“Great Hotel - Best ever stayed at”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2010

Just returned from Turkey with 2 children (11 and 9). What a fabulous hotel.
Checking in was very simple and the receptionist went over all what the hotel had to offer and answer any questions, which was very reassuring when you arrive in a strange country. The bellboy then escorted you to your room.
We were allocated a villa style room, which though was a little small for 4 persons, you only sleep there as so much going on around the hotel day and night. However, very clean and maid service everyday kept it that way. Air con was very much needed and the in room mini stocked fridges very appreciated. If on the ground floor though, watch your articles on balconies as they will get wet when the garden sprinklers go off at night.
Food is excellent - never seen so much food in our lives and what a selection to choose from, and of an excellent quality (not cheap tasting cuts of meat). The hotel also have A La carte restuarants which you only needed a five minute wait to book a table at. Food and service again excellent. There was so many places to eat and drink at this hotel, you could have eaten 24 hours constantly.
The daytime entertainment team was great fun and was always something going on all day from pool games, archery, etc. The childrens club seemed to be very popular during daytimes.
The evening entertainment was excellent with very high quality shows followed by aftershow parties (garden party, beach party etc). The beach parties were a great end to the day with fireworks, lasers, dance etc.
Location of hotels is this area are little out of the way, but right on the beach, so ideal if you want to soak up the sun and chillout. However, taxi to local town was only £7 return, but you need to haggle the taxi costs abit first.
Overview
Fabulous hotel which was spotless clean
Great helpful staff
Excellent food quality and service
Very Good value for money
Super daytime and evening entertainment

We already want to plan another trip back as best hotel ever stayed at. ignore the negative feedbacks left because we are fussy travellers and couldn't fault anything.

Oh, and nearly forgot fresh doughnuts at 4pm, straight out of the oil - yummy.

Highly recommend hotel.

We stopped end of July for 10 nights, two familes. Weather was good, Hot but i think it gets hotter in August!.
We stopped in a Bungalow. 2 adults 2 children.
The room was plenty big enough for us all one double one single and a made up sofachair. Mini bar gets refilled daily which is great with drinks.
Bathroom was fine for us, all very clean and tidy.
Beach towels included which can be changed daily.
Three swimming pools. One for infants. One Very large pool with waterfall where the daytime entertament happens.. You can join in if you wish, but they also leave you alone as well. The other pool has the slides on which all of us enjoyed, Just watch with the green slower slide as sometimes there is no lifeguard at the top so noone to stop them flying down.. as i was hit in the back by a large guy who went down to fast and didnt wait. There is always a lifeguard at the bottom.
There are two beach bars where u can get daytime food from and drinks... not waiting time at the bar!.. Food is very good we were all impressed with the selection and the quality of the food.
We didnt leave the complex, would have to get the bus to the nearby town.
Yes the russians were a bit of a pain at times, pushing in, as long as they get what they want arnt bothered if it affects anyone else.
We did have to pay extra to have a room later as our flight was a late flight, but between two familes it wasn that much.
Overall an excellant holiday would fully recommend to anyone

We stayed at this hotel with our 10yr and 8yr old daughters plus another family with children the same age. The rooms were large but a bit old fashioned. Had a look at one of the bungalows but these really would only accommodate 2 so not good for families. Mind you I'm sure they may have bigger ones but the standard ones were very small. Some of them are also a bit far away from the main hotel. Gardens are lovely and the beach is OK but Belek itself hasn't really got much to talk about. The markets are very expensive even if you barter. The food was very good generally with lots of choice and there was plenty of it throughout the day. The cocktails were very disappointing. They had a very weird system to book the a la carte restaurants which meant that you had to queue up from 9:45 on the day but during busy periods like the school hols this doesn't really work as they got full very quickly and then you would have queued up for nothing. This meant that a lot of customers got aggitated and then guest relations had to take their room numbers and book them in for the next night - making less availability still. Why they can't just do a telephone booking system I don't know. Also you had to order your main courses at the time of booking which was a bit of a pain. I can't fault the cleanliness of the hotel throughout and they changed the sheets every day which was nice. The Spa was good and you can use the Hammam/Sauna for no charge. I had a couple of treatments which were lovely but you need to check on the prices as they quote in Euros but you can't pay in Euros unless you have cash. This means they add on a conversion rate and it ends up being more expensive than you thought. The entertainment was fairly good and the kids enjoyed the beach party especially. They put a lot of effort into the fireworks which were nice.
Overall it was a good holiday but don't think I'd rush back. Having been to Turkey a number of times I think there are nicer places to go like Olu Deniz, Lara Beach and Dalyan not to mention Istanbul itself. It was good value for money though in comparison to Greece and other places in the EU.

