I've been reading the other reviews with interest both before and after our trip to the papillon belvil.
On the whole I would rate this highly but I'll get the bad bits out of the way before I mention the good bits.
We travelled as a family of 4 with children of 3yrs and 21 months. We arrived at 4pm local time expecting our room to be ready which it was not and had to wait a further hour with very tired children before it was. If you read a few reviews back there is a review saying the initial room was like a cell. Well we also got allocated one of those rooms and believe me they are horrid. They are also located as far as you can get form the complex centre down a 1:4 gradient slope against the barbed wire fence joining the adjacent hotel.
Unfortunaltey we were not moved to a nice bungalow in the gardens. We were moved twice in 2 days but both to inferioir rooms in that same terrible location and without a bath for the children. Once again we knew of at least 3 other couples who had all been given rooms in that location and did get moved (one to a family room which we were furious about as they came in on our flight and complained after us). I could go on but I've just written a long letter of complaint to Cosmos so I'm a bit sick of it now.
Be assured that everyone we knew who was accommodated in a bungalow or hotel room were happy, so as long as you don't get allocated rooms 3935 or above you should be OK.

Right with that over I can say that everything else was wonderful. We've stayed at a lot of All inclusives and this is defintely a good one. The staff (apart from reception) are very friendly and they understood English well (apart from recption staff again). The evening entertainment was the best we've seen anywhere with lots of dance performances which the staff take really seriously and practice daily for.
The food was good. Food was available all day. Breakfast 0700 to 1000. Late breakfast from 1000 to 1100. pancakes and cakes form 1100 to 1600. Lunch form 1200 to 1500. Ice cream from 1400 to 1500. Donuts from 1600 to 1800. You get my drift. The buffet caters a bit more for the other nations and is a bit of a free-for-all but the A La carte's and pool and beach bars made a welcome change. The bars had a lot of variety with cocktails available as well as the usual spirits and also a baileys substitute.
The beach is brilliant with lots of sun beds and fixed shades and a boadwalk so you don't have to walk on the hot sand (note to parents - also very useful for getting small children off to sleep in a buggy).
We always saw free sunbeds around the pool and beach areas and towels were always available even if you had to wait for the afternoon delivery.
The gardens are pretty - not the best we've seen but pleasant enough.

I would go back but I would pay the extra for a main building room as these are more suitbale for a family of 4. Be warned the bungalows will be cramped if you're a family but if you have older children you'll hardly be there anyway. We did also hear of quite a few people with stomach upsets but we were all fine so my advice would be not to over-indulge too much at the beginning.

My family have just returned from a weeks stay at the all inclusive Papillon Belvil.

The hotel is spotless and the staff very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. My children (9 and 6) loved the pool and waterslides and it was great being so close to the beach.

We all loved the all-inclusive idea and initially we weren't disappointed.

Our first impressions were that we were in heaven but things changed after day 3 when my husband came down with horrendous food poisioning and this continued for the remainder of our week. Myself and my daughters were also unwell with dodgy stomachs and we were then reluctant to eat much.

There is so much choice of food and it is spotless there but the food is put out when dining starts and although replenished, some dishes stay out for a while and we became unsure of what to eat.

Unfortunately this ruined our holiday and we were glad to get home. It is such a shame as this hotel is perfect in every way and maybe we were just unlucky, but we won't be doing all inclusive again,as there is no where else to eat and when you have had food poisioning you don't want to go back to the restaurant.

There was lots of entertainment available if you wanted it and sunbeds were plentiful. The english are certainly out numbered by the Russians,but on the whole they are OK.

I would also recommend if you go out of the hotel, like I did with Cosmos for a Turkish Bath and massage, go along with others because although it was enjoyable I felt very vulnerable and not sure what to expect. Had we not been ill then the rating would be much higher. Maybe not a 5* hotel but very close.

A lovely hotel but sadly we would not go back.

We have just returned from our first ever all inclusive holiday. We chose the Pappillon Belvil because of its fantastic facilities and great reviews, and it did not disapoint at all...

We were impressed by the size of the room, and the view from the balcony was lovely. The daily maid service was great, extremely polite and helpful and left us towels displayed as swans decorated with flowers, a lovely touch - our son thought this was amazing.

We were warned by our Rep that the Staff spoke a number of languages and in many cases English was their Third if not their fourth language. We found this a wonderful experience for us to communicate in other polite ways - it is not our right to expect the rest of the world to speak English.

