Lots of negative reviews on here, I don't understand why some of you ever go abroad and what is the problem with the hotel charging to your room? this is the norm in 90% of hotels, in fact the only ones that don't do this are your typical Blackpool B&B or Benidorm hotels, probably because of the clientel. We had a great time in a wonderful location and the staff dealt with any queries (not moans) we had quickly and in a friendly manner. Going back to Olu Deniz next year and will definitely advice our relatives to stay here.

dont know why some people have a problem with this hotel ,the staff are great ,beautiful pool, everything is spotlessly clean,in a great location ,english, breakfast for £3,drinks are reasonably priced and evening meals are well presented and good value. We stayed for a week in september 2013,and if we had not already booked for next year we would return to OLU DENIZ with out hesitation. Try a jeep safari with pioneer travel great fun £12 each for a full day including lunch.Altogether a fantastic place to stay, we will return as soon as possible

We arrived at 4am to find a young lad asleep on a sofa in reception. He made it clear by his expression and body language that he wasn't over pleased to see us. He walked us to our room (614) at the back of the hotel. No greeting, smile, handshake etc. so not the best first impression. We were offered a safe and air con but the price of both was a complete rip-off and sent out the wrong message. The room was not spacious, it was dark, and the bathroom window didn't open which turned it into a sauna after a shower.
We were sold this hotel on the basis that it was in a quiet location. The room we were in backed on to the Amphora restaurant and karaoke bar which pounded music out to distortion level until close to 1am. This, combined with the loud music from the Buzz Bar and Harry's meant that it was impossible to sleep until about 2am. Added to this was the Irish woman from Hell who was residing 2 doors up from us and had No idea about how her behaviour affected other people. The word selfish doesn't begin to describe her. So I requested a room move which we eventually got after 3 more days. Our new room (514) was a big improvement, although the noise from music was only slightly diminished.
The rooms were always cleaned, with a daily change of towels and the cleaning staff were very friendly. Breakfasts were fine and the buffet on the Turkish night was very good with a wide range of food on offer and well worth the £10. We didn't spend much time around the pool, but it was clean and well maintained.
The hotel itself is fine. I cannot speak about the basement rooms, ants, blocked drains etc as experienced by other reviewers. However, the management could learn a lot about social interaction and SMILING from the two young members of staff and the cleaner. The management give the impression that they don't like their customers and are only interested in their money. Language barriers are not a problem with engaging with people.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a first or second floor room overlooking the pool. If you want to sleep by midnigh...

We have just come back from this hotel, and would NEVER go back there again. The majority of the staff are amongst the most miserable bunch of people I have ever come across in my life. The owner sits at the end of the bar all day, smoking, drinking and casting his beady eye over his staff. On the odd occasion he got up and actually managed to get his own drink when there were no staff about. The hotel in itself is actually nice and in a perfect location close to all the other bars and restaurants in the area. The room we stayed in was 504 and it was a bottom floor room, more like a dungeon. It has no natural day light or sunshine, the small balcony/patio looked out onto a wall. This wall forms part of the pool area. When standing on the patio if you look up you could see other holiday makers sitting on their sun beds, leaving us with no privacy in our room at all. The room was damp and the bathroom was filthy with damp, the shower cubicle was black with damp and when using the shower it leaked all over the floor, causing the floor to become slippery and dangerous. On one morning we got up to find the bathroom was flooded with water from the drains, the bathroom floor was lower than the rest of the room and had a lip on it. We went to tell staff about the flood and they sent a young lad to sort it out, he had his hand down the drain trying to clear it out. By the time we got back to our room the water had now spilled out into the main bedroom and onto the balcony, along the main corridor and into next doors room, leaving a nice fresh sewerage smell, just what you want on your holiday!!!! After the drains had been sorted we had a plague of Mosquitos that ate out on my husband for the rest of the holiday, greedy little bleeders. We later learnt from other holiday makers that this had happened to them a couple of days prior to this, but they actually had little brown floaters bobbing along in their own little flood, so perhaps we should be lucky that we only had fluid from the drains......
Half of the rooms in this hotel were either on the bottom floors like ours or to the back of the hotel there were 5 small rooms which used to be staff quarters, these had a very small window, people referred to these rooms as resembling a sauna. Half of the rooms in the hotel people didn't like therefor resulting in people asking for a change of room, we asked politely if we could change our room and we even offered to pay for another room, but the member of staff we asked just pointed to a sign at the back of reception. They had obviously had enough of people asking for a change and refused us. However some people did get moved rooms, but as in life in general those who should loudest get results. I have read other reviews of this hotel and the majority of people saying nice things about it had stayed in rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floors which had small balconies which look out onto the pool area.

Room Tip: we had asked on our booking form for a top floor room due to the comments from previous holiday make...

been to this hotel many of times previously with family! couldn't say anything to fault it..
lovely location.. and very close to the beach - but I travelled here with my partner in June/July and was treated so differently........ with a lot of attitude and like we wasn't wanted there.
we are a young/sensible couple who don't drink so we couldn't of offended anyone.
nice hotel - basements rooms are nicer than you think.
when you meet people around the pool they all seem to know each other already from previous holidays.. they seem like they don't need new friends..
and give you the cold shoulder. wouldn't recommend for couples.. maybe older family's
would stay here again unfortunately
the maid/young lad are the angels of this hotel! such lovely people

Some of the reviews of this hotel are amazing, people complaining about the payment methods, what type of hotels do you normally stay in? everywhere uses this method. Our room was excellent, number 510, but I must admit I don't think I would say the same if we had been in the basement rooms. People complaining that the staff are miserable, well I'm not surprised the way some of the guests, usually British ones, treat them. We always found them pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast was basic but nice, ie: Turkish. Anyway in our view thiswas a great hotel with no negative issues for us and in the perfect location, enjoy.

Having read previous reviews all I can say is I embarked on this stay filled with anxiety & trepidation, expecting the worse. Well having been, all I can say is keep a very open mind. On one hand you have an excellent central location which proves to be an an ideal base. I stayed on bed & breakfast basis, if you go expecting a good quality plentiful Turkish breakfast, that is exactly what you get. For a very small cost you can upgrade to an impressive full English breakfast. Rooms & hotel found to be very clean, bed linens changed several times during the stay with fresh fluffy towels every day. If you are going to make life long friends of the staff & engaged in lots of friendly banter this may not be quite the place for you. Initially, you are lead to believe that is is because the staff & rude and unhelpful, however I think you will find that this is because of a language barrier ... spoken English is not the staffs strongest points. Once you were able to communicate your needs/ wishes , the staff are helpful to oblige. I had previously read reviews about the bill not being accurate, as a consequence I kept a personal tally . When checking out the bill was spot on. On arrival( 6 am we had been allocated the wrong room this was rectified without any hassle or disruption later the same morning. Clean pool side area amble sun loungers. If I had to choose to stay again or recommend it to others, yes I would. This fits the bill if you are looking for an averaged priced, comfortable central location without any fancy trappings or frilly exteriors. What you see is what get .
