! The room wasn't that hot anyway so we were not that bothered but maybe should have reported it. The mattress was quite hard. Wasn't that impressed with location, on the beach was obviously nice but the area around the hotel was run down looking. There were photographers blocking our path to breakfast and dinner everyday pestering for our photo! (felt like they were paparazzi! We had our own camera and really didn't want to have to say 'no' everyday, in the end we had to divert around them for a meal, not very continent but never mind. Lastly the entertainment was awful, the music was very out of date and the night shows were embarrassing! Also one of the animation staff was quite rude to my girlfriend just because she didn't want to play the towel wetting game at midday, we said no thank you politely but when we went for dinner she ignored us when we said hello and muttered something to another entertainment member, we kept getting funny looks from her the rest of the time.

Apart from like the 4 points above we had a really nice time, the hotel is probably the best one I've ever stayed in as far as the food and how nice it looked. I would recommend it if your going to Turkey.

we stayed at the papillon belvil at the end of april 2011 and we couldn't have been happier with what we received.
the grounds are immacuately kept with lots of trees, plants and fountains. the room we stayed in was down a path which went from the pool past the tennis courts, it was very quiet at night whilst still being close enough to the restraunts, pool and bars. the room was clean and a good size, especially as we were only there for an hour or so a day and to sleep. the room also had a balcony which was really nice for when we came back after being at the pool bar at night.

the food was really nice especially seeing as my partner and i are such fussy eaters. although the food felt abit samey as it was a buffet but it was all really nice every night and there was a man outside who cooked different meats and fish fresh for you. the main resteraunt itself was reallly nice and spacious with pleanty of tables. it has an indoor area which is kept cool and an outdoor patio which has music playing at night. the main resteraunt is also open until late at night which is great if you get a bit peckish after drinking :) there is also a mini buffet at lunch at the pool side bar which includes burgers and chips and ice cream (although it says its for the kids they dont mind if us adults go up and get some lol) if you stay here make sure you go and see the pancake woman who makes fresh pancakes with sugar, and also see the man who makes pizzas with any topping you want - all of this is included in the all inclusive aswell. the hotel also has several al a carte resteraunts although we didnt get to try these as they were not open as we went out of season.

the beach is at the other side of the pool and is very clean, although the only small issue is the pebbles between the sea and the beach which can get a bit painful but its only for a second so its not too bad. it definately won't ruin your visit to the beach.

every night there is some sort of entertainment on at the ampitheater. the night starts with soemthing for the kids where they all get on stage and have a dance, they even get the adults up to do the club song and dance which is a laugh. one night whilst we were there there was a group of acrobats who were running up and doing backflips of a single pole in the middle of the stage - very impressive. theres even kareoke in the pool bar after the show.

the staff are amazing and you cannot fault them. they were so helpful and really helped make the trip what it was, the manager even came and had a chat and a picture with us towards the end of the trip. the pool bar staff a really good, having a chat and a laugh with you, they even made us cocktails (make sure you try the belvil special and pink lady) althought there was one rude waiter who made no effort at all but we just tended to avoid him and ask other members of staff.

don't listen to any bad reviews you read on here about papillon belvil as we'd read them before we went but all our worries were put at ease straight away :)

On the whole, we found the Papillon to be a lovely resort. My partner and I arrived in late March for a two week stay but, with hindsight, waiting until mid April would have been a better/warmer arrival time. One of the two pools wasn’t opened and gardening work/planting wasn’t fully completed either. But still, we were impressed with the surroundings - lovely dappled shade from tall pines, friendly cats, dawdling turtles and all pathways led down to the swimming pools which over-looked the beautiful Mediterranean. All rooms have balconies where you could sit outside with a drink and/or dry your swimsuits from. Our first bed was very comfortable but because we had noisy neighbours we were moved (very quickly and without fuss) but unfortunately, the second bed was not as nice. Also, our mini bar fridge did not work in our first room - so, even though it was restocked every day with free drinks - they were still warm. We had a perfectly working fridge in the new room. The bathrooms are small but efficient but the bathtubs, which you have to walk into for a shower, are very high. This could be a problem for children, people with mobility problems or the elderly. And finally, take the local buses which you will find at the end of the road to the hotel - and avoid the extortionate taxi prices!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the end - less chance of having noisy neighbours! If you have mobility problems, a...

Having been to very modern 5 star hotels in Lara Beach and Side previously in the heat of August, we didn't really know what to expect at the beginning of April, and having arrived very tired after midnight to the hotel you can't help notice probably the one issue this hotel has is the styling of the main hotel which is very eighties and underwhelming.

However we were efficeintly taken to our room which was very good and immaculately clean and got some sleep ( cleaned daily and fresh towels). Having woken to blue skies which remained for the next 6 days you see the benefit of this hotel being well established in the gardens, which are beautiful and are a real asset to the efforts of the gardeners at the hotel.

The food was very good, with pizza corner being very popular as they made fresh pizza's daily although the food could have been a little warmers especially if they left the cowls over the food instead of leaving them open which happens at other hotels. However the choice and quality was very good and I seemed to enjoy the food more as the week went on.

The hotel was obviously not full and to be honest this was a real positive given our August holidays as you could get served at the bar, get a sun lounger or get use of sports facilities at any time. The temperature was on average around 23C which allowed you to lie in the sun or do anything you like ,again unlike the 40+ temperatures in summer when it can be oppressive.

The outdoor pool was cold, but the indoor pool was excellent for the children and the entertainment team worked really hard trying to keep the events going through the day and night to keep us interested.

Day trips were available, but if you want a few hours out you can catch the tourist bus into town for 1 Euro to do a bit of haggling for ' genuine ' designer goods.

Overall the whole experience was excellent value for money and thoughout the week I really warmed to the hotel and its staff, as it came alive, However its always going to be difficult to give it five stars compared to its brasher glitzy ultra modern counterparts in Lara Beach.
