“Small and Friendly”
Reviewed 17 August 2012

This was our second time staying at the Perdikia, but first time with our children. Our teenager was not very impressed at first with staying in such a small hotel but soon found that it had some great advantages. Pool area was great, no problem with getting loungers most days and everyone all had fun together. Our family room was much bigger than we had expected, really needs re-decorating and new futrniture to bring into modern times but was kept spotlessly clean by the fantastic maids, bathroom was great with a fantastic shower and plenty of hot water for all 4 of us every day. The air-con in our room (413) was great, absolute heaven to walk back into a cold room as temps were into the 40's. Hotel is in fantastic setting with mountain scenery and only 5 minute walk to bars, restaurants and beach. We found all the staff really friendly and helpful and really couldn't do enough for you. My husband celebrated his birthday whilst there and staff arranged a cake and decorated our dinner table with banners and flowers. Would recommend this hotel definately

We stayed there for 10 nights. The location is great. It is only a few meters away from the Oludeniz shopping area and Belcegiz Beach, to which the entrance is free. You can also reach the famous Blue Lagoon on foot in about 5 minutes.

The food was great for my taste. The pool was clean and not crowded.

Having read mixed views, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely come here again. The problems with air conditioning seem to have been fixed, although the system was more efficient in our teenagers' room than ours, so I think it depends on the room allocated. The food was great - we ate far too much. The staff were friendly and made our visit really pleasant. The bedrooms were fine - clean and functional. The pool was a good size and there were no problems with getting sun beds or shades. The gardens are beautiful and offer welcome escape from the heat. My only suggestion is that the management should control the smoking better, as despite "no-smoking" signs in the restaurant guests ignored them and puffed away when people were eating. There were also a fair number of guests smoking in the bar area and non-smokers couldn't get away from it. Having discussed this with the travel rep, it seems the let off is that the bar is open at the sides so in theory is an open-air space. Sadly this didn't work for me and far too many people were oblivious to the fact that non-smokers and children might not wish to inhale their smoke!

Room Tip: The rooms on the lower floors were the quietest and coolest but overlooking the gardens rather than...

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Perdikia hotel. This was our second trip to Olu Deniz but our first stay at this small clean hotel. One major problem, non existent air conditioning which spoilt our enjoyment of what should have been a perfect break. The rep and staff were not interested in our and other guests complaints stating that it would cost too much to update! Given the temperature this is not acceptable and we had sleepless nights with no respite in the bedrooms from the heat.Suprisingly the reception area was nice and cool and I seriously considered sleeping on the couch in there. We also got hassled about bringing water back one evening. There was no compromise with the manager even when we again said about the air con.In the end I took it in anyway. The rep was useless, some kid with better things to do than take your concerns on board. Sort your act out Thomas Cook and advertise the issue with the air con or get this hotel of your books.
Everything else was what you would expect from a hotel of this rating though, clean rooms, towels and linen. We won't stay here again though and if you are thinking off going there are better selections for the same money with good air con which believe me you will need. The resort is great, fantastic beach, restaurants and bars and plenty to do.We would recommend the twelve island boat trip on one of the sailing ships.A great relaxing day out with top lunch too.

Excellent location just 2 mins off the main strip. Ideal location and hotel for couples. Staff are very helpful and friendly nothing was to much for them and their english was good, rooms cleaned daily, beds and towels changed daily. We stayed B&B but everyone was full board were pleased with their meals (It suited us as we like to eat at the Buzz Bar). The only down side for us was the Air Conditioning which requires upgrading... not up to the standard required but not as bad as some make out considering the rates of the hotel.
The pool and surrounding area was cleaned every evening a high standard of cleanliness throughout.... not a hotel to take the kids as the pool is adequate but not really for the kids.