Having read the other reviews there is little that I could add other than confirm that the choice and standard of food was excellent, the staff very friendly, the hotel was spotless. The entertainment staff work very hard and try to involve everyone in the numerous daily activities. I can make a comparison as I was over in Belek earlier in the year with a group of golfers and stopped in another excellent hotel that was ideal for that type of party. However the Papillon Belvil is better suited to families and I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family looking for a hassle free family holiday.

I cannot praise this Hotel enough. If you are torn between the positive and negative reviews, forget the later, for this Hotel exceeded all my expectations. Firstly, on arrival we were given a room that not only was unsatisfactory in its condition but also in its location. Not a problem to the Staff as we were promised and given new rooms the next day. The care and service of the staff was excellent from top to bottom.
The Food was unreal, Pizza's to order, Jacket Spuds, Chicken Rotisserie, and all this was lunchtimes at the Beach Bar and Pool Bar. The Five restaurants were great and the main restaurant was very good too. Yes you had to queue for 15 minutes to book the one you wanted but this was no hassle. The EFES was lovely especially from the frozen glasses hidden in one of the bars. I had two teenage sons that loved it here, they played Football every day for an hour and stayed out in the disco most nights.
Beds poolside were taken by 7:30 in most cases but beds on the Beach were plentiful and only yards away from the pool.
Entertainment was OK. The Brits were all friendly and we all had a laugh most evenings. The Beach Party was terrific, they get the Hose on you so don't wear your best bib and tucker on this night.
I could go on and on but believe me if you love good food, love chilling, either Poolside or on the beach go and enjoy.
This is the only Hotel that has made me think I one day I will return..

We returned a whole two stone heavier between a family of four and we skipped breakfast and only one of us drinks beer! Do not say you haven't been warned - the food is Amazing ....Very very good and anyone who can find fault with it will probably never find a hotel catering they like!

Rooms are Ok and large and clean and you get the added bonus of a mini bar filled every day with AI soft drinks. The evening non - animation entertainment is great
Pool is really lovely and the whole resort cleaner then any I have stayed in.
If you have booked your holiday - do not worry - you will love it.

Tips: Do not sit opposite the animation hut at the pool as you will be moved so the animation team can run in and out of the pool - very annoying!
The scuba diving team take people out to do a 3 m dive and leave them to do it and swim back - I kid you not ! Can't actually believe they have insurance.....

If you haven't booked yet here some things to consider
1. it is very very hot - 46 in the middle of the day
2. There is nothing to do in the area and the shopping is at best "poor"
3.The entertainment really lets the hotel down with lazy animation who used the same couples for the whole two weeks the best verb I can use is "talentless" although their river dance was memorable for the tight velvet suits on the men!
4. The OTB rep was a disaster - giving wrong info - coaches that didn't turn up after we got up a7am for a trip and generally awful
5. Scuba diving trips are run 2 hours away - so if its your bag then you will spend a lot of time on a coach or pay through the nose for non - padi scuba
6. When leaving - the hotel do not offer a courtesy room so you will be asked to pay a further 40E or shower in a communal shower and use public changing rooms- shocking for 5 star...

We were exhausted when we arrived and we had an excellent quiet holiday in a great hotel - Our kids enjoyed it although they tend to enjoy everything ....we came back full of energy but if I'm honest we wouldn't go back for the reasons above - the lack of courtesy room really annoyed us and spoilt otherwise great service.....

My family and I travelled to this hotel with my children ( aged 9 + 6 ) and had the most amazing holiday .
The hotel ,pool ,room, bars , beach and all restaurants are spotless , so many staff always cleaning and manager constantly going round checking .

I have travelled the world and have not stayed in a better family hotel . Yes there are some Russians who are rude and arrogant and push in , but in the end you stand your ground and do it back .
The food choice is unbelievable from breakfast to pancakes cooked everyday from 11 , to the delicious fresh pizzas cooked with your choice of toppings , beach restaurant fresh roasted chicken every day , doughnuts at 4 , then if you have enough room 5 restaurants to choose from at night ! .
My children loved the water park , archery , shooting , scuba diving . The mini club disco every night was not too be missed for the kids . So hot in July , was 40 in the day and just dropped to 29 at night , so very hot to sit out at the ampitheatre and watch the shows.
Watersports on the beach was very expensive but arent they always .

Met so many people who return year after year and Im sure im now one of them , cant wait to go back .
