Just returned from a week at the Ela Quality Resort, we went with our children, boy 16, girl 19, on arrival (12pm Fri eve went to look around and resort very quiet, children had a moan saying " this is going to be awful" After two days of finding our feet kids where loving it !!!!!!
I must say after reading trip advisor I was quite apprehensive, but believe me, do not take any notice, staff are fab and really friendly, food was great, never too busy, and sunbeds where always available. The only downside is the very ignorant Russians....but het thats there problem, not mine!!!!! Evening entertainment was WOW!!!!! Just go and enjoy I am sure you will. Also spa amazing, make sure to use it.

Room Tip: Room spacious and very clean

Bit of background...... we went into the Travel Agent with a different destination in mind but unfortunately there was no availability. We produced a 'wish list' for the advisor and this is the holiday she came up with.
We wanted a 'Platinum' holiday, all inclusive, with the emphasis on varied activities and entertainment for my three daughters aged 15, 16 and 17, and lots of relaxation for my husband and me. It seemed that she had suggested an excellent hotel. We paid a deposit to secure the holiday and then returned home to check Trip Advisor.... Oh dear. We returned to the travel agent and expressed our concerns but we were reassured (how naive we were) that the tour operator would not be continuing to use the hotel if it was still as bad and certainly not as one of their Platinum range.
The negative reviews regarding other hotel guests are absolutely true. They are largely Russian, with some German and Eastern European. We were one of about six British families. I have never, in my life, experienced such ignorant, rude and boorish behaviour. Meal times are akin to feeding time at the zoo. They are greedy, have absolutely no table manners, are unbelievably wasteful and have no consideration for others.
Here are just some of the points I would like to share with you....
We were never able to get a sunbed around the pool before around 5.00pm because they place their belongings on them at the crack of dawn.
They pushed my daughters out of the way on the water slides - queuing is an alien concept to them. My husband had to go to the top with the girls in order to ensure that they actually got a turn!
The girls were unable to participate in any of the 'teen' activities because they were ignored. The other 'children' made it perfectly clear that they were not welcome to join in. They were unable to dance at the 'pier parties' because they were barged off the dance floor. My girls are not wimps. They are confident, well adjusted and polite but they spent the whole of the holiday by our sides.
The restaurant - none of the previous reports is an exaggeration. Young children on push and ride toys hurtling around the dining area. Other older children running riot, even climbing across the back of your chairs whilst you try to eat. We left our table one evening to go to the buffet. On our return a very angry Russian gentleman (?!) was arguing loudly and very aggressively with the waiter because he wanted our table. The waiter, bless him, stood his ground and we sat to eat our meal The other guest then sat opposite and glared at us throughout our meal. Extremely intimidating.
I was punched by a young boy in the dining room because I was in his way, his parents did nothing. And so it went on....
They will not hold the lift door open if you approach - they will close it in your face.
If you are walking along the path, they will expect you to move. If you try to stand your ground they will walk into you.
They will push in at the bar.
They do not say please or thank you. The advantage to this is that we got very good, attentive service from the staff because we, as we always do, remembered our manners, thanking them in Turkish and remaining courteous at all times.
The hotel itself is good as is the location and we did spend a very relaxing time on the pier, enjoying the sea breezes in very hot temperatures.
The rooms are nice, if a little tired, but it is a very busy hotel and some wear and tear is inevitable. My daughters were upgraded to a suite which they thought was wonderful!!
The bar staff were very friendly and took great delight in producing a never ending supply of 'surprise' cocktails for us to try!
The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and immaculately kept with lots of winding paths and interesting features.
The entertainment is very poor. 'Live shows in the outdoor theatre' - a magic show??!! I don't expect 'West End' but we have had far better on previous holidays.
We have absolutely no problem with other nationalities or cultures - in fact we enjoy experiencing them but we would never want to share a hotel with them again...ever.
Please understand - I do not moan for the sake of it, I try to be fair and report our experiences truthfully. This was our experience so if you are thinking of spending a substantial amount of your hard earned money on this holiday - please, please reconsider.

We spent 3 days in the ELA QUALITY RESORT Which were the high light of our trip
we all enjoyed the various activities offered by the friendly hotel staff (we did not need to leave the hotel for the 3days ) , and the full board concept was an excellent choice for families with children(delicious food and sweets ), the rooms were clean , helpful staff
I personally enjoyed the swimming pool as not to many hotels allow Muslim women to go in to the pool wearing full body suite
ELA QUALITY is an excellent choice for families with children.
Thanks ELA

We returned from fortnights holiday at the Ela on the 29th July and overall we really enjoyed ourselves. We booked very late and the reviews that i had read led me to feel a little nervous before we went.
The Good Points -
The hotel is beautiful. Its extremely clean and the extensive grounds are kept immaculately.
The rooms are lovely, very spacous and cleaned to a very high standard every day.
The Al a carte restaurants are very good, our personal favourite was the BBQ. We went at 7 and as we were finishing the sun was setting behind us and it was gorgeous. All the al a carte restaurants are worth visiting, and the waiting staff were for the most part very good.
The pools are all very nice, we preferred the olympic sized pool as it tended not to have too many kids round it.
The pool snack bar, sofa and the bars around the pool are all very good. We didn't have to wait long for anything.
The main bar both inside and out was lovely. We found the staff here to be the friendliest in all the hotel.