This was our second time to stay at Olu Deniz and also the Perdikia Beach Hotel, we were here same time last year and decided to return to the same hotel as we were so impressed with the location (just 5 min walk to beach), high standard of cleanliness, service and food. We always choose a small sized hotel as we find it more relaxing, the staff get to remember you very quickly and not over-crowded at meal times etc. This hotel is extremely well managed by the manager Oscar (looks a bit like Phil Collins) and the standard of service from all departments and staff is impeccable. We were given room 303 which was located on the 2nd floor with a view of the mountains, so it was very private, quiet and shaded from the sun. Yes rooms are all maybe a bit small....but that is in comparison with a 5star hotel, this is a 3plus so how much space do you expect? We found it perfect, the main thing was that there was loads of storage space and that it was spotlessly clean. I noticed on Trip Advisor some people had found towells a bit threadbare...I didn't come across any like this at all. The maids did a fantastic job cleaning our room every day, with new fresh clean towels every day without fail. The air-conditioning in our room did it's job keeping it lovely and cool, and it was the same in our room which was located above the dining area last year. All rooms also have a fridge which is filled by the hotel with refreshments do we were delighted to have constant cool drinks at hand when we wanted one. We stayed half board again as the selection at meal times is excellent. For breakfast (avail from 8am - 9.30) there is a selection of freshly baked bread (which you can toast if you like), jams, honey, eggs, beans, cereal, fresh fruit salad, omlette, nescafe and teas. Dinner was available from 8pm which was a great time to allow guests / families plenty of time to get themselves cleaned up after a day at the beach or pool and consisted of fresh soup of the day which was absolutely delicious, huge selection of salads and each day there was either chicken, lamb, beef, kebabs, meatballs, fresh fish caught that morning and came with a choice of accompanents such as chips, rice, spaghetti, mediterranean vegetables, potatoes etc, then there was always a large selection of desserts to finish. I found the selection and quality of food excellent and my husband who is an extremely fussy eater always found something to his taste...so top marks to the chef! Entertainment at the hotel is kept quite low key.. which ranged fromTurkish nights with traditional acts and belly dancers (which I loved best) to Tango and young men doing their best to be the new 'Diversity'. This is then followed by the staff (and this really did include all of the staff which was great to see) do their traditional Turkish dance then getting the guests up to paticipate with them. It's all great fun...even the husband was up a few times...and he hates dancing..but you are on your holidays and we were here to enjoy every second of it. At night if there was no entertainment on at hotel we would usually head out to the main nighlife. Our favourite bars were Cloud9 and Josephs. Cloud9 is fantastically located where the main street meets the beach (left side) and is a great spot to watch the paragliders land during the day. We would have our daytime lunch here as the food, view and service is fantastic. At night it is also a great place to chill out and people watch. The staff here are so friendly (Menderes (Eros) and Erfon will go out of their way to make you feel so welcome and certainly enjoy a bit of craic...plus they have very good taste in music. Joseph's is another fantastic bar, it is slightly cheaper than Cloud9 as you can get a full sized pint glass of Efes for 5 lira. The service here was excellent, such friendly staff - especially George Clooney the waiter and not forgetting the owner Joseph himself...what a character! For daytime activities this year we done the Sunset cruise with Gravity which was absolutely fantastic...worth every penny! It leaves the beach about 5.45pm and sails out towards Nicholas Island where it stops for an hour for their onboard photographer to take absolutely fantastic photographs of you with the sun setting in the background...even if you normally do not take a good photograph...this guy is so good...you will look fantastic and it is so cheap to get a copy of the photos on a disc. The boat then goes off to another beach, you get your dinner on board which was fantastic...they dish it out and there was plenty of it...even seconds! Then you disembark onto a beach, the bonfire is lit, Belly dancer...then audience participation..absolutely excellent...then sail back to Olu Deniz for 11pm. We also done the Quad Safari with Sky Sports, why I chose this this operator to go with is because I know they are synonomous for safety and quality of excursion...you find cheaper versions...but you may find them cheaper for a reason and when it's too late. I had heard stories from people who had gone with a cheaper operator and had quite a few complaints... I had none whatsoever with Sky Sports. Their quads were of a good quality (not wires on wheels) very sturdy, durable and easy to control. We spent a total of 2 hours riding our quads through forest tracks, puddles, roads, they have their leader rider on the front and some else will be at the very back so no-one can get lost as there is a quite a gap between each quad, you will see their photographer snapping pictures of you on your journey. There is also a 45min stop off at a beautiful beach where you can go for a quick swim to cool down or sit in the shade and have a few cool refreshments before heading off again. We absolutely enjoyed this trip, thoroughly recommend it...if you don't mind getting a bit dusty (don't forget your sunglasses to protect your eyes). I also done the paragliding...again I chose Sky Sports for their safety record and is absolutely essential for this activity. I had done this last year which was the hi-light of last years holiday and couldn't wait to get up there on Mt Babadag to do it again. Perfect take off and absolutely perfect landing with pilot 'Oisin' (sounded something like that) and a total adrenaline rush from start to finish (including scarey bus ride up the mountain)..absolutely awesome! So will I be coming back to Olu Deniz again next year...I sure hope so as there are still many activities I still have to try out, and will I return to the Peridikia Beach Hotel....ABSOLUTELY! Missing it and all of the staff already, special thanks absolutely everyone at this hotel for making our holiday a perfect one and I have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone. Hi to special friends - Ersan (security) Esh (Bar) and my favourite Chef (is his name Cehal or Ayhan?) see you all next year!