The animation team was excellent - every evening a different and entertaining show, enjoyed by ouselves and our 8 year old son.
The food was superb, a wonderful selection every evening and theme nights at least three nights of the week. The food was so superb with such choice that it did not seem important to have any meals in the a la carte restaurants - which we could have.
Maybe if these restaurants had outdoor dining we may have been more inclined. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly, and would bring our drinks to our table, before we had even ordered them - well we did always have the same - but a lovely touch and really thoughful.

The swimming pools were lovely and our son enjoyed the slides and dragged us on them far more than we would normally. The beach bars and food were great and meant that we did not need to go indoors to eat at lunch time, we could then have freshly cooked doughnuts at 4pm -delicious.....

drinks were always available and we never had a problem getting them. cocktails were sometimes a surprise - but hey that was part of the fun.

The beach was very clean and the sea beautiful - unfortunately the sand is a little pebbly in places - but you need flip flops because the sands so hot anyway so that didn't matter at all.

There was so much to do we didn't manage to join in any of the activities provided, so much to do, so little time, we didn't want to return home.

We have just returned from this hotel in Turkey.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel it is terrific.
We had a shaky start. we arrived in the early hours of the morning and were given a dreadful place, not a bungalow or apartment, it was just like a cell, no balcony just a very small window. It appeared to be close to some sort of a farmyard with chickens and goats.
We found out that most of the English guests had also had this experience but we were moved on request very quickly to a lovely room in pleasant gardens early next morning.
This over and done with we were highly delighted with the facilities of the hotel.
Lovely large swimming pools, beautiful gardens and a lovely beach.
Loads of sunbeds around the pools and on the beach.
The food was fantastic, I have never in 25 years of foreign holidays ever seen such a variety of dishes.
Great pool bars with lunchtime grills, salads etc.,
Speciality restaurants which you can eat at for no extra charge were great.
The only hiccup is, do not expect to get a English breakfast!!
Eggs, beans and some sort of inedible sausages but no bacon.
Plenty of other stuff, eggs in any way you want them.
All sorts of drinks all day, soft drink machines all around the pool area.
The entertainment was second to none, great team of entertainers, everyone so friendly.
Not a lot of English people, lots of Russians and Germans but most were friendly, no hassle anywhere.
We did not spend any money at all in the resort, there did not seem to be any "tills" anywhere apart from the few shops.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to families, they brilliant with the children.
We would certainly go back again.

I have just returned from the Belvil which We had picked on the number of facilities it had, and the excellent reviews from Trip Advisor. I am now wondering if I stayed at the same hotel as my experience, which was the same as the other English speaking guests staying there was of a very poor service.
The Staff were amongst the unfriendliest that we have come across and the biggest shock was that a large number were not from Turkey at all, but every other country in Europe.
This was the first clue of cost cutting at this hotel and no one except the Guest relations manager could speak reasonable English. We often received an ashtray instead of a drink.
The biggest issue was that they were not interested in Customers at all. The food was being cleared up at 9.30 in the morning and 8.30 in the evening. Surely this is a bit early ?
It was all selfservice - Cuttlery,Juices, Hot Drinks etc
Although the choice of facilities and restaurants was the best I have seen, everything was on time limits - Archery, Waterslides
etc. The toilet lights would even go off when you were in there.
The hotel was run by an Accountant, and we were even given dirty wet towels from as they had run out of clean ones at the pool area.
I would not advise anyone to stay here who values Customer Service.

This was not a good holiday complex.
Although the quantity of facilities were good everything was on time limits. The staff were unfriendly and the Thomas cooks reps were no where to be seen.

From looking at other reviews we was really looking forward to going to a 5 star hotel, but was extremely disappointed.

The food was not 5 star quality, and didnt offer a very big range, also as most of it was served with no covers by the time you sat down your hot food was cold.

The staff spoke hardly any english and all seemed frightened to talk to you. If you want to go on a socialising holiday this is not the place to go as most of the people are german, french and russian.

Holiday reps were nowhere to be seen, and if you wanted to ask one of the staff about places to go outside the hotel they didnt know anything.

On a good note the rooms were very spacious although not alot of wardrobe space, and house keeping where good but didnt come at a set time in the day and would come from 8.00am to 3.00pm.

All in all if the hotel had more friendlier staff and better food it would of been a perfect holiday.

We would defiantly not go back again.