The negative points -
This hotel was designed with children in mind, and there was hundreds of them. I should have taken notice of what i had read, and not taken my travel agents advice. She indicated that there would probably only be a handful of kids and that we would probably not notice them. As a couple who have raised our kids we tend to usually book adults only, and this will be something that we will definately revert to.
The hotel was absolutely full of Russians and Germans, we only noticed a handful of other brits. The problems this caused are the usual ones, we found them to be extremely rude, still insisting on putting their towels in the same place at the crack of dawn, no matter how early we rose there were never any of the prime sites available. I went to the gym in the morning, and even at 7 there were no good spaces? I also felt very sorry for many of the waiting staff as it seems please and thank you are not words that are widely used.
The hotel was huge, we are more used to small boutique hotels and the size meant that during the main season the hotel was filled to capacity, nearing 3000 people. Not a problem in itself but it made it very difficult to meet anyone socially, as you tend to do in the smaller places.
The main restaurant was horrible. My husband didn't mind it but i found it to be like a cattle market. We went once for lunch and once for breakfast and i didn't enjoy either. There is absolutely no reasoning to the layout which means you tend to walk around and around looking for what you want, between desserts, salads and hot meals.? Plus i found the smell to be very offputting. I would certainly recommend that you opt for the A la carte instead.
The language barrier is a problem. With the exception of a very few staff hardly any of the staff understand the English language. This was ok until you have a problem. Our door into the bathroom wouldn't open in the middle of the night and we had to report it, but it took ages to get someone to understand us. There were several other issues with language but in the end you manage to get yourselves understood.

So the hotel was lovely, the holiday was lovely, and the food and drinks were lovely. Just too big, too many people and too many kids. If you are looking for a romantic getaway skip this place and head for the Carribean?

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks. The hotel is good enough, but if you want to make your stay more comfortable - be prepared for some specific things

1. If you order non-standart accomodation (Lake House and so on), be ready, that a receptionist will offer you to sleep 1-2 nights in another room (in main building). Nobody will ask you about ordered accomodation. Rooms will be selected without your any notification.
If you are not agree, only manager can understand you, other hotel representatives forget any language except turkish. We spent about 2 hours to prove our right to stay in ordered rooms. It was really difficult, but we won.

2. Air-conditioning in rooms is too dangerous (Lake house). A conditioner is placed against the bed and you are under a north wind when you sleep. Otherwise you'll have hot room and short sleeping time

3. Animation. It is BAD animation in this hotel. Last year my wife and children stayed in Susesi hotel and my wife can compare. Shows are pure

4. Wi-fi is poor. It works fine only in main building. But even there sometimes you'll have no access to the Internet due internal troubles. Be ready, that this wi-fi network requires authorization for each device, that you use.

5. Prices in shops in the hotel for children shoes and sunscreens (for example) is 2-2.5 times more, than in Belek.

6. Currency exchange and payments on check-out. If you use services like a massage, restaurant and so on your account is debited by TL (Turkish Liras) or EUR. Currency rate in the hotel is 1 EUR = 2.5 TL. The same rate in the town is 1 EUR = 2.0 TL. If you pay by credit card, your card will be debited in (right!) in TL (no EUR or dollars). Therefore this operation increases you bill for 20% at least. If you pay by cash you can avoid this trouble.

Resume
1. Be ready to fight for your right place under the turkish sun
2. Use towel to protect your head and health
3. Use one wi-fi device and use it only in the main building
3. Get enough cash to pay and forget about credit card

And enjoy the sun and sea after that ;)

We stayed at Ela with extended families and two young kids in June. Our initial overall impression was very positive - we were happy with the facilities, rooms and the food. The only minor issues I had observed were: 1) Rooms tended to be cleaned very late in the day. Given the nap schedules of two young children we ended up having to call Housekeeping to make sure the room was cleaned before their naps in the afternoon. 2) the little toys and cups etc that we ended up leaving at the restaurant were never to be found. I would have expected the staff to put them aside in case guests may come back looking for them instead of just sweeping away.
Our real issue with Ela surfaced about 2-3 days after we left the hotel when one morning both my sons woke up with fever and rashes all over their bodies. A day before our 12hr flight back from Turkey to our home, we had to rush to the hospital; and then deal with two sick kids on the return flight. Our kids were diagnosed with a very contagious viral disease where the symptoms appear 3-7 days after exposure to the virus. Given that fact, the exposure to the virus happened no doubt at Ela. I question the hygiene in the children's pool and also the highchairs in the restaurants.
I emailed Ela with this information, alerting that many other children must or will have the same disease in the resort and asked for an explanation of the hygiene standards in the pools. I received an immediate response wishing our children a speedy recovery and assuring that their Hygiene Manager would come back to us after investigating urgently. That was the last we ever heard. Clearly, this type of feedback is not deemed worthy to follow up on (while you are constantly being asked to fill in feedback forms during your stay).

I have gone back and read the reviews for this hotel on this site. There are quite a few mentions of viruses and guests getting sick in dozens. I think this hotel needs to evaluate its hygiene practices closely. I personally would not risk going back again.

Our first time in Turkey. Although the hotel was fully booked, the people attending us managed to stay super friendly, the food was great and there was always a place or restaurant to hide from the crowd....
