“Highly recommend this hotel!”
Reviewed 24 March 2013

We went for a week to Turkey in mid-March having never been before, booking about 12 days before departure. Looking online at the weather before leaving we were disappointed to see that the weather website was showing that every day would have some rain which was not good as we were looking to get some sun after the endless British Winter we are having. When we got there we were greeted by temperatures of around 20 degrees which was glorious and the temperature did not really get worse, with no sign of the rain we were forecast.

The hotel itself was immaculate and very impressive. It seems that everything had been thought of and if you wanted to, you could just spend the entire stay inside the hotel. As we went out of season, there were only two of the a la carte restaurants open. They were very nice and the Italian was a tremendous amount of food, six courses in all and they weren't very small portions either, so if you go there do not pig out beforehand as you will never finish it all. The buffet restaurants which are open the majority of the time was very good quality with a good selection of food, enough for even the fussiest of eaters to find something they like. With that, the 24 hour bistro, the fresh cake patisserie, the beach bars with food, the burger stall outside, the freezer of assorted ice-creams like magums and cornetto's, the bars which are all branded drinks and are very generous with the alcohol, you will never go hungry or have to make do with something you don't like. This being my first all inclusive I found it very nice to not have to worry about anything.

The hotel has lots of things to do, so if you aren't there for the numerous golf courses in the area or just lounging on the beach the entire time, there are somes shops to buy gifts, acitivities put on by the animation team, disco's, the sunset jazz bar with live music, the jupiter ball room where they have things like comedy shows, a spa and indoor swimming pool, a childrens funfair and water park, mini golf, 20 minute walk to Belek centre where there are handmade gifts that can be bought from market stalls, souvenir shops, numerous golf shops and designer brand shops. Then first choice offer a range of trips so that you can see more of Turkey other than the hotel complex itself. We went to Antalya, the Turkish Bath and Kokova and Myra. Each one was very nice to visit and the cost of them was extremely good value for money. A very good opportunity to get lots of photo's.

The hotel room we got was a double room with a sea view and we were very impressed with it. It was spacious, clean, had a good selection of drinks in the fridge as well as some nibbles, tv's were in the lounge area and the bedroom if you require them, with 2 bathrooms and a jacuzzi. The view from the very large balcony was lovely with the beach just below and the mountain range visible all the way around.

We were very impressed with the hotel and staff and will definitely go back to this hotel. If anything, a week was not enough to see everything and get all the relaxing required done.

We have just returned from our break last week from the Voyage and can say that the hotel is amazing.

Rooms are large, clean and very comfortable.
Lots of food to choose from, especially when it is in season. We went out of season and so only had 2 al a carte meals but the buffet restaurants are excellent as well as a 24hour bistro, and countless food counters for cakes, ice creams and burgers etc.

The hotel is very large with lots of entertainment available for all ages, from disco's, late bars, comedy shows as well as live music.

The hotel is about a 20minute walk to Belek where you can find local shops with the usual souveniers and shops with designer wear if thats what your looking for.

If you go with Thomson/First choice then we would recommend the Turkish Bath with the tour guide instead of the hotel's own spa as it is very expensive and also they were very cheap for a trip to Antalya.

Overall this holiday was faultless and we will be returning one day.

Room Tip: We went for a Double room with sea view which places you in the main part of the complex. New rooms...

I will review each aspect separately so you will need to click on "read more" etc. and scroll down.

HOTEL GENERAL ASPECT:
The approach to Belek from Antalya is not the most inspiring landscape with many miles of barren fields and small shanty towns along the way. On approach to the hotel itself, the scene improves well. The front of hotel is actually a separate reception block where you will check in. We found the reception staff not as helpful as we would have expected and we were given our keys and that was that. Not much information is given, only a small booklet - on your way to your room. Fortunately a member of staff saw us dragging our cases and offered to take us to our bungalow room in a golf buggy.

ROOMS:
For the first week we had a bungalow room, which contains a double bed, a single bed, a chaisse long, tv (complete with the lamentable BBC World News that avoids telling you anything about the UK - would you?), phone, minibar filled once a day and contains 2 cans of Efes, 2 bottles still water, 2 small bottles sparkling water, a few cans of soft drinks, a Kitkat style bar and some peanuts - don't expect spirit miniatures. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower.
During our first week the hotel decided to turn the room next door into a building site, starting work at well before 08:00. We complained to receptionn and we were upgraded to the main building (not that our 1st Choice rep bothered to contact us). The reception staff were VERY GOOD about this and more than helpful. So on to the main building... this room is basically the same as the bungalow but has tea/coffee making facilities and a bath with shower. The bath though has a very wide shower screen which makes it almost impossible to switch on the bath taps if you want to take a bath. Coincidence? I think not. Anyway the room had a very nice view of the pool and sea front.

FOOD:
There are two main restaurants for general use and they serve a very large selection of food. Everything from salad, to low calorie, to as much meat as you can shake a stick at, chips for the masses, vegetarian, lots of desserts and so on. Something for everyone even really finicky eaters. The food is presented like a work of art and if you go in say at 12:30 for lunch when it opens, take your camera. The food is very well cooked and the staff take samples to make sure everything is ok and that it is not on show for too long until it is refreshed.
There are also 3 a la carte restaurants in the winter season, Voyagelli Italian (free), Chinese (free) and Tepanyaki Japanese (small charge). You are allowed to book so many nights per week.
You can also get Gozleme (pancakes) at the beach bar and pizza etc. at the adult pool bar until 16:00.
At night there is the snack bar (located in the Chinese/Japanese restaurant) which operates from 22:30 tom 06:30. There you can get toasted sandwiches, burgers, soup (mint yoghurt one is superb), chicken and chips, fish and chips, chocolate brownies etc. oh and beer, wines and spirits all night!! The staff and chef in there are a great laugh - always ready to serve you whatever you want.

BARS:
In the day we would go to the beach bar where Kerim was serving. He is a fantastic chap who will look after you very well. Always he wants to know things about English language and so on. The staff are being given lessons as mainly the staff speak more German. Thank-you Kerim for making our holiday special.
At night we would go to the Jazz Bar which was ok but the entertainment did not start until 21:30 which was way too late in our opinion. One night (Saturday) we were left sat there until 22:30. That is not acceptable. The excuse? Bingo in the lobby... ok then... Another thing that annoys is that in the winter, the entertainment program is 1 week, and so if you stay 2 weeks you will see the same bands over and over and they do the same songs in the same order every time. I think this needs looking at and improving.
One other thing I was not impressed with was one occasion in the -1 lobby bar was when it appeared we were given recycled beer. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

SHOPS:
There are a range of shops selling leather goods, i.e. bags, jackets etc. Furs as well which we don't personally agree with. Souvenir shops, jewelry and a mini market. Note if you make the BIG ,istake of thinking you will get your toiletries at the mini market, think again unless you want to pay £5 for toothpatste etc. The attitude of the shop owner was like it or lump it. We went down to the shopping bazar but we still paid more than double the real price. Our advice is get your toiletries in the UK BEFORE you travel.

STAFF:
Cleaners worked very hard and this is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. See the little guy with the glasses who likes to dance a jig in the Jazz Bar - more entertaining than some of the shows!!
Good guys: Kerim (plus his srever at the beach bar), Mustafa, Recep, Hussein, Mehmet (excellent coctails at the adult pool bar), Nayri (and the lady with the white pinny and long dark hair). There is one other who did not want to ne mentioned on here but he kept us well fed and watered at night...
Generally, the staff are what make this hotel the great place it is. Keep it up!!

Room Tip: Make sure therev are no upgrade works near your room. If you get a problem, report it straight away.

I have recently returned, wit,h a group of 7 friends from our 5th golfing trip to Belek and a stay at the Voyage hotel. The golf courses in the area are numerous and outstanding . Having played in various countries I find those in Turkey as good as they come.
The Voyage hotel is excellent. The staff can not do enough for you and the food is of a remarkable quality for an all inclusive holiday. I would mention that we were originally booked into a garden property but were 'upgraded' to a hotel room. Although of a reasonable standard the garden properties have no baths only showers and as I am a bit older a bath is required after a game of golf.
All in all the trip was first class and I am already looking forward to next my February trip. I would have no difficulty in recommending both this first class hotel or the golf courses.

Room Tip: Book hotel room rather than garden property
